A320 Audio Control Panel (ACP)

In this video we go into more detail about the Airbus A320 Communication system. We explain the use of the audio control panel. Often concussing to pilots in the initial type rating, we shed some light on the controls and how to use the ACP. We clarify the difference between reception knobs and transmission keys. We also talk about how to communicate internally through the interphone system and how to communicate with ground crew, cabin crew, ATC and transmit over the Public Address system (PA).

Hi Sir, when pilot need to talk with mechanic, they use the toggle in "int" or "N" position? Thanks for your answer.

Hi Chi, that depends. When in the neutral position the transmission will only happen when you use the boom mic of push the push-to-talk on on either side stick. If you set the toggle to INT then you have what we call a “hot mic” where all audio picked up by the mic is transmitted automatically without having to push and release the push-to-talk buttons.
