Yes he explains it so well! I did not think of it like this. But it explains why they are so good at trading off verses like they do! If you think about it, the writers of their songs have quite a challenge to fit in 7 voices in nearly every song. And Sam may not know that JK does all of the vocal guides for every new song. They all rely on him and his range so much! I also read recently that he does so much of the backing tracks. He is all over their songs.

Agreed. "Your Eyes Tell" also has lots of harmonies; plus, their covers of "I'll be missing you," and Coldplay's "Fix you."

I think the most beautiful harmonies are in Blue and grey. I am truly wondering why they don't harmonize more often. Maybe so we can appreciate it more when they do...
All of them except for Jin have released solo albums this past year. Jin released a single in collaboration with Coldplay called The Astronaut. In order, RM released the album Indigo (I HIGHLY recommend the music video for Wildflower from that album), Suga released D-Day and went on a tour (I got to see him in concert!), J-Hope released Jack in the Box, Jimin released Face (I'm sure you'd love his song Like Crazy), V released Layover (and he has a music video for every single song on it, lol. But also did several beautiful live performances including Tiny Desk Korea, which is my favorite), and Jungkook released Golden (the best known song on it is probably Seven, but my personal favorites are Hate You and Shot Glass of Tears).
All of them are now currently fulfilling their mandatory service in the Korean military. They will all be out of the military and reunited in 2025. They've all re-signed contracts with BigHit and indicated their intentions to continue as a group once they all return.
Jin, who enlisted earlier than the rest, will be out this year, and I expect he'll do some solo work and release a solo album of his own once he is out.
I love your answer but got a bit confused with your "in order" because the timeline is of before I realized you ment their "chanting order": leader first than age.
Because in the timeline J-Hope dropped first (after Proof), than we get Jin's goodbye and RM's album Indigo still in 2022 - with a few songs/collabs in between.
Than we get Jimin's album, Suga's, in the summer a song by JK, V's album and than JK (that includes also the summer song). And more solo stuff/collabs.
And there is also "Take Two" from BTS in the summer of 2023.

J-Hope was also the first Korean artist to headline Lollapalooza in Chicago in July, 2022! That's where he met his idol, J. Cole, who he later collaborated with on his "goodbye" song, "On The Street" before he went to the military. 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜

Just caught this and so happy I did. I miss them so much. They give me goosebumps with their harmonies. They actually harmonise on a lot of songs. One of my favourite songs is Look Here.

Jungkook has one of the most clean voice I have ever heard.. That's why his voice is my favourite.. I can listen to him singing for hours... It's like he touches me soul ❤❤❤😢😊
I'm glad you mentioned the soothing quality to JK's voice. Funny thing, I played Euphoria for my then 5 year old granddaughter and her first comment afterwards was that she liked his voice because it was "calm"! 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
JK's voice singing karaoke on a rough mic in his living room on his live stream is the reason I am ARMY!! He sang the cover "To Find You" and it is so good! I had to know who this artist was!

I love your reactions! The boys are now all doing their mandatory military service. Jin comes back in June, Hobi in October. The rest in June of 2025. They have all done some solo. Please look at:

So much solo content you've missed. They are all now enlisted. Jin will be back as of June and by June/25 they will all be back. Mikrokosmos was a great song to come back to. I really enjoyed your explanation of the difference between falsetto and head voice for example. I can't believe, it never occurred to me before that they adjust their voices to lead into the next artist, I just knew the transitions were seamless. Thanks for pointing that out. So glad to have you back to BTS. There's lots of solo music from them you've missed. It's hard to list. For JK's recent album, I recommend the iHeart radio versions; for V, the Tiny Desk Korea is great, among his many live performances. Both did a lot of live performances. Jimin, RM, Suga, all have albums and live performances of them. Jin's astronaut live in Argentina would be great to react to. J-hope at Lollapalooza. The solo chapter has allowed them to explore their individual voices more, so that should be fun for you!
The crowd for bts is always perfect. I cant think of any artist that gets better audience participation than them
Just a note from an older fan queen did songs for fans to join in with they just called them anthems check them out they where amazing back in the day that what I love about bts there fans joining the party not many bands have this magic 💜
This is probably my favorite performance of Mikrokosmos... It's such a beautiful song and they're really in the moment with it here.
I love that you pointed out how they modify their voices for handoffs! They do it to blend too in songs with a lot of harmonies. It's so cool that they've worked to develop such distinct voices but also to make sure their voices can meld together well. 💜

Some things to check out for vocals: Jk standing next to you (prefer the no Usher), V tiny desk, Festa Room live, BTS tiny desk, Snooze Agust D/ Woosung, Jimin Letter… actually there’s just hundreds of things from all of them, I give up 😂💜
They are all completing their military service right now (with Jin out in June and J-Hope in October this year) but they all worked on their solo work before enlisting. There's a lot there for you to listen to, all different types of work but all just as good as their group work!!
My favorite part of the song is that sing song thing RM does at the start of the second lyric. It’s a kind of seen here… but in the recorded single, it has this real jaunty and lively kind of flow. It’s just full of joy and life.
Good to see you again. Jin did a collab with Coldplay (also live on in a stadium in South America). Rm made an lp (tiny disk session), Jhope made also a lp (lollapalooza also a documentary), Jimin did a lp (Jimmy fallon) and a documentary , V made a lp (tiny desk session), JK a lp (I heart performance or the one at times square). Suga did a lp, documentary, talk show (suchwita) and a concert series.
Yay! I really like your breakdowns of their voices. So happy to see another BTS video from you. I think you would like their performance of the song Take Two (2023 Festa Live Clip). They harmonize a lot in that song too and I think the emotion in their voice is so beautiful. It was released as a gift for army during the annual 2 week celebration of their anniversary (Festa) after they had already announced their hiatus in 2022. During the "hiatus" all 7 members officially debuted their solo music and then enlisted to serve. It was nice that even after their hiatus they still continue to release content with all 7 of them together. All the members are now doing their military service, the last ones enlisting last month. Jin is going to be back in June so we all are really excited for his return.
Great to see you back to listening to BTS! You’ll enjoy all the individual work the BTS members have each released before heading in to the military. As much as you’ve shared how amazing their individual voices are when they preform together, you’ll be blown away by what they’ve shared individually. Their music is all wonderful. Can’t wait till they are back together in 2025 though. They are just magic together.
This was one of the final concerts in their love yourself/speak yourself tour and it was a concert/album series that meant a lot to all of them so jin likely was a little teary eyed, theres a video from the very last concert where rm is crying while giving his final speech, which was and still is very abnormal because he very rarely cries in front of armys, and it was vecause he was sad the era was ending
All of the 'boys' are now serving in the military. You must do all the solo work. I won't repeat the information that is already listed. Each of them explored different music genres so there is much to explore from a sound standpoint. I am OT7 so I want you to look at everyone's solo work. It's plenty to keep you busy. There are a ton of live performances for each of the solos. I definitely recommend the Tiny Desk performances for RM and for V. In addition, V did a duet with IU on her show and IU is releasing a music video/Film with V on the 24th. We don't know if it is a duet or if he is simply appearing in the MV as an actor/character.

Just to let you know what they are doing. All seven are now in the military. Jin enlisted Dec 2022 and is now a Sergeant and will be discharged June 12th this year. J Hope enlisted April 2023 and is now a corporal and will be discharged in October. Both became Assistant Trainers at their bases and train the new recruits. Jin attained the title of Special Elite Warrior class something that is hard to attain and is equivalent to being in the special forces training wise, he challenged J Hope who also has received it. Suga enlisted September 2023 and is serving as a public service personnel as he did not pass to be an active soldier due to his shoulder reconstruction and will be discharged June 2025. Namjoon, V, Jimin and Jungkook all enlisted last month Dec 2023 and have just finished training. V will join the Special Forces and Jimin and Jungkook an artillary Brigade in Jin’s division. There has been no announcement on what Namjoon will do apart from which division he is going to but ironically there is an Intelligence unit in that division and as he has an IQ of 148 I doubt that they will waste that.
Anyway they have all produced single albums bar Jin who just released a single song before enlisting. Below is the album titles and my choice for you to react to. All are vastly different.

All the members have done their own versions in their solo promotions. My suggestions would be:
Hobi-Lollapallooza, such a wonderful performance. Hangsang and Arson were just magnificent!
Jin- The Astronaut performance with Coldplay in Buenos Aires, 💜
Joon- Live in Seoul, with many of his collaborators on Indigo. Closer and Wildflower are my personal favorites
Jimin- Letter (hidden track on Face for Army) for Festa, 💜
Yoongi- Any clips from his World Tour but particularly on last day, 🔥🔥🔥
Tae- Everyone would suggest Tiny Desk Korea and Le Jazz de V, and I agree.
However, First Take and his duet with IU on IU’s Palette deserve votes too! Especially with his music video with IU dropping in 2 days
JK- Showcase of Golden. My personal favs are Yes or No and Please Don’t Change 🎉
Regarding Jimin looking sad, the last songs of their concerts bring the emotions. Jimin is mischievous and you'll see him falling to the floor in laughter a LOT!

They all were emotional during this song because just before this song the whole Wembley stadium surprised them by singing "Young forever" to them.

The oldest is Jin, leader is Rm, n the youngest or the golden maknae Jung Kook or Jk. Called golden maknae bec he’s versatile in any genre, sing, rap, dance, sing the guide song, Harmony, adlib n backgrounds. He’s athletic n artistic lol drawing n painting. Rm writes most of the songs. Suga n J-Hope help, too. The younger ones writes n produce, too. Not as many. But all produce n write their solos.
Hi! I’m so happy you’re back with bts, I missed your videos!! Mikrokosmos is one of my favourite bts songs ever. This performance was their last in-person performance (end of 2019) before their forced break from touring during covid, so it was very special. Jin does bring a lot of emotions out during his performances, I always think he’s so emotionally expressive and genuine when he sings (he might have been tearing up here, they didn’t know it would be their last concert in a long time but they did know it was the end of the tour and it must have made them emotional too.)
I love their harmonies too!! I think it’s always a hard balancing act for BTS’ arrangements: since they dance so much it’s easier for only one person to sing at a time (alternating lines between the four of them) so the others can have space to breathe through their choreos. But in songs with no choreography like this they have a lot more freedom to add vocal harmonies and adlibs etc :)
I hope you watch more BTS videos, they’ve all been very busy in the past year as everyone else will have also told you 😅
(Jin will come out of the military this June 2024 by the way, so you still have 5 months to catch up on things before then 😆)

Agreed! And I think the Mujin Service acoustic performance is a really good call. Also, it's not live, but I'd toss Set Me Free pt 2 in the mix, because even without the effects, Jimin is using his voice in a lot of different ways.

There is live solo material from every single member in the last year plus. Suga did a whole solo world tour!!! Please check it all out! They are currently serving and will not be back together till late 2025. Jin will be home this June and we hope he will give us a solo album before the rest return since he didn’t have time before he enlisted. 💜
you have to listen to V's album, well to all of their albums. they all released individual projects as each of them entered the military. all the boys are in the military now but Jin will come out soon followed by Jhope and the rest by 2025
It's not unusual to forget Jin when naming the members. If you learn the fanchant you will always remember all their names. Also, if you watch and listen to Epiphany a few times, you will never forget our man Jin ever again.
Hi, i am back. Great reaction, ty. All the members are in the military now. Jin will be back June 12 and JHope will be back in Oct. So yes it is the perfect time to catch up. Ur not saying the name of the song correctly fyi. Jimmy Fallon says iw right when they did a week of residency on his show. Their stage for it is amazing too. No ur right Jimin sings 1st but they did not show him singing. They only showed JK. But u heard right. Now that was a pleasant surprise. Ur very right. All of them can mimic each other for a bit to connect and then continue a song. But JK got a real gift in this and has assisted them all when they are ill but need to sing. They all learned from each other but mostly JK. At the start he was the only one getting vocal training. Jimin got training way later and that's why they are very close matched while singing. Jk taught jimin how to sing. He tried anyway. Their harmonies are chef's kiss. My fav song is Your EyesTell. It's a Japanese OST. Borahae. -NY USA 2019 Army💟

So nice to have you back reacting to BTS! There's been many recommendations so I'll just update you on JK. His album is called Golden and is all in English. He tries different genres in the album. First song to drop was Seven and it became the fastest song to hit 1Billion streams.
2nd song is 3D with Jack Harlow. There's a remix of 3D with Justin Timberlake and personally i prefer that one cos they sound great together (no mv though).
Standing Next to You is the title track and yes, check out the mv & perhaps the performance on Jimmy Fallon or Times Square and then the Usher remix.

I really appreciate watching your very detailed technical analysis of their singing and harmonizing. Why I love watching reaction videos by professionals like you. Our boys have done a lot of live singing in their solo releases, especially V, Suga, RM, JK and HOBI. You can try Tiny Desk, Palette with IU, V did a First Take in Japan, literally just one take of his song. JK did a couple of International live shows and HOBI did Lollapalooza

Love watching/listening to your reactions. I like how you pointed out the same note can sound different depending on the larynx placement. Also the high note from Jimin was so unexpected and amazing.
You DO KNOW that as of mid-December, each BTS member has enlisted in the military to fulfill their duty! Jin was the 1st the enter in Dec. 2022 due to be released in June 2024. Jhope followed then Suga. The final four joined in Dec. 2023 with ALL OF THEM completing their service by Oct/Nov. 2025. As you mentioned “what are they doing?” “What should you listen to”?
As I said, haven’t been watching for quite some time so I’m not up to date with what you’ve seen/heard. JIMIN is my bias so “Set Me Free” (my fav of his new music). FACE is his gorgeous album. Agust D tour: MAGNANIMOUS! JK, V, RM, Jhope & Jin: all superb! 💜👑🥇

The song Jung Kook did with Usher is a remix. Don't react to that, please, until you react to the original MV with just Jung Kook, and maybe a live performance. The song is called Standing Next To You and is off his first solo album GOLDEN, which is in all English. Others have already stated details so I won't repeat, but all of them have come out with solo works (most have albums or mini-albums, except Jin because he only had time to do a solo song which he teamed up with Coldplay to do. Glad you are back with us and reacting to BTS! You are right that their vocal handoffs are really smooth, this song is a perfect example. Please react to more, including their recent solo work. You have plenty of wonderful songs to choose from!
They put on there the all the albums the BTS members have put out. Let me give you some songs you could start out on from each so you have a clearer picture. I am giving recommendations of live performances when possible.
Even though Jin will come back in June with more right now Jin's one song was "Astronaut" He sang it with Coldplay (CM helped him write the song) in Argentina.
J-Hope was the first with a solo album Jack In the Box but "More" and "Arson" were the mvs out of that album even though my personal fav was "Equal Sign" Lolipalooza in Chicago .
For RM its hard to find a song because all were so good in his Indigo Album but my fav were "Wild Flower" and "Still Life" , he did a Live @ Seoul concert and they have them broken up.
Jimin was next with his FACE album, my favorite songs are "Face-Off" no mv "Like Crazy" mv He did "Like Crazy" on the Jimmy Fallon Show with "Set Me Free" as well
Suga was next and he put out an album D-Day along with a concert schedule "People Pt. 2" and "Amygdala" show the range Suga has in emotion and ability
V's album all had mvs but "Love Me Again" and "Slow Dancing" are going to blow you away "For Us" was the 3rd song and you'll enjoy that one as well
Jungkook's album Golden was truly that he did the iheart live performance with "Standing Next to You" "Seven" and "I Hate You" the last is my favorite even though the first 2 are prob everyone elses favorites.
