@TylersReelFishing thinking about getting a bait caster soon hopefully you review that new reel from lews soon the 280 one! Keep doing what you are doing 🔥
Hey Tyler, I am 18 and I’m leaving for basic training here in 3 weeks becoming an infantryman, this year I’ve done a lot of kayak bass fishing especially getting into the tournament scene. Your videos have actually helped a lot and I’ve caught a heck of a lot more fish than I ever have. My plan is to get a boat sometime in the next year or two depending on how busy I am after the military. I would like to try to fish professionally in the boat scene. Last weekend I got into the coolest top water spook/frog bite I got an hour worth of footage and thought of making a video. Just wanted to say your videos help out a lot.
A true master is not afraid to share his secrets. Thanks Tyler, you converted me to bass fishing and I can’t believe I waited until I was 29 to start. Thanks for all you do.
Tyler love this video for the creative content creator you just help build ease the process for them. If creators can take and maximize these great ideas it will help produce awesome content for RUclips. Appreciate the time you put into these videos and will utilize these ideas for myself as well thank you Tyler again you nailed another great video! Tight lines!
I just started making videos. It's WAYYYY more involved than I would have ever imagined. Definitely appretiate guys like you doing it at a high level! Great video!
Thanks for this in so much detail! I just use a chest harness and my phone for now, funny how the wind is diabolical for fisherman and fisherman content creators 😅
Ive been waiting for a video like this . I asked the other tyler (from bass fishing hq) if he would ever make one like this and he said probably not.. but i think you are more knowledgeable in this kind of stuff anyway cuz its your main job.. so thank you for this
@@TylersReelFishing oh yeah definitely, wasn't hating on him at all just disappointed he said no haha.. so glad you made this man, gotta son that's interested in making videos
Thank you, Tyler! Your humility is showing giving your tricks away. I agree with the GoPro audio being the best - sometimes. You're an inspiration of mine. God bless
Note about GoPro's - they took the GPS out of the 12. Location is really handy for a fishing video, so don't get anything newer than the 11. The 12 is tempting because it lets you use a Bluetooth microphone, but it results in lousy audio - not worth giving up the GPS. Tyler is 1000% right about the importance of audio. Nothing makes me click away from a video faster than bad audio.
@TylersReelFishing of course! Found a really old gopro (think it was called the hero +) and decided to film a trip. Loved it but need way better quality so this really helped.
These videos help me so much as a new Angler. I’m from Florida so it’s almost in my blood to fish 😂 but it always a vibe learning new tips and Tyler is hella authentic.
Snap mounts make a great magnetic mount that you can outfit your chest mount with. No more cutting your shirts. I run this setup, and the magnetics are super strong.
@@TylersReelFishing Didn't use the lanyard just the backing plate which I mounted directly to my chest mount. The magnets are strong enough to hold with no issues.
I use external power also! But I still have to use a battery even tho it has enough power taht the camera suggest it needs to not use one. I’m not sure why it does that but I ordered a power box to strap onto my kayak that I will run power from while I’m on the yak! It will also last a lot longer than the battery pack!
Good stuff! Man, I bought the "NEEWER" brand wireless mic, similar to the DJI you have there but only $90 for the setup. I'm sure it's not the exact same quality, but it made my audio 100x better! Also, may be worth mentioning the external mic option for the GoPro. You can get that setup with a fuzzy on the boat and it cuts the wind decently. The Ulanzi case makes it pretty easy, even with a chesty. On the boat I think I've got to go with console GoPro. Anything else and my coangler will definitely take it out!
Man I needed this! Thank you for sharing. I fish and film in Louisiana using my iPhone on a chest mount. Does the mic help cut out the bug sounds? For example: crickets, locusts, even tree frogs? They seem to mess up my audio more than wind. Your advice is appreciated!
Hey man love the video. New to filming my fishing videos. If I’m filming at the beach with my GoPro on a chest mount. Do you think I need have an external mic? I’m a noob with editing so wanted something that synced with my go pro for when I’m editing. Anything under $100 you’d recommend? Also when filming all day what size memory card do you use? That seems like it would take up a ton of storage
Tyler this was hugely helpful! The only thing I didn't notice was what "zoom" setting you set your GoPro to when it's on your chest vs mounted on the boat. Sometimes I'm not sure if I should go super-wide angle or not because it gives it that fisheye look. Sub question, I have a friend named Tyler but he spells it Tylor. Can you help me explain to him why that's wrong?
Awesome videos!!! I’m starting a channel with my wife for inshore fishing. A lot of good info in your filming videos. My question is, I’m putting a cart together now and would you still pick up a hero 10 today or would you grab something else? Also for mics I’m looking at the Dji mic 1 and 2. Will the mic connect to the GoPro wirelessly or are you recording on the mic and adding it to the video? I’m totally new and just jumping right in lol. Thanks for any info. Was also looking at the media mod if I go with the hero 10
Hero 10 has been really good for me. But no, the DJI mics don’t connect wirelessly to a GoPro. You can get the GoPro media-mod, and that will connect to the DJI received via cable, that’s what I’d recommend, or just get the DJI action 4 or 5, and the mic wirelessly connects
@ thanks for the reply! I went ahead and got 2 hero 11’s. Went out this weekend to see how everything performs. All went well except for one of the cameras kept getting a Repairing file? Also the wind noise with the media mod was horrible, so I ordered the Dji mic that will be here today. I got the first edition to save a little. I reformatted the SD card in the one camera to hopefully get rid of the SD card issue. I have it running right now to see if I get an error. Thanks again for the great video and response! 👍🏻
Hmm, like 3 feet. I know Yolotek makes a longer one, but you really don't need it to be any longer. You can check out the taddo at the link in my video description
@tylersreelfishing Great video brother!...Quick question: How "snug" do you make your chest mount?...It seems one setting is too lose, and becomes a wee bit "shaky, the next setting, I cant breathe... Haha (Using GoPro10 with stabilization on)...
Hi Tyler! Thanks for your tips! I have the GoPro Hero 8 Black, is it safe to use it without the hard plastic protective case in saltwater environment? I fish on rocks. Thanks!
Loved this video. Especially appreciated the "reasons why" for everything you use. Personally, I have always disliked the chest mount because I like to see how the lure is being retrieved and the strikes, especially on topwater. Too many content creators hands get in front of the camera during the cast and the hook ups. I like how you explained your solutions. (I do watch Ty's Pig Patrol and NDYAKANGLER's channels and like and appreciate the headgear shots and angle.) I also watch everything on my computer and 36 inch 4K monitor. I usually have it set to 2K (2560 x 1440) so most channels videos are not sharp and crisp which is a problem for me. Also, a lot of the 1080p videos I watch are not very good quality. I'm guessing that may have do with the FPS setting. ??? Any ideas on that? (For example, Creek Fishing Adventures has great content and camera work, but the video picture quality is not great.) Now I know how you keep your audio so good as well. Lastly, I loved your studio segment. That lighting setup is awesome! Thanks for taking the time to put this together. It was informative and a joy to watch content wise. (although I still would have preferred at least 2K) Oh.. one thing you didn't mention that is REALLY important. SD Card speed and quality! ...Thanks again for sharing. Blessings!
The problem is, you’re ahead of the curve in terms of watching quality. Most people don’t film/edit in anything above 1080p, because it’s large file sizes and hard on graphics cards and RAM. So you’ve come to expect 4K stuff, when most people don’t even put that out yet. And yes, if I do one on editing in depth, I’ll talk about read/write speeds
@@TylersReelFishing I agree. I also don't quite understand why more subscribers don't "like" videos or why more people that consistently watch videos don't actually subscribe to a channel. I wonder how many folks watch on their phones? I think that makes a big difference.
