So sorry for your loss. For some reason the CRST truck stood out to me and I just kept thinking about it. Then I get to the comments and see yours and I'm thinking wow now I know why I was thinking about it as the video played.
Good evasive maneuver but in a storm like this with ice and low visibility, why are you going 50mph (80 km/h)? As a heavy vehicle, you should be going 30mph, if even that.
Patterns in the snow at the shoulder... that appears to be a normal occurrence right in that location. Driving too fast for conditions, something happens in front... and you can't stop or otherwise avoid it = you broke the basic speed law. Do not drive faster than the speed where you could stop or avoid a stopped car suddenly appearing out of the fog/rain/dark. If there's ice it takes longer to stop. If there's fog/rain/snow/dark you can't see as far. When the combination of reduced visibility and reduced braking add up to not being able to stop in the length of your truck... its time to pull off and wait for better conditions.
I had to do that once. II went back the other way back to the truck stop and didn't move until the following day. After the storm went away and the roads were clear
At 2:34 to about 2:55 two trucks came in at a high rate of speed and collided with trucks that were where I was when I started to back up. Herd to see. Better on a PC.
Would it be practical for 18-wheeler companies be required to enforce all drivers to carry a portable amber strobe, one that you could mount on the back of a trailer (or one built into the back of trailers) for instances like these. It could literally save lives and $100,000s-millions in damages.
Best video of truck driving... Drove the speed of the weather....reacted quick....Got the fuck out of the way....Didn't jump out of the truck and run over to help Which there is fuck all you can do to help. The only thing it does it put you and others at risk of being hit by other cars and trucks..Leave and call it in
Seeing that SUV at 1:23 made me hope that the driver had enough sense to somehow get out of that existing mess of wrecked trucks because I was sure more were going to pile up into this, and unfortunately I was right.

Was waiting for a wreck. All I saw was a truck reversing while others trucks parked and were just sitting there. 🤷♀️
You mean something like. I dunno.. hazard lights??? Trucks have hazard flashers.. its not a matter of having them its a matter of using them.
Best video of truck driving... Drove the speed of the weather....reacted quick....Got the fuck out of the way....Didn't jump out of the truck and run over to help Which there is fuck all you can do to help. The only thing it does it put you and others at risk of being hit by other cars and trucks..Leave and call it in
Spectacular backing job.
what happened to the sound?
This guy watched enough of these pile up videos on RUclips and said “not today” 😬
Seeing that SUV at 1:23 made me hope that the driver had enough sense to somehow get out of that existing mess of wrecked trucks because I was sure more were going to pile up into this, and unfortunately I was right.
nice to see you stop and render aid steering wheel holder
