    Man, your work is so impeccable. I am so very glad I found your channel a few years ago. These chisels are just another example of your attention to detail and your creative eye. I love them brother. Really great. ✌️

    Insert crass joke about another man's tool here. These look superb, Sean, fantastic work. Very jealous.

      Eh, guitar building is so full of oppertunity. I always get a chuckle out of telling people that they "need to drill a jack hole"

    Nice looking chisels and the handles you made for them look really good. Looks like they should serve you well for many years.

    I'd love to have a lathe one day. Can't think of anything I'd actually use it for, but it looks like so much fun!

      The lathe is a lot of fun, for sure! You could always get one and figure out what to do with it after the fact 😅

    Really nice work as always. Any plans on building guitars outside of the GGBO? Would love to see more of that in your channel. Your first GGBO guitar was amazing. I have learnt a lot from you. Thank you.

      Thanks for stopping by, I'm glad you enjoyed it.
      I'm a bit time-strapped at the moment, I'm afraid, but I hope to get another build going as soon as I can! I still have a few other projects in the pipeline that I need to get done first.

    What's that beauty hanging on the wall to the left of your bass at 8:24 ? Maybe a new built series coming to the channel? :) Judging by the shape maybe an explorer or a dean ml body type?

      That's a Crimson Guitars master build that I'm doing for my day job, in my "spare time" around teaching.
      Not going to be a channel build, I'm afraid! It's a bit too pointy for me, anyway 😅

    Made it look so easy! When youre drilling out for the tang whats the process with picking drill bit size? Do you match the width of the tang or little smaller/bigger?

    • @AwenLutherieCustomGuitars
      @AwenLutherieCustomGuitars  Год назад +1

      So I started by measuring the size of the tang at the thinnest point. Since these tangs were square I measured along the diagonal, and then I drilled that size deeper than it needed to be. Then I measured halfway along the tang and drilled just over halfway and finally I measured about the thickest part and drilled that about 5-10mm deep. Then test fitting to see where it was binding.
