I don’t know why people thought Ayton was better than Luka when Luka played against pros at 16 while Ayton was in high school probably playing against lesser competition
Could it be because American sports fans only watch athletes from, and playing in, America? How many people do you honestly believe follow Euro League basketball, individual players specifically? Outside of the Olympics, no one cares about who plays in/for other countries. They said Giannis was drafted too high and he was booed because no one here knew who he was. Remember, at one point, even the NBA was an unknown commodity outside of the US. It took Jordan coming along to expand the game's popularity. The problem for other countries is that most of their best players are already in the NBA/G-League due to them moving here to make a name for themselves. So there isn't enough talent left in those countries for leagues to sign big tv deals with companies and garner global attention like they'd want. Jerry Krause of the Bulls and Greg Popovich(Back when he was coach and GM) of the Spurs are the two that that pioneered scouting European talent, and the only other guys to carry that torch used to work under the two of them. Kob did exaclly the same thing what MJ did for Dream team, he set the tone, brought in the winning mentality, he was not looking to score the most points, he looked at the team he had and went for aspect of the game he saw the team was lacking and it was defense, and he took on himself as the leader to have assignment of defending best players on opponents teams.

kobe is like the john cena of nba, they're are the people who introduced me to the sports that i loved especially as a kid.. they're my childhood heroes
Coach Daly could have coached any USA basketball team and formed them into a complete unit. He coached the bad boys. And as Charles Barkley said "If you can coach those a**holes, u can coach anybody."
People can see now the mentality of MJ went twice to the Olympics and both gold medal never lost in that stage same as finals and NCAA ,Kobe lebron those guys can win but to win need a lot of talent around them and lots of tries winning is different than try or compete
Larry Brown was to blame. Coach K set the chemistry. Jason Kidd brought leadership. Kobe Bryant set the tone. Everyone one else just did what they normally did.
There are different types of Leadership. Kobe and Lebron were complementary in that regard. Kobe lead by example, setting the tone on the training before practice, setting the tone on defense, showing other players he was willing to dive for the loose ball, to aks to guard the best player on the other team, and in one word, toughness. That being said, he lacked the communication skills either because he didn't want to do it, or didn't known how to do it. Lebron in the other hand, was the vocal leader of that Olympic team. He was the one to call upon other errors, to acknowledge he had no excuses to lose and to make every one feel included in that team, in especial Kobe himself. That allowed for the team to be together and not a collection of stars such as the 2023 USA Fiba team. You can watch coach K and other players saying both Kobe and Lebron were the leaders. So one leadership doesn't have to undermine the other. Lebron's leadership style back then lacked the toughness necessary to win. If I had to choose, I would pick Kobe. But as seen with Shaq before, it could implode a great team too.
Regarding 2006, not having Kobe hurt, but the real culprit for their loss to Greece was terrible PnR defense. Greece shot 63% from the field in that semifinal game. That's unacceptable at any level, especially for the US that generally excels at D. Kobe would've helped here, but it was a team-wide failure that one perimeter defender couldn't singlehandedly fix.
2000 - 2002 was Shaq's 2003 - 2005 was Tim Duncan's 2006 - 2010 was Kobe's Though u can argue that Bron was up there with Kobe because Bron was absolutely dominant those years winning back to back mvps and reaching Finals once with a very underwhelming team and beating the still great Detroit Pistons. The whole 2010s is Lebron's decade. The media and whole nba did everything they could to remove rings from Lebron's fingers. Creating a super superteam in the process.
After a stressful and long NBA season travelling back and forth around USA, not all the best players who are regularly playing almost 40min per game, not all want to travel to another tournament like Olympics or World cup, They want to relax and give to their families the time they deserve too. Sorry fans.
Kobe brought a dominant energy that no one else in the NBA embodied in the 00’s.

Wasn’t Lebron playing with greats and why nobody saying the fact that Wade was already a champion. A champion “Wade” that had to hold Lebron hand and give him a ring. That wasn’t KOBE running teams to teams and throwing his teammates under the bus to win. Who needed help more? KOBE made me want to go out there and give it my best and take responsibility win, lose or draw. 8,24 long live the real King
Can’t wait to watch the Redeem team Doc later today on Netflix. I been waiting on this one. I’m a be hella sad cause Kobe was my guy. But I gotta see how he willed us to the W
12 players on the team, and yet we say one "saved" the team.
As usual, if someone great dies his value goes up quite a bit.
Bron single handedly secured gold here. What a player. Kobe, Wayde, Kid, were side kicks, not needed at all.
kobe really changed everything kobe carry them all
Damn I love this guy...R.I.P. KOBE... THE REAL G.O.A.T.❤❤❤💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼💯💯💯😉
Kobe was best SG from 2000-2010 … he da caramel Cat Jordan da Black cat 💯
The movie Redeem team solidifies Kobe's legacy and Tough mentality and MJ's The last dance proves that He is the GOAT
3:28 No let me correct that Statement, Kobe Missed the Playoffs Only 1 Time at that point, not Multiple Times. Everything else I completely agree with and you did a Wonderful job with this video.
Kobe- 'Make America Great Again' in basketball
Yup 💯 Kobe saved Team USA from day 2 if you listen closely that's when the whole team united and realized the importance of winning!
Nigh Wright, are you watching this? You said that not one year did Kobe was the best player in the league 🤮 Coach K wants a word with you.
LEGENDARY...
Without Kobe. The USA would have not won that gold medal game. Further more the work ethic he taught told the younger players changed all of their careers.
kobe is like the john cena of nba, they're are the people who introduced me to the sports that i loved especially as a kid.. they're my childhood heroes
Kobe is why they won 🥇
"I had a lot of concerns, that's why we recruited Kobe Bryant"
The difference between stat padder and clutch gamer period.. Shhhhhhh🔥
They had the nerves to called this team's lebum team foh 😒🤦🏾♂️ that was Kobe's team
Lebron would never go out of his way to guard the perimeter. Kobe was a savage and a defensive juggernaut.
Kobe is top 3 of all time
Top two u meant😂
@@pedrogutierrez5644 yeah I did
Coach Daly could have coached any USA basketball team and formed them into a complete unit. He coached the bad boys. And as Charles Barkley said "If you can coach those a**holes, u can coach anybody."
0:33 sweet dime by MJ to sir Charles
both Kobe and Wade were unfaced of the pressure
Kobe’s just the goat that’s all
damn, I miss the old NBA
Clothes for those that claim that Tim Duncan is better than Kobe remember when Duncan lost in the Olympics
SO SAD WERE MISSING THEM REAL GOATS OF THE GAME MJ KOBE CURRY KD gave gold to USAB🙏 🎉👏👍💪
LeBron James. Curry never play in Olympics.
@@johnlemon2916 i never said olympics jst gold for USAB who le bronze?🤣🤣🤣🤣
@@rioalcones9136 you never watched 2008-12 Olympics don't you old man?
@@johnlemon2916 hey BOY lebronze won BRONZE wd TD AI🎉👏🤣👍💪08 needed KOBE KD CURRY AD to win GOLD?🤣 not him leading
@@rioalcones9136 I'm sorry to call you old man, I guess you're a kid since Curry, KD and AD wasn't part of '08 Olympics team and shows your Bbal IQ.
KOBE🏀
People can see now the mentality of MJ went twice to the Olympics and both gold medal never lost in that stage same as finals and NCAA ,Kobe lebron those guys can win but to win need a lot of talent around them and lots of tries winning is different than try or compete
I was routing for Spain in 08 and 12 as an American.
Magic and Bird saved basketball. Jordan made it worldwide. Kobe and LeBron just supporting the structure that was built before them.
That 4 point play from the 3 point line just sucked the air out.
I never understand why some of these big names won't play in the Olympics now. I would love to win a easy gold medal.
Lakers fans always liked Kobe, dont get it twisted
Jason Kidd looking around the room at "they had a true point guard in Chris Paul"
Tim Duncan needs to be accountable too. It’s never mentioned that he was on this team. There’s no way Kobe would allow them to lose.
Bron for me was the star point guard in 2008 Redeem Team. The star was either Kobe or Dwade
2000 - 2002 was Shaq's
2003 - 2005 was Tim Duncan's
2006 - 2010 was Kobe's
Though u can argue that Bron was up there with Kobe because Bron was absolutely dominant those years winning back to back mvps and reaching Finals once with a very underwhelming team and beating the still great Detroit Pistons.
The whole 2010s is Lebron's decade. The media and whole nba did everything they could to remove rings from Lebron's fingers. Creating a super superteam in the process.
can't even say 2010s were all his. I'd argue it was more steph or at least a huge chunk of it.
DON'T FORGET BOUT LEBRON AND KOBE MVP PUPPETS
Nah brons sharing that with curry.
This video is pretty good
LeBRONZ can never touch KOBE in my eyes...
Ginobli beating Team USA on Argentina is insane … then continues with the NBA season lol
Another reason why if you don't have Kobe and MJ is your top two greatest of all time you don't know basketball and you shouldn't ever talk sports
After a stressful and long NBA season travelling back and forth around USA, not all the best players who are regularly playing almost 40min per game, not all want to travel to another tournament like Olympics or World cup, They want to relax and give to their families the time they deserve too. Sorry fans.
1 man, 1 MAN
