Citation V jet - cockpit view with live ATC!
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 16 янв 2014
- This is a rather long video, a "real time" IFR flight from KDXR to KHPN.
ATC clearance, cockpit setup and checks are explained. ATC is recorded live. Note how busy the radio is.
Your comments & suggestions are always welcome.
happy Landings,
Guido Авто/Мото
Another great one! As an IFR student I really appreciate your videos - the extra time you are taking to add additional info and talking through what you are doing is great. My videos are similar, but I'm just a private pilot in small GA aircraft :) - It is awesome to see a guy like you doing the same in jets and turboprops! thanks!
Thank you! Best of luck for your IFR training.
You will see that once you start to apply all the stuff you are learning now it becomes much easier. And will make much more sense to you...
IFR principles are the same in all aircraft.
Happy Landings,
Guido

Guido Warnecke Awesome thanks Guido. and I'm not expecting you to remember discussing this with me before, as you get so many commenters, but for the sake of other readers regarding my name; I'm Steve Thorne, I created my "Flight Chops" channel to share my flying videos before google+ implemented the new comment system, (I barely understand google+ and don't really use it).
Thank you very much, Steve!
We have one thing in common - I don't understand Google+ either... It seems to complicate tings.
Thanks again and happy landings,
Guidi
Guido, You have raised the bar again with this long format. Your flightdeck videos continue to set the standard for excellence on youtube.
Thank you very much. It is a lot of work to do these videos, especially the long one.
Comments like yours are very motivating - thank you!
Happy Landings,
Guido

Reply to "Troublemaker John" (RUclips does not allow to do this directly)
PF stands for pilot flying (the one who manipulates the controls), PM stands for pilot monitoring (who supports the PF and monitors his/her actions). PM was called PNF before (pilot non flying), but PM describes the actions and responsibilities better.
You normally swap the tasks PF/PF on every flight.
The Captain PIC (pilot in command) can be PF or PM, can even sit on the right seat. But it must be clearly defined (before the flight) who is PIC.
Happy Landings,
Guido
I'd love to fly Citations. For now, building hours in the C172 :)
Time will come for you too...
Happy landings,
Guido
I'd love to fly Citations too. For now, working hard to be able to study aviation this or next year!
***** Best of luck, Juan!
Happy landings,
Guido
Join the military!
Aviation101 we shall fly it together. Getting a rating in it soon
I love watching your videos. It's like drinking in a brilliant piece of aviation theater. I always learn something new as well. Some of the best videos on RUclips. Thanks for sharing with us!
Rob, thanks for watching my videos and thank you very much for your kind words.
Happy Landings,
Guido
As always, great flying instructional videos. The comments and graphic overlays are really helpful. When I want to learn something, I come here first. Keep 'em coming!
Thank you Larry.
Happy Landings,
Capt. Guido
AWESOME video!! Very nice to have captions explain everything!!
Thank you very much, Kerry.
Happy Landings,
Guido
I did not know that there was a difference between "ready for Take-Off" and "ready for Departure" when communicating with the tower. Thanks again for taking the time to make your videos Mr. Warnecke.
Thank you Dylan!
The wording was changed after that horrific accident in Tenerife, that was caused partly by bad communication.
Two Jumbos Collide In Canary Islands Crash of the Century
Flying is a constant learning process. Makes it very interesting and never boring.
Happy Landings,
Guido
Captains, that was a wonderful thing to behold. I expected the usual pride or hierarchical structures but saw nothing even close to that. Everything was cross checked with the ultimate professionalism, brilliant. I hope I don't offend when I say that I'm sure you both possess big egos, most people do, I saw no sign of anything like that getting in the way of those procedures and that shows real experience and superb safety consciousness on the part of both Captains. I'm sure it's second nature and nothing much to you but to witness that was both reassuring and heartening. Thanks!
Thank you!
Flying is crew work and safe flying a result of good crew work.
Happy Landings,
Guido
No way Thank YOU! Both of you, more inspirational and professional aviation ambassadors would be hard to find.
Another fine video/flight thanks for sharing with us Aviation Lovers!!!!! Now had my 2nd flying lesson......the effects of trim and flaps up/down during flight.....remember this is a PA28 1976....an "old lady of the sky"! Thanks once again for uploads.
Fantastic video, as always. Thanks for the time and effort that goes into these!
Thank you very much, Haskell!
Happy Landings,
Guido
Just subscribed to your channel. I've seen some others in the past and have always appreciated your professionalism. I also like that you make it a point to explain and teach what's going on when you can. Happy and safe flying

Amazing video Guido! As always, very professional! Watching your videos makes me remember the good times when I used to fly in US. Keep doing this great job!
Thank you very much, Fernando.
In which part of the US did you fly?
Happy Landings,
Guido
Guido Warnecke I have flown and graduated in New Smyrna Beach, Florida, near Daytona Beach. Now I'm back in Brazil, looking for a job opportunity. The aviation market over here is not going very well for just-graduated like me, but watching your videos motivates me, and shows me I still have much to learn!
Thank you for your reply! Happy Landings to you too!
Once I tried to make a video in your style (describing text in video), I was kinda happy about it until I saw this video. This is one of the best aviation videos I´ve ever seen. Patient description for every phase of flight, current procedure or just commenting the situation alltogether with astonishing flying skills and excelent situational awareness is something I´d really love to achieve one day and thanks to these videos I know it´s possible. Stripes on your shoulders shall be earned, not given. You´ve earned them 100% and every single video of yours motivates me to study more and try to make myself as good pilot as possible...
Thank you and happy landings
Thank you for your kind words, Petr.
If these videos help a little bit to enhance flight safety it is worth all the work.
Happy landings,
Guido
what a brilliant model crew! best cockpit video I've seen yet! good job. really does inspire me as a post cadet pilot!
Thank you very much, Leshan.
I will pass this on to the other pilot (also a Captain on the Citation V).
Thanks for watching my videos & happy landings,
Guido
Always very informative and interesting videos. So many "mysteries" about piloting are explained as I watch.
shysterlicious Thank you!
Flying is only as difficult and complicated as we make it.
There is not rocket science behind.
But I have to sat that for me flying is a constant, never ending learning process.
Happy Landings,
Guido
Guido you sir make me a better pilot every time I watch another video of yours. Thank you for helping me be safe.
Thank you very much, Chris.
Makes me happy to read this. So it is worth to invest all that time and efforts into these videos.
I am not a video pro, so things go slow here...
Safe flights & happy landings,
Guido
even though i'm a low time helicopter pilot, I love watching your videos and your professionalism, especially in high traffic and busy communication areas. i'm hoping some of your communication skills will rub off. thanks for all of your work posting these great flights!
Another great video Guido... As ever superb quality with very slick flying!!! Look forward to the next noe...
Thank you very much, Chris.

Thanks Guido, informative as ever with good annotation. Enjoyed this!
Thank you Ross.
I know that the annotations are sometimes too short to read, but there is so much information and so many more things to say.
Sometimes you might just pause the video to read.
Happy Landings,
Guido
That is what us, controllers, always do with great passion and professionalism!!! Thanks for the vid
Thank you Jon,

Great Video as usual Guido and a perfect landing !
Thank you!
In flying, nothing is ever "perfect". Always room for improvement and to learn.
When I do my first "prefect" flight, it is time to retire...
Happy Landings,
Guido

Happy Landings,

Best video yet! Incredibly in depth.
Thank you very much!
It is difficult to get all the information in the captures. There would be even more to say about the flight.
Happy Landings,
Guido
PS: although I understand and respect the anonymity of the web, I would appreciate if you could write your comment with your clear name - it's just more personal. Thank you!
Another great video, thanks again. I thought your copilot was a little casual at the beginning, but then I realized he was like many of my american friends. Seemingly relaxed but actually very focused and proficient. Must be great to fly with folks like that! Blue Skies, //Brian.
Thank you Brian.
Mike Bullard (the pilot on the right seat, actually also Captain qualified on the aircraft) is a great guy and very professional. It makes all the difference to fly with a good crew.
Happy Landings,
Guido
Another great video, well made, informative, love it :)
Thank you very much for watching my videos, Paul.
Happy landings,
Guido
Another awesome video! I'd love to fly Citations one day out of 4B8. Your videos have honestly been a great inspiration for me!

All the best for your flying career & Happy Landings,

Another great vid , thanks for sharing .
Safe flying
Thank you, Al!
Happy Landings,
Guido
Answer to Jacky Chan: the IFR departure runway 26 is: climb runway heading to 1,500ft then left turn to the CMK (Carmel) VOR.
In the USA, there are more and more very complex RNAV departures, which you need to load from the database. Sometimes 40 way points.
Happy Landings,
Guido
Great video. Thx for posting! Cheers.
You are very welcome!
Happy Landings,
Guido
fine video as always Guido....many many thanks..
You are vet welcome, Michael.
happy landings,
Guido
Great flight handled well by you both and ATC.
Thank you very ,much!
Happy Landings,
Guido
Damn!!! Talk about busy ATC for a short hop! You never get bored with that kind of air work and traffic! Nice CRM work. This is an excellent example of why we fly IFR flight rules even with CAVOK / VFR conditions. Makes life so much easier for ATC and the tower. Yes, there's more chatter and strict flying the routes, but it sure does make for a clean flight. +1
Greetings Doug!
Thank you for your comment.
Happy Landings,
Capt. Guido
Thank you for another great video!

Allan Bartlett

Thank you Allan. May be it is easy...
Every pilot starts one day with basic pilot training. Makes me very happy if I could motivate you a little bit to become a pilot.

Thank you very much.
I hold thumbs for your flight test next week!
All the best for your flying career and happy landings,

Guido, thanks again for sharing your videos, they are certainly a joy to watch. Make a 2 hour video and with some popcorn it will be as good as going to the movie theater.
Thank you Dennis!
Only pilots could watch this for 2 hours. My wife rolls here eyes after 10 seconds...

Jason Chaladoff Thank you very much, Jason!
Flying is a never ending learning process.
Happy Landings,

My dad once told me that some times it is like that, you have to multi-task. Interesting and educational video thx for sharing.
Thank you Wilfredo.
Your dad is right.
Happy Landings,
Guido
Guido I wanted to say that I very much enjoy your videos. They have tremendously reduced most nervous anticipations that I have flying. Speaking as a Multi - corporation owner and a future private jet owner I would have no problem flying with you as a 2nd officer or offering you a job.
Well done and good landings.
David H. Johnston
Thank you very much, David.
Please stay in touch - the aviation world is a very small one...
Best of luck and godspeed for your new jet.
Happy Landings,
Guido
guido.warnecke@att.net
Wouah! Beautiful video!
Thank you, Paol.
Happy Landings,
Guido
Guido - interesting and enjoyable to follow your flight on Google maps satellite view through the flight - identifying ground features as you go. I grew up near HPN - fun to see your approach to runway 34 - I remember riding my bike as a young kid on Lincoln Ave - and seeing the planes flying low right overhead on final approach. Great to see it all from the cockpit. Thank you, sir.
Thank you very much, John.
Happy landings,
Guido
Good stuff Captain. Keep up the good work.
Thank you very much, Tim.
Happy landings,
Guido
I love the videos!
Thank you very much, Christopher!
Happy Landings,
Guido
IMHO, flying these "smaller" jet aircraft is in no way seems easier than flying a heavy. I am not a pilot, but with all those instruments and all your hands on flying, you guys (and gals) really impress. Happy landings.
Thank you!
These "older" jets are quite complex and the degree of automation is quite low.
Happy Landings,
Guido
Another awesome video!
Thank you very much, Abraham.
Happy Landings,
Guido
Guido Warnecke I have been watching your videos and enjoy them greatly. Your videos are a huge learning source for me and I always look forward to see more from you! I thank you as I know it takes time to create and edit the videos not to mention that the videos are just a professional as you are as a Pilot.
Kee posting.
Amazing videos, greetings from MMSP.
Thank you very much, Jesús!
Un cordial saludo a San Luis Potosí Y

Thank you very much, Sam.
Happy Landings,
Guido
Love the video keep postin them
Thank you Sean.
Happy Landings,
Capt. Guido
Guido, I just discovered your videos and they are awesome! I've watched almost all of them in the last few weeks. How about one that explains the whole Citation start sequence with enough light on the panels to see what you are doing? Your living my dream ... the best I've been able to fly is a Bonanza.
Happy Landings,
John
Thank you John!
First be assured, that with a Bonanza you fly the best single aircraft ever built And I say this as an avid C210 pilot with 1,200h + on type...
Thanks for you suggestion, I will consider this on the next videos.
Happy landings,
Guido
Great video! Just finished my instrument rating! Moving on to twins. Going to take some time and fly around before starting commercial.
Congratulations - well done, Curtis!
Best of luck for the multi-engine rating and anything that comes after that.
Happy Landings,
Guido
very nice AND informative sir . thank-u
You are very welcome, Ellis!
Happy Landings,
Guido
Nice flight and landing, Guido. Thank you for making and sharing the videos. The published year text on your outro is still 2013, btw.
Thank you Aluisius!
I am always amazed in what details the videos are viewed...
I do a lot of typing errors, but in this case the "2013" was correct. I had older video material which I finally edited.
Happy Landings,
Guido
It gets really busy for sure. I used to fly in LA airspace and things can get complicated if you don't pay attention, imagine in NY. Congrats Guido!
Thank you very much, André.
It's like with all things, you get used to it. We have flight student who train in this area, for them it's the most normal thing in the world...
Happy Landings,
Guido
Great aviation education - thanks

I like to put these videos up on a projection screen in HD -- looks amazing and you can really see everything that's going on. A long one like this is a special treat, thanks!
Thanks Mike.
I hope that RUclips allows higher resolution one day.
The Original video has even higher res.
Happy Landings,
Guido
Guido Warnecke I guess it's possible to do 4K somehow (I've seen a few posted) but I don't know how to create them. But 1080p looks great on the projector already!
Thank you Mike - I will check this.
