When I saw the notification I didn't see the whole thing and I thought that the next 1:8 supercar will be the McLaren F1 and I got way too excited. Still the f1 car is the set I look forward to the most so I'm happy :).
Rumours have it that the real MCL36 will have front pull rod suspension. I'm hoping Lego will bring new springs which will be working for tension rather than compression.
You can still use compressive springs with pull-rod suspension. And F1 cars don't even use springs anymore for suspension. They have a torsion bar in front.
It actually makes sense for Lego to make an F1 car since they already have an 8 speed gearbox ready-to-go from the previous super cars. The real life F1 also uses an 8 speed transmission.
because I thought too, he should have written f1 da Maclaren, but maybe only the Petroheads when they think of Maclaren F1, they really think about the car with that name
@@thechineserussian That wouldn't be a big problem I guess because they would've had to pay licensing costs for the sponsors on the Formula E and Ferrari GT3 car too.
between the merc set and now this one, i couldn't be happier! even though im not the biggest merc fan in the world i am definitely picking that set up. and with McLaren being my favorite f1 team, i have a lot to look forward to this year. here's hoping they make more f1 related sets!
I am so stoked that we are finally getting a new Technic F1 set. I have 42000, the 1:8 Ferrari, Williams, Silver Champion, and the smaller 8386 1:10 Ferrari and non technic 1:9 Ferrari (very cool by the way), but all those sets are so old now. They still look great but I have been crossing my fingers forever and giving up on a return. I'm so happy its a McLaren.
Would like to see... Crankshafts that are not just for 4 or 8 cylinder engines. So that means options for adjacent cranks at 120 degrees (for 3/6/12 cylinders) and 144 degrees for 5 / 10 cylinders. That would make me very happy. (I have no idea what is common in F1 these days, though.)
Wait so if it is the same car under hood as the lego replica, im pretty sure it will be the 2021 f1 car, because the rear wing in the 2022 season will be rounded and curved, but from the picture it looks quite edgy so I predict that it will be a 2021 car
Can't wait for this car! Hopefully it has DRS and easily removeable tires and front wing (for pit stops) as well as accurate venturi tunnels and aero if it is the 2022 car.
i agree, though there is going to be the most piece count on the next car so it cant be electric it would have to have working motor functions and an f1 car has open wheels and suspension doesn't have a roof so it can't be a F1 car in my opinion
I really want to see a working DRS system and an accurate looking f1 steering wheel and I think the DRS system is actually possible with some good designing since the set is probably going to be a technic set
Airbags! Jk. Great video friend!!! I’ve been watching so many of your reviews and demonstrations. I’m building a collection presently: currently I have the SP3, M1000RR, and Porsche 911…turbo of course. Cheers!!!
I just really hope it will be 1:8 scale. With a minimum of 2500 pieces. I don't care if it doesn't fit the Porsche Bugatti etc line. I just like 1:8 big sets of cars.
Everyone is probably thinking of the MCL36 meanwhile me who was thinking of the Gordon Murray designed Mclaren F1 road car that has the 3 seats with a V12 engine
Kinda wish it was a 1/8th scale ford F350 pick up with trailer or flatbed or roll back. Something to transport the big cars. That would be cool. And expensive...
0:52 I am very excited about the existence of the formula 1 in lego teechnic version and it has one week from the presentation of the real one. I hope it has a 8 speed gearbox with v6, adjustable suspension, molded tires and nuvi panels for the rear and front. The surprise under the cloth was nice
Hey I was curious about your LEGO rally car on the right side adjacent to where you sit, isn’t it supposed to have red wheels and a bright blue and white paint scheme number 67? I hope I’m not seeing things because I got two by accident for Christmas a few years back when it came out. If it’s some special edition I’m curious to know the details! Thanks
Haha, great video tease!! I really thought you had a review sample. Can't wait for the new set though. My bank account is getting very worried - new Speed Champions, new Technics and new Harry Potter. Help!!
Initially I thought that the next 1:8 supercar was going to be the McLaren F1 🤩, then I realized that it's going to be the Formula 1 car, instant disappointment 😕
i knew it was going to be either a mercedes AMG project one until i seen the speed champions car but i knew it was going to be Mclaren for my runner up choice
I can't wait to buy it because I have high expectations on this supercar. New pieces, good price, and PLEASE some sort of functionality (*cough cough* Ferrari)
@@RacingBrick i may not be a lego expert, but I've watched f1 for years and know what the 2022 car means to the sport and to mclaren. If lego made the 2022 car, they did it based on rendering images, and they didn't even know what type of suspension the real car has. Also there is little to no information about how the teams are gonna make the rear wings with drs, even after the haas car reveal today
When I saw the notification I didn't see the whole thing and I thought that the next 1:8 supercar will be the McLaren F1 and I got way too excited. Still the f1 car is the set I look forward to the most so I'm happy :).
Same here, McLaren F1, masterpiece of Gordon Murray, is a totally different car I would love to see from Lego :D
Same, i hope they’ll do 1:8 90s to early 00s supercars
Same here wish it was a mclaren f1 and not a mclaren f1 car
Dude me too 😭😭😭
THE mclaren F1 is far too old for lego.
In the new McLaren F1 car should be : removable front wing, rear wing with a DRS, and a steering wheel.
Yes! Some Drs version would be cool.
Those are all highly plausible functions! I hope we get a working transmission as well.
Also needs a full sized V6, suspension and ideally a simulated turbo connected to the transmission.
Rumours have it that the real MCL36 will have front pull rod suspension. I'm hoping Lego will bring new springs which will be working for tension rather than compression.
You don't need tension springs for pull rod suspension
@@boudewijnb yes, but imagine they would introduce it
You can still use compressive springs with pull-rod suspension. And F1 cars don't even use springs anymore for suspension. They have a torsion bar in front.
@@StuntpilootStef Wow, thanks, haven't thought of that. Didn't really pay close attention to F1 front suspension lately.
F1 cars don't use normal springs, they normally use torsion bars for springs.
It actually makes sense for Lego to make an F1 car since they already have an 8 speed gearbox ready-to-go from the previous super cars. The real life F1 also uses an 8 speed transmission.
Not going to happen at this model, it has too low piece count.
I got so hyped for a minute until I saw the image. I thought it was THE McLaren F1
That would be so awesome!
indeed
because I thought too, he should have written f1 da Maclaren, but maybe only the Petroheads when they think of Maclaren F1, they really think about the car with that name
A working DRS flat would be cool, along with realistic wheel nuts so we can practise our pit stops! XD
that is a really cool idea i hope my pet rats can learn how to do pitstops
@@apexracing9479 true, the nuts are probably going to be just one stud wide
I'm just praying for it having the Gulf livery from last year's Monaco race. Doubtful, but one can dream.
they would need to pay licensing costs to gulf as well as McLaren to use the gulf livery
@@thechineserussian That wouldn't be a big problem I guess because they would've had to pay licensing costs for the sponsors on the Formula E and Ferrari GT3 car too.
I cant stop looking at the Unimog

I've been waiting years for a lego F1 partnership
I want to see a fully functional DRS plate. It's about time we saw some new technic techniques appart from the usual ice and transmission ones
The new lego f1 car looks stunning ! xD
"The 42000 ... released 9 years ago" Damn I suddenly feel really old
Awesomeness! Definitely buying it

From 2014 F1 cars use V6 engines so a crank with a 120° offset would be perfect
I hope this is 1:8 scale model....
More insane Gonna be 1:5 scale car model 🔥🔥🔥
Hope it’s 1:12 scale
Its gonna have +/- 1400 pieces, so more like Doms Charger scale
Need to keep it small enough for fans of F1 (and not necessarily Lego) to be able to display it easily.
Have a feeling that lego will be released when the car is released
The McLaren MCL36 will be revealed in the 11th of February, so that means they might also reveal the Lego technic McLaren f1 car that date too.
That's highly likely! They've already spilled the beans once in this video: ruclips.net/video/xKuYH1Dmy44/видео.html
He got us in the first part ngl
Love to see the McLaren in the Gulf Livery as they did in Monaco

Yep. There is a back to the future Delorean set rumoured for April.

Maybe this f1 car should have active aero and should be motorised? That would be nice.
Active aero wouldnt be possiblr if you think realistic but just movi g parys would be nice
I wish it was possible
but able to move the aero is what I mean, manual or automatic I don't mind

tech features of course steering and the engine running but i'd also like DRS :D

hybrid powerunit ;-)
Accurate tires should be a must. Not really interested but thats the most important.

It has been a while since I've been excited for a new Technic set... let's hope it won't cost 200€+
Of course it will cost that much+ being a 1:8

Why not Ferrari SF21? Or a classic F1 car like Williams FW14b or a Lotus 79.
Oh my god
Hopes crushed, I thought you meant the McLaren F1 road car, now that would be amazing!
Nice tease with the covered up model.
I did say a few days ago that it would be the McLaren F1.
They should add a battery pack, and turbos u can spin
You Lego tease. You got my bricks all hard for what was under that sheet.
How much do you think it will cost?
I also think that the new set was going to be THAT McLaren F1, you know the super rad one with his BMW v12 hitting nearly 400KmPH without a turbo...

McLaren F1 and the
McLaren F1 GTR
