The way Isabelle fails to realize that William didn't even know she was interested in him in the first place... He can't wait if he doesn't know he is supposed to. The man isn't psychic. Yandere brain is troublesome like that, I suppose. Though, if he WAS psychic Lizzy and C.C.would never have been born because Isabelle wouldn't have survived her first time in private alone with him. His self control may be good, but not THAT good. So the trade off is either Terrence and Mike never die and William lives out his life as a single dad, or everything that happened after Isabelle blackmailed him into marrying her. Can't really say one would be better than the other because even with Isabelle in the picture there were happy moments in the Afton home with the littlest ones. And, yes, I am turning the events of your AU into an logical debate with myself over the ethicality of condemning one known sequence of events that end badly for one that seems more pleasant at first glance, but may still come to a bad end because life is just like that sometimes. My brain likes to entertain itself doing that sort of thing and I don't know how to make it stop...beyond watching grown men try to be funny while playing video games. Guess what I'm going to be doing next...
