- Modded minecraft server with friends? That's right! in this video I show you how to play with your friends in modded minecraft using the Essential mod! It's super simple and easy to use and to get set up to play with your friends. All you need is an instance with fabric or forge and to download the essential mod!
If essential mod doesnt work for you the use Aternos to host a free minecraft server for you. You may also get a paid host such as Pufferfish.host to make a premium server for you.

I really cannot understand why Mojang hasnt added this option into vanilla minecraft. Do they want us to play with friends or not?
I don’t think they do man. Like we spent like what $30 on this game and not allow us to play this with friends for free

@@kata5398 realm isn’t that fun. I think like for modded Minecraft it’s way fun with friends or solo sometimes but this mod is hella nice and better than realm.

This video really helped me me and my girlfriend started on our “dream world” on bedrock but she just got a pc we used aternos it got laggy but this was perfect and easy I cant wait to make a dream world with her in atm 8
wow, honestly thanks because I'm sick of having to open an aternos server and watch an ad to do it, then watch it open for 5 mins, then play on a mostly laggy server (still fun tho)

I've been wondering if this was possible for so long, thanks. I'm still wondering why Java hasn't added support for P2P hosted servers. Realms doesn't have full mod support so people usually go to third-party hosting services anyways.

We are trying to set it up so both if us me and my friend can play independently. The problem is sharing the save File everytime the last person finishes playing. This way the person who lunches the world first would be the host. We are trying to use Google drive to setup portable minecraft luncher so we uss exactly the same files but its not as easy.

At that point I'd just pay for a server but if this isn't an option then leaving your computer on but asleep with the game open so the server stays open. You can do this with aternos as well. Just leaving a character afk in the server. I don't know of another way that would fix your problem easily sorry

@@nottkorupt8579 w managed to make it work but the problem is that if the host is being changed then the items of the host are not properly saved and are duplicated between characters.
Basicly if you would like to make it work at all times properly you would need to have one person being a host at all times.
We ended up paying for a proper server.
this is the exact issue we are trying to deal with. since we both have high upload speed we are using yandex disk but it will only work for a while world is already 200mb and we just created it

Many mods are not compatible with essential and is not a valid option.

I have a world with mods with which I play with my friend having Essential, but every time one dies everything gets bugged, as if there were a bad connection, we can't see each other or break blocks but we are in the same world because you can still see that We are like invisible, I don't know if it is some mod that is doing that and causing that problem because we both have good internet

Is there a way for realms to work with the Essential mod? We have a subscription, but it says there is an invalid subscription for our modded world
This doesn't work with the Aether mod. Curseforge essential version is not compatible with 1.19.4 but Aether is only compatible with that version

I'm so lost on all of these programs you just listed at the very beginning of the video. You said if I was new or a veteran you would help, but I have no idea what any of those programs do. Nor have I ever heard of them before so I just have the normal launcher. Maybe explain more on that stuff before you dive into the rest didn't make it past 2 minutes because of this...
Thanks for the feedback! Let me explain, the default Minecraft launcher is difficult to mod so I recommend using the ATLauncher, link in description, next you make an instance depending on what you want to play such as a modpack. But if you want to play vanilla here are the steps. Sign into your Microsoft account in the accounts tab. Next go to vanilla packs and create an instance with fabric. Now go to the instance tab and click add mods to your instance. At the top left change the drop-down box from curse forge to modrinth and then search for the essential mod and click add. Then have your friend do the same thing.
In game you will have a social menu where you will add your friend. Have them do the same. Then once in your world on the pause menu click invite and you are finished!

you said @ 1:02 to use a Simply Optimised instance and to load your mods onto there, but this doesn't allow modpacks, right?
and, equally, you can't use the instance of the modpack you want to play, and load SO onto there, as it, too, is a modpack. what do you do in this scenario if you want both? for me specifically, i want to play the Valhelsia (6 or other) modpack with SO also installed.
@@benjamisaac that modpack is forge and simply optimized is fabric. So it wouldn't work anyway. And I'm pretty sure that valhelsia already has performance mods built in
@@BillyDaBongoTutorials right, i'm new to modding mc so am unsure about all the nuances. what i find odd is that valhelsia states that the modpack requires optifine, but could they not just include optifine as part of the modpack?
anyway, that's a tangent. my main question is: since optifine also seems to not be possible to add onto the valhelsia pack via the ATLauncher, is it possible to download optifine separately and manually add the files to the instance?
@@benjamisaac you really shouldn't use optifine on the later versions of the game. Use embeddium and other performance mods for forge
@@BillyDaBongoTutorials really? i only ask because that's what the mod description states. on the in-game menu, many of the resource packs are highlighted red and state "OptiFine required", which presumably is a valhelsia-specific thing

The link in the description is a bit suspicious because of "en" which is not in the URL of the official site. This might be a virus. Guys, don't click the link in the desc. Just look for the official site.
Essential is so laggy tho and it crashes every 10 minutes

How does this work exactly for my friends? They have Essential downloaded as well as Kinda Crazy Craft 2.0, but no launcher like ATLauncher (only I followed the steps in this video). When I try inviting them, they get an error message along the lines of "Incompatible launcher version" or something where the launcher and server has different versions or something. How do I fix this?
I would assume that you and your friends don't have the exact same mods

essentials mod doesn't support some versions and you can fix that by making your own server and port forwarding, very easy just search it up.

This isn't working for me, and i have done everything you have told me to do in the video. When ever I click play in instances it just says incompatible mod set and to install fabric, which i already did. I have bean trying this for hours and this still doesn't work
Well as sadly while experimenting, a lot of modpacks aren't compatible with Essential. But there is still a decent amount of mods out there that works with the Essential Mod plugin.

It works but for some reason my friend isn't able to build or destroy anything. They can collect items and craft but nothing else. I've tried to look for answers but I see no settings for building perms, do you know a solution for this?
If this is with aternos then there is a spawn protection you have to remove or just move outside the protection area
That happened to me too today. I accidentwlly started the world in adventure mode instead of survival.
to fix it, you have to press escape and go to the world settings just look around the ui and youll find it then you have to change the gamemode to adventure and your friend has to rejoin. its a weird thing
