growing up ive never seen an lgbtq person on TV and when i figured i was gay i either tried to brush it off or pretend it doesnt exist, then like in 2010 my cousin came out to me. i started crying a little because i no longer felt like i was the only one, i said to him something among the lines "i think i am too". and now look at how far we;ve come, i get to see myself represented on tv, in the music industry, in books, games and movies. i am living for this
We have an exchange student from Brazil in our class in school. A boy in our class is bisexual, I'm a bisexual girl and a friend of mine is a lesbian. So me and my friends are very open and positive about our sexuallity. The guy from Brasilia said that he thinks that its cool that we treat it like a normal thing to be. But there is still homophobia in our class sometimes. So my lesbian friend and my best friend thought it would be a good idea to make a presentation about LGBTQ+ in our class. I'm really really happy that we get more and more representation on TV. Thank you Dom that you are a part of this representation. My cousin watched Wynonna Earp when it first started and she loved it. I didn't have cable so could only watch clips on RUclips. I had to move back in with my mom after my step-dad past away and she of course has cable. I finally got to see the last half of the 3rd season. Then, my sister gave me her password on Netflix and I have watched all of the seasons except the first half of season 3. I thought Miss Haught was it but then, watching you in Wynonna Earp was kind of like when you slowly fall for someone. Every time I would watch this show I found myself focused on you. I love you in Wynonna Earp. Then, I saw you on here on your own channel and love what I saw. I saw you with the Anonymous mask on. I know there are a lot of people waking up all over the world but I myself find that there are still not enough people waking up. If I'm honest I think Anonymous is a lot like being gay because you only have so many people who you can talk to about how you feel or the things that matter to you. I know that you are vegan and that is beautiful. I can't say I am but I have thought a lot about trying. I love the show Wynonna Earp and Waverly the character you play. But I think I like the real lady that stands up for 40 year old ladies like me and all women who are LGBTQ people. I have watched all your videos and whether it's standing up for the LGBTQ community, buying cheaper clothes, eating vegan, being kind or just being the beautiful lady you are I think you're amazing, wonderful and gorgeous as hell. Keep doing exactly what you're doing cuz your doing great.
Damn! To watch Dominique talking about acceptance, made me think about that time 2 years ago when I came out to my homophobic mother saying her I had been living with my girlfriend for a year by that time, that I hoped she understood and if not that it was ok because I couldn't bear the lump in my throat anymore, it was the most ovary-ousy thing I had done in all my life, couldn't stop crying and I really felt the danger of my situation. Thinking of how far I've come since then, having completely changed my life, I can truly say that nothing compares to being your authentic self, living the life you want to live, doing the things you want to do with whomever you want to, feeling free to decide the course of your life. To the people that are unsure about taking this important step in their lives, know that it doesn't get getter, it is the best feeling in the world! Even in countries like mine (France) we have to keep talking about it bc people fear what they don’t have knowledge for !
