Picked up a G48 this weekend. Man am I glad I did. I NEVER do comments or reviews. But after putting this thing in my hand, it is exactly what I have been waiting for. The G19 always felt like a brick in my hand, my original G43 felt good but a little too slim. This fits the bill perfectly plus the 10 round capacity plus it carries just as easy as my old G43. To those thinking about a G48, try it for sure!!
As a two year owner of the original Glock 43, and a huge fan of the Glock 43 for EDC based on its size and in my case nearly flawless range performance during dozens of outings, and less the 6 round capacity, (I have extended all 5 of the mags I have) the X is perfect for me. I purchased it Saturday morning and ran about 100 rounds through it this past Sunday in the woods. Not only am I impressed but I have just replaced my original 43, with my new X. Great pistol with perfect purpose. The extended grip, while arguable to those who will say it makes it harder to conceal, it doesn’t bother me a bit, has made an impressive EDC pistol even better, nearly perfect if it came with metal night sights. Besides the sights, The only only thing I would have improved would have been a bit more texture as I have already slipped a rubber Hogue grip on my X. Now after watching this video, I hate to admit, Im even interested in maybe getting the 48 for perhaps a little more accuracy. I will carry this for a long time to come!
Kelly C. Ballinger I’m on the fence between the two and the p365 for ccw! Can you help? Did you get the 48? Do you still carry the 43x? How do you carry?
Very good Review Justin!! I see Young Beretta was an early viewer with his “First” comment. I enjoyed watching and please pass on my “Job well done to the Young Lady who demonstrated how to clear a malfunction on a semi-auto and how to keep a straight trigger finger when not ready to shoot.” Great job teaching by her Dad too. Keep up the great content.... I continue to enjoy your work! Beretta Sr.
Someone is very proud father. Very impressed with the 11 year old's abilities with the firearm, I bought the Glock 19 gen 5 MOS and the Glock 48 last week. Found the 48 to be perfect fit. Cannot get a good index on my trigger finger crease to accurately shoot the Glock 19. Find the 48 to be great all around will be easier to conceal than the 19, provide more consistent grip when drawing from holster compared to the Glock 43 or Sig P365. Hoping to see Glock build on this platform.
Well thought out and produced as always. You have a knack for covering exactly what I want to know and see concerning a new firearm. Keep up the good work!
Always enjoy your reviews, hope you keep them coming for a long time. The 43X was never a consideration for me. I bought a 48 (all black) because it shoots better especially out past seven yards than the 43X with it's longer sight radius, the couple of extra ounces absorbs more recoil for faster/more accurate follow-up shots, the additional inch of slide length disappears IWB any and actually makes AIWB carrying easier. With the Shield Arms S15 magazine and steel mag release the Glock 48 is ultimate conceal carry fighting gun...in my opinion.
If you haven't shot the 43X how do you know the 48 shoots better? Tests I've watched showed no major difference between the two in shooting performance.
Justin, I am looking forward to shooting the 48 and possibly buying a new glock for the first time in 20 years. The biggest reason is because the extra barrel length opens up the ammo choices considerably. Short barrels really hamper most 9mm loadings. I spent a lot of time researching carry loads for my PC Shield 9mm and finally settled on the HST 124Gr +P. With a 4" barrel, I can carry pretty much whatever my heart desires and I know that the bullet will perform should I need it to.
I am pretty sure that g43 sights will work with the new guns. I think the slides are functionally the same as the 43. Glocks version of modularity. 43x looks flippy. Seems like the 48 is getting back on target quicker.
It’s always a pleasure for me to work with my kids and pass our skills along to them! Your little lady ran that gun and cleared that malfunction better than most pros do! I sure wouldn’t want her shooting at ME! Well done! :)
I just bought a G43x (Night Sight Version) - Shoots Great.....300 Rounds of Blazer Brass with no malfunctions and good tight group. Grip feels good and the light weight makes it nice for a CCW pistol.
Justin Thank you very much for this review as I do enjoy your reviews immensely. I've carried a Glock 19 for quite some time and with my hands bordering on the small medium side I always found the 19 to be a bit chunky for me. But I work through it and I am proficient with it. You are correct there are those of us out there who have been dreaming up the concept that the 48 is. Although I have not laid my hands on it 48 yet but on Blind Faith I've ordered one and looking forward having it in my EDC rotation after I've changed out the sights.
FINALLY!! I’ve been waiting for someone to swap the slides with the G43!! Figured they would function with exact same dimensions on the slides. Great review brother 👍
Great review! I own a 43 and a 19 and carry the 43 every day because it's the perfect size IWB- the 19 is just too wide and heavy for IWB (for me). But that 48 has me hooked, and it just went on the top of my list. Curse you, Glock.
Absolutely. I got the 48 and to me is the best. Especially now Glock has the 15 round magazines for both the 43 & 48. My 48 is now a 19 but better. I can concealed and carry with the 48 which you can’t with the 19 or the 17
@Justin Opinion, thank you for an insightful review. I like the look of both these guns too. My pocket carry is the Glock 42 - which I love - and my IWB and OWB carry is a Glock 19. However, since it IS a hassle to have two different calibers, I'm looking at the 48 so I can handle the recoil better (senior lady with senior hands and wrists).
And so at 21:13 it was decided. He shall have the G48. Great shooting, and very informative. Thanks for making the video. I just picked up an all black G48 yesterday, and I like it a lot. Thanks.
Justin, you were asking who will he interested in the G48 as opposed to G43X. I own many Glocks and will buy a G48 when it becomes available for both IPSC Production Division and Stock Services Pistol Division in IDPA competition. Both categories max out at 10-round limits, so this is a better ergonomic Glock for that purpose.
Both models are available from the manufacturer with either Glock night sights, or for a bit more Amerigo night sights. Purchased my 43X with Amerigo night sights for 539.99, less a Valentines Day 10% discount - a tad over 500.00 out the door. Nice vid...
Great review. I gotta say, I will probably get one of them because I am a bit of a Glock collector, but I really don’t know which one is for me. Surprisingly, I believe you are the first of the early reviewers I have seen that has stated the recoil is less with the 48. Everyone else seems to “feel” the reduced reciprocating mass of the 43X feels lighter recoiling and quicker on target than the 48. I’m still leaning towards the four-eight though (like you seem to be) It’s just more different than my already owned 43 with better sight radius and oh so slightly better velocities. Either way, I’m getting a 48 AIWB holster because that added length actually helps with appendix carry stability if you are on the taller side. Hell, those 48 holster options are what made me the most pumped of all about these new Glocks... I’ll be using my regular old 43 in that holster too.
How tall is the grip on the 43X compared to the S&W M&P Shield with a 7 round mag? Also the 48 would be great for ban states with 10 round mag limits. Great video looking forward to more.
Just traded my Glock 19X for the Glock 48. I love my 19X but it was difficult to carry concealed being a heavyset guy. This new Glock 48 feels much more comfortable and easier to conceal. The other reason I traded in my 19 x was because I live in New York state which only allows us to carry 10 Rounds. If I was still living home in Philly I would have kept my 19X and purchased the G48
Great video. I own the Hellcat ( not the pro) and the 365XL the Hellcat is a bit more snappier than the 365XL but still able to shoot 100 rounds. Do you think the Glock 43x is more like the 365XL or the Hellcat when it comes to recoil?
That was some of your best accuracy ever. At one point, you put 5-6 rounds through the same hole with the G48. I'm liking where Glock is at now. No more brass to the face. Listening to their base by bringing out single-stacks. Two-tones to denote "slim line series." I think Glock has learned from their tough Gen 4 introduction. The G43X will be a big seller. BTW, as good as your videos are, you should have 3 million subscribers. C'mon people. Subscribe!
I noticed too, I think after that magazine through the G48 that I was just eating a hole in the target. Some guns just point and shoot very well, and these are both in that category.
The 48 fails to impress The 43X is cool fits in all 43 holsters. Love how you can get a good grip on the 43X and ten rounds are plenty. 10 rounds should be popular in California.
Great video! Subscribed! I really like my new Glock 48. It is a nice and completely reliable shooter. The silver finish is growing on me. I also like my Glock 43. I'm not sure what to think of the 43x. I am one of those who always thought a slim Glock 19 would be great.
Great review as always sir. I ended up taking my Talon grip off my 43X after a few shooting sessions. For some reason the Talon grip didn’t seem to feel as good as it does on my other handguns, which I’m still wondering about.
The grip changes the way these guns shoot and is much more enjoyable. Everyone that wants to make a judgement on the gun without holding/shooting it it selling themselves short.
Thank you for the great video.. The young lady looked confident and safe... I have a 48 and love it.. I'm going to bench my 19.. The 48 is a much better carry gun... Bless you..🤠👍
I got my Glock 43x on the day they released them. Of course I have replaced the sights with Trijicon night sights. The feel is great and it is my new CCW pistol.
Really enjoying your channel. I would put you right up there with my other favorites, including Hickock45, Paul Harrell, etc. I get the information I need from you and it's presented in a professional, laid-back, entertaining way. I am ordering a G48 this morning, and will post my experience asap. Hopefully, it will replace my summer carry Shield, and perhaps even my winter carry G19! Thanks!
I like your idea, if you already have a G43 - buy a G48 and you'll have a G43x as well (with a quick slide swap - and a G43 long slide to boot). Also, I imagine that aftermarket G43 sights would work just fine on the 43x and 48.
Just an observation. So, the 43 has a smaller/narrower dia. grip than the 43X. So, if you install a Taran Tactical Base Pad for a Glock 43 9mm + 3 you would have a tiny bit smaller grip and now the same over all grip length because of the Taran + 3 added, with a 9 round ammo capacity, 1 round short of the 43X 10 round capacity and NOT have to spend another $500 or more on another gun?
Great review! Enjoyed the fact you showed that the 48 slide fit the 43 frame. Wondering if you have any info. on the new Rex Delta? I enjoy your reviews and look forward to many more. Stay Safe!
Question: Is the serrated trigger of the 43x switchable to a smooth trigger? The serrated trigger is horrible. I think everyone thinks the same that the Smooth one is lot better. Maybe the smooth Glock 26 Gen5 trigger fits in the 43x?
I got the 48 and to me is the best. Especially now Glock has the 15 round magazines for both the 43 & 48. My 48 is now a 19 but better. I can concealed and carry which you can’t with the 19 or the 17
There IS no "holy grail" in a gun but Glock is as close as it gets. It sure as hell wasn't the Sig p three-sixty-five. I didn't wet my pants over the capacity but I might have, had it been RELIABLE.
Not to instill any arguments about which platform is better, but the Glock 48 seems like it's trying to appeal to 1911 pattern users. Obviously the 48s a 9mm, but a Glock 19ish sized single stack sounds a lot like something that would make someone, who prefers the thinner pattern of the 1911, be more inclined to try one out.
Thanks for this video. It is the most in depth review I have seen so far. I was wondering if you noticed any difference in felt recoil between the G43 and G43X? I know you mentioned the difference with the G48 but missed it if you mentioned the G43X. Thanks
Like I say all the time another superb video and it is also very nice to see that 11 year old girl with skills like that dad did do a great job! Be well stay safe!
I'll stay with my much more concealable and lighter G43 original. Nice review though. I'm looking for a pocket carry and hope Glock does one but with a safety. My friend's Navy father shot his leg through the pocket and he used to brag how safety trained he was.
I'd rather the 43 for better concealed carry and have extended mags with the bottom shroud. You test the all steel aftermarket mag that turns the 48 into a double stack.
I ordered a black slide in that some have said the silver (nitride) finish may be gritty and flake off eventually? I mean other than that both look like winners to me. thanx, good promo.
late to the party. I just got a like new old 48 for a great price. Serial number a hundred off a T&E gun from another tuber that posted when these were released. I have a 43 and 43x mos. The 48 shoots as good or better than any other glock I have. I also have a P365. Being in a round limited state the 48 is something I should have got long ago. I can not believe how well I shoot this.
Idk why I’m just findin out about this channel, love this guy and he does videos on guns I have or want to buy so roger that l, thanks for the content, love your taste on guns
Arguably the 43x wins the draw. Better grip and width. Accuracy is there, concealability AND comfortability, CQC all the way....forgot to mention 2 10 rnd. mags. + 1 in tube to go.
As far as I know the 48 exists because of gun laws in Canaduh. They require a certain barrel length for pistols or something. The 48 is literally a gun designed for Canadians. Well, that's what I understand, anyway.
JO Grip Index and trigger reach numbers, please. These stats have been fading away but are vitally important to many of us. Long slide, short grip = Springfield XDs 4
I will do that! I drifted away from the numbers after some criticism that actually made sense - but I will do some thorough comparisons to other guns so that there is some perspective.
Ten rounds. Sounds like the perfect California gun. Oh ya, it’s not on the “ approved list “. To bad, I would love to have one. Keep up the great vids.

Thanks much, sir. She is a great little shooter. I've shot several IDPA matches with her in my squad and her shot placement is often better than mine.

That young lady's gun handling skills makes my heart happy!
@Justin Opinion - between the G48 and G26 gen 5, which would you pick?… Many thanks and cheers!

They are, sights triggers and slides are all compatable and modular
The young lady is a boss. Better firearms handling skills than most adults I’ve seen at the range.
LOVE to see adults sharing their sport with the younger generation. THEY are how we will keep our 2A rights.
It’s always a pleasure for me to work with my kids and pass our skills along to them! Your little lady ran that gun and cleared that malfunction better than most pros do! I sure wouldn’t want her shooting at ME! Well done! :)
The perfect version would be with same frame but a slide/barrel that is somewhere in the middle @ 3.7”.
I just bought a G43x (Night Sight Version) - Shoots Great.....300 Rounds
of Blazer Brass with no malfunctions and good tight group. Grip feels good and the light weight makes it nice for a CCW pistol.
Justin Thank you very much for this review as I do enjoy your reviews immensely. GUNNY Jones. 0326 hi did you get the 48? How do you like it and how does it conceal?
I’m lusting after that G43Xray. G43Xray looks like great competition to the Sig P365 and SW Shield.. I’m getting that G43Xray.
FINALLY!! I’ve been waiting for someone to swap the slides with the G43!! Figured they would function with exact same dimensions on the slides. Great review brother 👍
Nicely done as usual. Glock night sights and Ameriglo Bold night sights are available as well.
Great review! I own a 43 and a 19 and carry the 43 every day because it's the perfect size IWB- the 19 is just too wide and heavy for IWB (for me). But that 48 has me hooked, and it just went on the top of my list. Curse you, Glock.

How tall is the grip on the 43X compared to the S&W M&P Shield with a 7 round mag? Also the 48 would be great for ban states with 10 round mag limits. Great video looking forward to more.
Sturmgewehr556 it’s basically the exact same size grip as the Shield with the the 8 round magazine.
I'm really impressed with the young lady. Beautiful technique!
Great report! Thank you and take care!
Great review and I liked how you let a few other people take a go at them. I will be getting the 43x later this year, and that young girl is a boss!
Great video.
I own the Hellcat ( not the pro) and the 365XL the Hellcat is a bit more snappier than the 365XL but still able to shoot 100 rounds.
Do you think the Glock 43x is more like the 365XL or the Hellcat when it comes to recoil?
I pick up my glock 48 in the morning can't wait to check it out at the range.
Excellent information and professional the eleven year handled the Glock. So far in Houston Glock’s are soled out.
The 48 fails to impress
The 43X is cool fits in all 43 holsters.
Love how you can get a good grip on the 43X and ten rounds are plenty.
10 rounds should be popular in California.
Thanks for the review, it answers some questions.
Great video! Subscribed! I really like my new Glock 48. It is a nice and completely reliable shooter. The silver finish is growing on me. I also like my Glock 43. I'm not sure what to think of the 43x. I am one of those who always thought a slim Glock 19 would be great.
That 43x is clean
Using the front of the trigger guard with index finger will help you control the gun much better with muzzle flip & the inherent accuracy of the gun😉👍
You don't need to buy a new holster for the 48. Just HEAT the tip of the holster you have (kydex) and slide the 48 in. It will conform.
It’s always awesome see the youngsters out there awesome job man I’m a dad myself so I know your proud
Great first hundred brother!
Thanks, my friend. Looking forward to your take on things...
Thanks!
Thanks, that is nice of you to say. Enjoy that G48!
I like your idea, if you already have a G43 - buy a G48 and you'll have a G43x as well (with a quick slide swap - and a G43 long slide to boot). Also, I imagine that aftermarket G43 sights would work just fine on the 43x and 48.
Thanks for the video. Hope the new job is going well. I like your content thanks as always 👍🏻👍🏻🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Nice review! These guns will sell like hot cakes but they’re not replacing my G19. As a gun owner more options are always better in my opinion.
Does the longer barrel give the bullet more energy?
.
As always a good introductory video, just enough of a tease.
Gun was totally designed with the Canadian market in mind why else would they put a 4.17'' barrel on it when Canada requires 4.15'' or longer?
😎🤘🏻🇨🇦
Yea they wanted all three people in Canada that own handguns to buy one.
Oh yes I did.
Ron W 🤣😂🤣😂👊🏾👊🏾
I could see the 48 being relevant in ban states, but I’ll keep to my 26 for sub compact ten rounders. Good review as always 👍
Between these two, which would be better for an all-purpose/SHTF carry gun for a smaller woman?
Stay Safe!
It is the same frame! G48 is basically a 43xL...
Xds mod 2 or glock 43 x ? Let me know Justin opinion
With my medium ish hands I never really liked my 19 so yesterday I sold it and got the 48. So far I’m rather happy with my decision.
that young lady rocks.
Love seeing that young lady run that thing like a boss. That is awesome to see.
Another great video, thanks.
Question:
Is the serrated trigger of the 43x switchable to a smooth trigger?
The serrated trigger is horrible.
I think everyone thinks the same that the Smooth one is lot better.
Maybe the smooth Glock 26 Gen5 trigger fits in the 43x?
I got the 48 and to me is the best. Especially now Glock has the 15 round magazines for both the 43 & 48.
My 48 is now a 19 but better. I can concealed and carry which you can’t with the 19 or the 17
Glock ? You mean Shield Arms ?🤷♂️
Great work as usual!
Great review any idea how a 43 with a +2 & or +3 mag extension compares to the 43X grip length?
Would love that 48 in 10mm!
Thats what I was thinking

2 more handguns that I’m unable to purchase in the lovely state of CA. YAY for me...

My G43X fits in my XDS9 holster perfectly.
Glock 48...the 9mm 1911 of the Glock world. 😎🤘🏻
Thanks for this video. It is the most in depth review I have seen so far. I was wondering if you noticed any difference in felt recoil between the G43 and G43X? I know you mentioned the difference with the G48 but missed it if you mentioned the G43X. Thanks
I haven't yet shot the 43 and 43X together, but plan to. I will be paying close attention to that and try to describe it.
Thanks.
Great review!
Will the 43X accept Glock 43 after market sights?
I'd rather the 43 for better concealed carry and have extended mags with the bottom shroud.
You test the all steel aftermarket mag that turns the 48 into a double stack.
@25:00 That was cool! @26:40 That was even cooler!
Good show. Thank you.
would like to see a comparison video of these two pistols to the xds 4.0 and the single stack 4" kahr series as well
The xds 4 inch is awesome, especially for appendix carry. That is also where the grip safety shines.
I ordered a black slide in that some have said the silver (nitride) finish may be gritty and flake off eventually? I mean other than that both look like winners to me. thanx, good promo.
Nice
late to the party.
Is the 48 slide can swap to 43? Pls advise
Idk why I’m just findin out about this channel, love this guy and he does videos on guns I have or want to buy so roger that l, thanks for the content, love your taste on guns
Thanks. I appreciate the nice words.
Seems like the sights for the g43 would fit the g43x ?
Wholesome gun channel :)
I just bought a G48.... Can't wait to shoot it.
Is the barrel rifling upgraded as in Gen5 guns. Nice guns if you don't have G26 or G43
The G48 has the new Marksman barrel - the G43X has the same barrel as the G43.
@@JustinOpinionChannel I have a 48 and 43x.. sold my 43 but the barrel on my 43x is crowned and looks like the same as the other "marksman" barrels
Thanks for the video....curious to try them out, but wont be running out to buy either....
Restricted states like mine (NJ) will go bananas for both models.
Until they drop them to 5 round limits....It's coming.
Arguably the 43x wins the draw. Better grip and width. Accuracy is there, concealability AND comfortability, CQC all the way....forgot to mention 2 10 rnd. mags. + 1 in tube to go.
I find myself drawn to the 48. Hopefully I'll eventually find one to rent before I buy.
Not for me, the first time I picked up a 43x and gripped it, I knew was #1 as a carry gun.
Glockteen eleven and Glockteen eleven commander.
Ten rounds. Sounds like the perfect California gun. Oh ya, it’s not on the “ approved list “. To bad, I would love to have one. Keep up the great vids.
