    Hey Cap. Nice job with all your installs!
    I did notice the antenna cable for your VHF was coiled up behind the panel. That will reduce the performance of your radio. Also i would not use the factory antenna connector. Its best to cut the cable to length and solder a good connector. Also try not to zip tie the antenna cable to any power cables. Made a big difference on my boat after i did that.
    Also corrosion X or corrosion block on all electrical connections is a must. Cheers! Bill

    Nice to know EV100 is NOW good for Hydraulic Ram Capacity: 3.1-9cu. (aka 50cc-150cc). A couple years ago when I bought it. EV100 is only good for up to Ram capacity of 50 cc to 100 cc. My Baystar Hydraulic steering is 118 cc, so I had to return the EV100 kit to West Marine. What a bummer! but kudos to Raymarine for making it bigger.

    I'm installing the exact system and have only 1 question: How far is your EV1 from the ACU?
    I've read that the electric output leads to the hydraulic pump will create quite a bit of magnetic field, [as any similar size motor would] but it looks like yours is at least 24" separation.

    Install a MOB+. Having a autopilot will inherently free you up moving about the vessel while underway. Last thing you want to do is watch your boat drive off if you happen to fall over. I’ve been fishing offshore since I was a child. It happens quicker than you think. I’ve installed on all my boats. Be safe. Looks good. Maybe we’ll see you up around Destin Fl one day 👍🏻

    A small but important tip for anyone who may have to work on anything in the future; ALWAYS cut the ends off of zip/cable ties with a pair of flush cutters not regular wire cutters.. Regular cutters turn the end of the cable tie into a extremely sharp point that will rip your or possibly my arms up when you need to get back into the area and do work. The flush cutters make a nice flush cut with no sharp edges. Plenty of cheap options for flush cutters on Amazon as well as better brands for a bit more money...👍👍😉

    Great job !! I have the exact boat and want to put the same auto pilot in. One question ., the 3 fittings that you had to purchase for the drive pump. what size and where can I get them. also how many liters of hydro fluid did you use

    • @OutOnTheReef
      @OutOnTheReef  4 года назад +1

      What I did was that I took the pump in the fittings that came with to a hydraulic hose supply store and they have experience there with pipe fittings and they can provide you the pipe fittings right there I don't remember the size of it but they really can help you and give you some great advice remember that not to over tighten the pipe fitting because you will break the pump you can only make few turns with it and I did not need a lot of the hydraulic fluid because I did not let it leak all over the place so it's very careful with it so I only need it like half a quart.
      Hope this helps you on your new installation if I can help in any of the wait let me know.👍👍⚓
