Tracing our family history has taken us to Shipton Oliffe and further up the A40 to Compton Abdale. In fact my great great grandfather's grave is in grounds of St Oswald's Church. Unfortunately the headstone is not in situ as it appears to have been broken at some point in time and is now placed next to the perimeter wall of the grave yard. William Williams was his name. He seems to have a link with the Frogmill inn in the 1850s which my sister is trying to establish. Many thanks for taking the time to visit this lovely village.
How i wish I was a dweller there.

Loving the discovery of your wonderful and informative videos. I can’t wait until you feature our little gem of a village Upper Dowdeswell. Just a stones throw from the Shiptons . Keep up the great work!
This is a lovely little place to visit thanks for sharing.
I love these videos. They are so relaxing and comforting. After watching these, I want to move to The Cotswolds. It’s not feasible (I’m American) but I love to dream.
Keep up the good work....Thanks and God bless
👍
Last October we stayed at another Shipton, Shipton Moyne, Tetbury, an even smaller village, a hamlet, with a very likeable B&B/Pub, The Cat and Custard Pot. You should paid a visit to this almost forgotten corner of the Cotswold.
Well you've done it again! I thank you. Looking forward to your next video.
I agree so wonderfully sane and peaceful so well presented. Thanks
Really enjoyed this video Robin, we thought it was one of the best but all your productions are. Maggie the calico cat loves to sit on my lap and watch the video, she takes it all in lol 😂 Informative and descriptive material, thank you from us all here in Albany, Western Australia, Andrew, Grant, Brae the Westie, Xena the Dalmatian and of course Maggie the calico cat ❤😊
Shipton Oliffe is an amazing little village and certainly one of the best in the Cotswolds
I have to argue with you on a very important point. You are our Shakespeare, da Vinci, and old st nick rolled into one human. You speak with beautiful words, you paint masterpieces, and you wrap it up in a pretty little package and give it to us with grace. Thank you kindly.
And two cute little doggies to boot.
Honestly I could listen to you all day your videos have helped me and my family navigate our way around the Cotswolds on many occasions. Your tours and information are invaluable. Thank you 🙏🏻
Mr. Robin, thank you for a useful walk. The view of the area is very colorful... The old chapel, at home... 👍
Thank you for this delightful walk through the Shiptons❤️👏👏👏
Thank you for taking the time to show us. Enchanting. Wishing you the best in New Year .🥰
Love it ! Thank you as always 😊

Outstanding! Thank You and Ross for such interesting work
I have seen beautiful shipton church. Its built beautifully, the facde, the drooping roofs ,bells atop of roof ,they are are exquisite. Moreover the old manor house and barns ,the windows of church letting in the rays of sun ,I cannot help to say they are built with such witdht that one gets wonderful impression.Nevertheless the village is amazing .it's roads and sight of hamlet's are worthwhile, the manuscript on the wall looks like very old,I must at least say that it was not the least of all beautiful sights
Thanks like to have more shorts
Thank you, again.I am still wondering how such places could survie over time and what their inhabitants do for a living, let aside paying the taxes and maintenance for such lovely manor houses !
Thank you🙏✝️🙏🇨🇦
Wonderful video. Great way to start off the New Year.
A delightful haven and what looks like some beautiful restoration work. There are a number of 'Shiptons' in the Cotswolds and i wondered whether you might pay them a visit also (although you may already have done so).
At 4 minutes ,54 seconds you can still see some of the bible paintings from before they were covered up ,so interesting .
Which is the car pictured on 11:58?
Thank you.
Someone must know.
I love uuu
You’re entitled to use repetitive adjectives, particularly the ones you use. Very apt I’d say 😊
Wonderful isn't it.
Yes.
Why the question?
For sure
It's a sort of conversational rhetorical question common in English. It seeks to get the listener's agreement not to cast doubt upon the subject being observed.
I grew up there. Of course - no original villagers are left there. It has become a highly manicured middle class 2nd home enclave.
Your presentation adds something extra, as if you belong here.
