  • Well this is just a relaxing ambiance video to put on in the background. Courtney likes these videos and this is her favourite time or year so I thought I would make this for her. I was only able to get 30 min so I looped it to make it a full hour, it may not be everyone’s cup of tea but if you like this sort of thing then enjoy :)

Soon you will upgrade to something more efficient and then you will just keep improving the technique. I have been making syrup for 45 years and that would be my story.

Well if you like to burn way more wood and get a small product, then it would be the best way. So how long have you been making maple syrup? I prefer to have a clean process, using stainless steel, no bugs, no rust, not smoke and a clean product that even the city slicker would like. All food grade surfaces. I started out like this and it was fun, until the rain and snow visited while cooking. Not the best way, but it happened.

Our family has been making syrup like this for generations and generations at this same sugar bush. We'd never want it any other way. 😊 It's not wasting wood, it's enjoying a fire outside, visiting, and making memories! I hope generations beyond me are still doing it this way.

lol ya there is deff more efficient ways to do it but we don’t do it for efficiency, we do it to spend time with the family outdoors around the fire wile the kids get to play in the woods and it produces more then enough for our whole family to enjoy all year. We do have a roof built over it so we can still boil in the rain and snow 😊 but I know what your talking about if your planning on selling it or trying to get as much as you can 😊

Victoria, are those food grade garbage cans and plastic. I thought it was funny that your family has been doing this process for generations and generation and never looked for being more efficient.
