This story line would've had so much potential as a mini arc but they decided to conclude it in 20 minutes. Tsubaki, Sazanka and the Land of Iron as a whole are so interesting.

I'm glad the samurai in boruto series have some attention. it's nice to see mifune again with his kenjutsu skills before retirement and I can't imagine if tsubaki wield the kurosawa blade she can literally cut through things

I won't lie, the pacing of the flashbacks disappointed me because of how fast everything came. This could've easily a been 2 or 3 episode arc, but I will say, my respect for Tsubaki has grown tremendously because of this episode.

@@Reppin920 It is a filler. When this girl does something that actually matters to the plot, then you can maybe try to argue that she isn’t a filler character. But when the only times she shows up are in self-contained little plot-lines like this one, then she’s basically a filler character. And the thing with filler is that even if by some miracle she was canon, she’s so unimportant anyway that being “basically filler” is just as bad as being actual filler.

There is no "basically filler", it's either filler or it's not, and this wasn't filler, simple as that.
She is canon. The Boruto Anime gives character development and fleshes the side characters.
I gained a lot more respect for Tsubaki and Wasabi in this episode

The Naruto world has never been kind to samurai, which is understandable. Being a ninja series. Still, every other series tells me to appreciate these warriors and their Samurai Heart.

It is great that Boruto is more diving into the samurai through tsubaki. I loved to see that there are some “evil” ones among them and that they have their fair share of problems too like the other villages
I mean Mifune did defeat Hanzo, the samurai have that going for them at least 😅
A samurai that has fallen from grace vs an ever-growing samurai who’s only continuing to ascend towards an even greater destiny than she’s ever imagined. It’s pretty clear who was the real winner in this battle. Still, it wouldn’t be a bad idea for her to learn some Shinobi moves every now and then, but, I guess I’m just drawing straws right about now.

Loved Tsubaki so much when they introduced her and although it’s taken a while to get there, I really like the arc this squads been on since having Sumire depart.
I do wish instead of a single episode though, it was stretched to two at least.

To everyone wishing this episode was longer: I think it's safe to assume there will be a 2-3 episodes (or maybe even longer) arc about the Land of Iron in the future. She was a candidate for a leadership position in the Land of Iron and she said that it's a place rich in position, but it's also constrained because of them. They wouldn't say all of that and then never return to that topic. Having this development for Tsubaki only be one episode was probably them testing the waters, laying the groundworks for Tsubaki and Team 15's future developments. Imagine if the team not only gets an arc about them, but an ED as well. And what if Sumire joins them on a mission once she makes progress on Nue.
Namida is literally a walking cannon now
This was pretty good episode. Tsubaki is pretty cool.
On a related side note, while not seen here I also like the fact that Namida seems to have improved with her special technique.
This opening is dope as hell! Especially how it translated the similar blue & red symptoms as seen in Naruto Shippūden:

Plus like Sakura is to Sasuke, Sarada’s depressing look I believed shows how much she loves Boruto despite his Karma seal condition. 🥗

It’s nice seeing some bankai getsuga tenshou action now and again, but that fight scene was just so way completely damn short still, they at least needed to expand one more episode on this fight, but so be it still.

Yeah I agree just watch she will be the strongest samurai in the entire leaf village because for some reason she will be beat every other samurai who has years of experience
They have made a note that Tsubaki's a lot stronger than what she's shown to be, but because we haven't seen much of her, there's a bit of a disconnect.
However, throughout this entire episode, Tsubaki has a mental nerf, and because of that, she can't go all out. As Naruto Explained said, Chakra is physical and spiritual. If you have a mental nerf, the way you fight will also get affected

But this felt kinda nonsensical and like they just wanted force it ended with the cliché delayed slash. Would've been better if she instead used his rage attack to at least deal a minor injury to him before then cutting him down like this. This is the kind of thing why people say Boruto sucks at powerscaling their characters properly. It's either asspulls or just inconsistent scaling...

that's why there's a disconnect, because it was crammed into 1 episode. If they showed more of Sazanka's abilities, and more of Tsubaki's capabilities as a Shinobi in past episodes, we would have been able to gauge who was stronger

yeah, since the fight is outsourced, we didn't really see a solid fight between them, just clashes, and we had Ichiro Uno make the art corrections, which made the whole episode look a lot better than it did.

I do feel that Tsubaki's a lot stronger/ They did a good job showcasing her mental nerf, which affects how you use chakra a lot. But they could have done better to show Tsubaki's skill, and Sazanka's skill, so we can know that Tsubaki's stronger than she is, but is struggling with her past.
If we saw more fights with Sazanka, there will definitely be a less disconnect frfr

Daily reminder that *FUSED* Momoshiki replenished his health and chakra with the scientific ninja tool from Katasuke and ate 3 more chakra pills which replenished him even further and still lost 1v1 to *KID* Boruto.
1/9/22
1. Fused Momoshiki used Shikamaru's shadow paralysis jutsu on them to where they couldn't move and Boruto had to throw his vanishing rasengan in order to free them and save them.
2. After the fight vs Naruto and Sasuke, Fused Momoshiki replenished his health and chakra with the scientific ninja tool from Katasuke and ate 3 more chakra pills which replenished him even further and still lost 1v1 to KID Boruto while Naruto and Sasuke were pinned down by chakra rods.
3. Base Boruto using a shadow clone was capable of blitzing Fused Momoshiki and punching him in the stomach, activated his jougan and countered Momoshiki's taijutsu which created an opening for another vanishing rasengan hit to his ribcage all before the real Boruto came out of the sky with his giant vanishing rasengan(that was mixed with both Boruto and Naruto's chakra) to defeat Fused Momoshiki. But the *FACT* remain that KID Boruto did indeed fight *FUSED* Momoshiki 1v1 and held his own and won proving he's already Otsutsuki tier, it's not debatable.

I see very few people crying about it. Just those that thought this ended too quickly. Which is fair, but imo it did what it needed to do since these episodes now are just showing what all the characters are up to after the chunin exams.

After learning from her friends that stood up for her, Tsubaki struck down Sazanka in the samurai stance and one hit. 2:18. 🧐.
Honestly, this deserved its own arc, but they decided to make it 1 episode. Also the new ost sounds great.

If there's one thing I learned while watching naruto, it's that That I should never get excited Because no matter how cool it is, no matter how much potential it has, it's not going to be more than an element to be spent on the story That's why I have no hope of kenjutsu.

I wish they would've a mini arc of 4-5 episodes about the land of iron, giving samurai lore, the relationship between the land of iron and Konoha, Tsubaki growth in the land of iron, bringing Mifune to the story
They summarized it to 1 episode instead...a miss opportunity

Tsubaki beating a character that was called the 2nd coming of Mifune
Relationship between Wasabi and Tsubaki
Overcoming mental struggles
A different fighting style then the toned down Taijutsu centric fights
Shortcomings (in my opinion)
Too short and could've gave us more lore
Not enough land of iron exposition
Nothing about the relationship between the land of iron and Konoha
Setting up a goal for Tsubaki
Emphasis about team 15 having their 1st mission without Hanabi
Mifune being in the story
Sazanka becoming an hired hitman

Boruto is like a pack of instant ramen (not as thick and savory as the origin of its base)
