I am deciding between those 2 hotels its nice that you have a review from boths because will be a perspective from the same guest

Thanks! That's exactly why I did it! My my plan was jsut the new hotel (because I had been in the older one before) but I thought for sure people want to have a 1 to 1 comparison! In my opinion east is better because of the room size! You should not underestimate the amount of bags, conbini food and shopping you will have!

But if convenience of location is more important and there is 0 importanxe of shopping and space then this is the choixe!

In the T&C of the ALL program, room upgrade is not valid for Ibis & Ibis styles. Thats why you dont get any room upg

You are 100% correct but in my experience as a platinum member you often get a slightly bigger room or even a triple room sometimes (the hotel had bigger rooms available) . But perhaps I have been too spoiled before and I probably shouldn't have mentioned the lack of an upgrade in this video. Thanks for pointing it out!

@sushanttrivedi2267 I meant hilton group so for example the hilton garden inn kyoto charges the same as the ibis styles kyoto station but was upgraded to a family room. And in general worldwide I have been upgraded at least 2 or 3 times more often in hilton hotels than accor hotels even when the costs are the same.
