semantics, but in the strongman case comes from the fact straps add no gain to your strenght they just take away the grip factor so you can deadlift at your top level, is a pure body strenght challengue, wereas in powerlifting deadlift is a body strenght and grip challengue. Plus, this records do not cross each other, so everybody happy. Win win.
Tom's a 2-time WSM in a strong era. Martins, Novikov, Hooper and Brian Shaw are all scalps he can claim. He's a lot more internal than Mitch about it, but I think it's more comp formats that he finds difficult than competitive spirit.

460 kg is not 1115 lol Also that was done with just a belt and this.comp they're using straps. None of the guys in this competition are strong enough to break it strapless

Cant see Thor letting him win tbh and even though Matt has said that his actual deadlifts on video haven't backed up his opinion of what he can achieve. I could be wrong and I do hope to see a battle.
Ragg said he's possibly aiming for 1000 raw. That's an easy 2nd attempt for Thor. And Thor doesn't get much from a suit either lol the guy uses a single ply squat suit

Thanks. With Thor's OH 'weakness', I think a top athlete like Mitch, Tom or Evan who are consistent have a chance of beating him over the whole competition. And, with 16 great athletes all the top four will be pushed, even in their 'banker' events. It's a long two days!
I haven't been a big fan of Mitch's technique/lockout but his last performances have been much better and I think he might surprise a few people.
Loz got Liz to give a prediction without him giving one himself! I feel like she has caught him on that before lol
Ragg said he is wanting to push Thor to a big number
While you’re out there in Colorado, you need to do the blob challenge at Brian‘s gym
BLOBS!
Thats hard with Brians big hands but in other events of like to see loz go up with Brian
I want to see Keri and Brian vs Loz and Liz: a couple's comp.
Hi guys, when is this new event? Where can we watch it?
3 attempts with choose your weight (i assume it is a rising bar) is a very interesting setup, more akin to weightlifting
Only difference I can tell is rounds for the athletes. It'll rise each round, but all athletes lift each round.
I have no idea why they call it a raw deadlift if they're using straps.
semantics, but in the strongman case comes from the fact straps add no gain to your strenght they just take away the grip factor so you can deadlift at your top level, is a pure body strenght challengue, wereas in powerlifting deadlift is a body strenght and grip challengue.
Plus, this records do not cross each other, so everybody happy. Win win.
Because it's the raw version of strongman, No figure 8, no suit. They have other events to test grip strength
Ladies and gentlemen, the strongest man who ever lived, Hafthor Bjornsson!!!

Loz/Liz, do you know what the weight jumps are? Can you chip someone by 5 pounds, 1 pound etc
Is there any way to watch SMOE online?
I don't think Tom is as competitive as Mitch. Mitchell hates being beaten - that's what drives him.
Tom's a 2-time WSM in a strong era. Martins, Novikov, Hooper and Brian Shaw are all scalps he can claim. He's a lot more internal than Mitch about it, but I think it's more comp formats that he finds difficult than competitive spirit.
@@elvikingobarbaroja3 time WSM
@@elvikingobarbaroja It seems like Tom really shows up for WSM. Having been watching Stoltmans content on youtube for some years now his energy is on a whole different level everytime when WSM is coming up compared to the other big comps, he is like a different man,.
Thor will come straight in and lift 450 and wait to see if anybody gets close.
Thor beat the record by 1kg in his perfect conditions. Eddie beat it by 30 or 40kg in a competition. But neither of them is as epic of a deadlifter as Benni
Eddie had more of a perfect condition then Thor, Eddie decided his weight jumps and how long he rests between his lifts, Thor couldn't decide any of that.
It's kind of a silly question. Any of us that compete or watch Strongman know that Thor is literally the strongest raw deadlifter in human history. However, the real question is, who is gonna be 2nd and 3rd? The battle for 2nd and 3rd has me excited this year. Thor = easily #1.
How do they determine the order of lift? Based on the number they will do? Highest numbers go last?
Whats the point of worlds strongest man titles when you are not facing the strongest men. SMOE is the only comp that brings those guys together.
Mateuz is missing sadly
Watched Hafthor squat 355kg x 5 (paused)
Then Andrew jacked full legwork video a few days out of Texas pro and now Big loz & Auntie Liz
It's a good day
Dude, Hafthor squatted 380kg x 5 (paused) --- not 355.
Lol. 460 isn’t crazy. Lizzy has gone crazy.
what is the actual raw deadlift record? not including sumo lifts
Three attempts like in powerlifting sounds great.
Thor always pulls his biggest lift in competition and is great at peaking. I think any other athlete beating him would be a giant shock.
Matt Ragg is going to lift something big, somewhere close to 1000lbs
Nothing too crazy maybe 460 😅
that's not crazy for Thor
Is there any news about Asko Karu?
Thor wins with 450kg
Benedict magnusson has the greatest raw deadlift of all time
I used to agree but there's been speculation on if the weight was legit. Konstantnovs pulled 939 in a full powerlifting meet at only 275 and he did it 100 percent raw(no belt)
Who is Brian Shaw and Eddie Hall are the strongest two men in the world
We all know Thor is going to crush this one, forgone conclusion
WR raw DL (conventional) is 460KG/1115lbs. Will we see that broken?
460 kg is not 1115 lol
Also that was done with just a belt and this.comp they're using straps.
None of the guys in this competition are strong enough to break it strapless
Thor wins, but with strategy, I think he'll have to work for it.
Deadlift top 6 in order
Thor
Ragg
Hooper
Andrade
Tom
Bobby
It’s a shame Adam Bishop isn’t in top form to show a MASSIVE raw deadlift!
Obviously Thor will win.
When are straps considered raw? Raw is belt only
Raw is completely naked only
Raw is no belt
raw is without training
Underated Matt Ragg is gonna push Thor or possibly win because in his interview with Brian he did mention that his raw deadlift is about the same as suited because he is not very comfortable with suits and don't really get much more out of it so lookout
@@Adam-bw6dj From where did you get this info?
@@paul_oliver_duggan29 His instagram videos, where else?
I don't think we're going to see what Thor is capable of raw at all, because I don't think he can be pushed to his max. The next few places are going to be very exciting though.
I always say Pavlo is the biggest what if during the 505kg talk. Wish he was 100%
Hafthor by a country mile. Others are weak relative to him. It's such a pity nobody can push him to break Jerry's record. He will not exert himself unless he is not challenged. Why should he? It's a waste of energy and we can't blame him.
You're meatriding at this point
@@wanderer_oti He has a valid point. The winner is already Thor even before they start the event. It's sad that there's nobody who can push Thor a little. Hopefully Rogue invitational will have a max deadlift event and with a worthy enough set of opponents who can challenge the big man
@@paul_oliver_duggan29they should have invited this Iranian guy imao
@@commentwarriorabsolutely, it’s sad he’s kind of screwed
The name strongest man on earth should be changed. We alread have wsm every year.... now the wsm title will only last 6 months...
is it strapless too? like totally raw?
nope its "strongman raw", so no suit and no figure 8 straps, normal straps are allowed
Matt at World's this year won the deadlift and he didn't wear a suit iirc.
No 1 has yet to bet bene magnason raw no strap at a powerlifting met record been held since 2014
well no one even came close to pushing thor and his 450 was easy
Bennedikt Magnusson
Jerry Pritchett
MITCH HOOPA🤠 has a way of finding out others strengths and he comes in and beats you, Look how he beat Mateusz at his farmers walk, and thats Mateusz event, HOOPA might win the Deadlift.
Thor is the Strongest Deadlifter on Planet Earth.
I see thor first attempt around 1010 or 1020 just so he doesn't have to do a try a second or 3rd like bobby did
💪💪💪
Is suited Tom really at his best though ? He never pulled 1k or close to it. I feel like he can place top 4-6
Y’all are sleeping on my boy Evan
