Having read up about the notorious "Mina", one of the first released orang-utan into the Gunung Leuser National Park who has a reputation for attacking guides and tourists, it was a relief to learn that this female who approached us was not her.
We certainly weren't expecting to see an orang-utan so soon, having only just entered the park, let alone have an up close and personal experience with one. It just happened to be my birthday too.
