The main thing for me with Salah is that in the past few months he has been expected to score/assist each game and he has still delivered. This is exactly why he isn't a one season wonder anymore.

Quinlan Why Rooney and Owen? Are you talking about their first seasons in the PL? If so, Salah is 25, they were teenagers when they broke through at Everton and Liverpool respectively. Not really a fair comparison to make.

Quinlan I don't know how you can say they're biased towards United, they're constantly criticizing them along with most of the other top 6 teams. The only team that can do no wrong is City, Sky continuously compare their current team to some of the greats when they're way off that level at the moment. Regarding Salah, nobody is saying that he's not a great player, they're simply just asking whether he can maintain his form for more than just this season. Stupid question to ask before he's even finished one season though, nobody is putting him down.

Highly doubt he will be a one season wonder, if he can score over 40 goals in a season again is up for debate but I’m confident he’ll get over 30 and be up there competing for prem top goal scorer again. If you look at his figures he had a goal or assist almost every game for his last two seasons at Roma, now he’s not getting as many assists but is scoring a hell of a lot more, add that into him playing for a very attacking, high scoring team, it’s a match made in heaven. I can’t see him disappearing. Liverpool scored 80 goals last year in the prem and currently are on 80 goals with 3 games to go so will score more then last year but only a hand full more.. and there was no Salah last year... that should show you that this Liverpool team will always be a high scoring one. Now the whole team is set up around him, to maximise his goal scoring potential and as long as salah’s playing for klopp he will be scoring for fun.
If he moves to Real Madrid then yes, coz he must pass the ball to Ronaldo rather than scoring by himself. in LFC he continues progressing i am sure

Even if Salah has 20+ goals next season that’s still good. But to try get 40+ is asking a lot in addition to his assists. That’s Ronaldo and Messi standards. I’ll be hoping he can at least replicate the same stats next season.

Hello there. I come here from 2024, where Mohammed Salah has become the first player in Liverpool’s history to score at least 20 goals in 7 consecutive seasons.
He has improved immensely. At the start of the season he panicked in front of goal. Now his veins are ice cold. If Salah keeps playing like this until the end of the year he will win the Ballon D'Or.

No he isn't. He's joined Liverpool on the back of 2 and half good seasons in Italy and an extremely prolific international career of over 50 caps. It seems to be forgotten that he scored 19 goals last season in the Italian league from a wide midfield role which is absolutely an impressive season in my eyes.

No, he's clearly not. Salah had a fantastic spell at Roma. Followed by an even better 2 seasons at Roma in which he scored 29 GOALS! And this year, well, we don't really have to tell you because you already know. He's 25 years old and will only continue to improve. When u look at the goals, he almost scores every game. When u reach a high level u will keep that for a long time.

Most one season wonders (Michu, Vardy etc.) will finish with a goal tally in the low-mid twenties, only playing in one or two competitions, and just win the golden boot in a season with few great scorers. Salah has is going to beat the PL goal record, is performing great in the CL, and could win the it.

Sky Sports pundits, as usual, perpetuating ideas which, in football are already established, they never add anything new to the debates (with the exceptions of Jamie and Gary) they get paid exorbitant sums to reiterate ideas surmised by football meme pages several months prior. I am astounded by the very basic level at which professionals who have been involved in the sport for the entirety of their career communicate. I like the debate and realise that you can be clutching at straws for things to talk about (Sky's fault anyway for doing it every night as they feel they need to give something more for the expensive costs of having it) but this is such a ridiculous question to ask for obvious reasons... and the answer is simply no because his attributes will keep getting him goals (positioning, finishing, speed, dribbling etc etc)

Those goals require skills that only a handful of players ever even had ability to do.
