The Dear Hunter is one of my Absolute favorite bands. The songs "Waves" and "A Night On The Town" move me nearly to tears everytime. My favorite album is probably Act IV, but Act V is a super close second. Other songs I really Enjoy; "Gloria", "A Curse of Cynicism" - feat. Andy Hull of Manchester Orchestra (Another of My Favorite Bands), "The Haves Have Naught" and "Shame" which has a very James Bond like vibe to me. My suggestion is The Night Game.
Was going to comment somewhere recommending these guys, great to see you've listened already. TDH changed how I listened to/write music, I only wish I'd heard them sooner.
I've been a fan for about 5 years now, and I remember not that long ago listening to all of the songs through the acts in order, and Light, Blood, and A Beginning left me sobbing, along with The Inquiry of Ms. Terri, This Beautiful Life, and Waves bringing me to tears. If you follow the storyline, theyre for sure a good band to listen to
No Act II?! Maybe I just have too much nostalgia but it’s one of my favorite albums of all time. Saw them for the first time at a Scary Kids Scaring Kids (gf wanted to go) show and was immediately a fan.
My favorite album is either antimai or V, but I would recommend someone new either start with Act IV or II, they are both amazing but each have their own unique feels. Act IV feels very orchestral while Act II sounds like, uhh, idk how to describe it, but it’s very distinct (in a good way)
lol I once asked Casey on a sort of live stream what he thought about Muse or if he liked them, he said something like he hasn’t really listened to much of them and he maybe like Uprising
I'm a huge fan of TDH and I used to be a Muse fan. Don't get me wrong, I'm really happy you enjoy the music, but where did they ever sound like Muse? Bit of an odd claim imho
@@Ibefartin lol fair enough! Sarcasm tends to get lost in translation when there’s no italics or other ways to signal it 😅 that album was indeed a tough act to follow

That slow part in the middle of Night on the Town and "not knowing how far I'd fall" gets me everytjme
@@krunchyapples for real. Such an impactful and beautiful part.

Omg I've been scrolling through and you cannot believe how happy I am that you've covered The Dear Hunter!♡♡♡

Cursive has an amazing discography and they have a new album coming out next month.

No no you're right, act II definitely deserves to be here. Especially the new live version

You should check out Casey’s other side project honorary astronaut
That's funny that Migrant is your #1 because when it was released, the fanbase didn't like it 😂 I love it, of course
The Dear Hunter didn't have a fucking muse phase.
Start with Act 1, or the Color Spectrum, or Antimai.
Where the fuck is act 4
Damn migrant is my least favorite of their discography
Ugh comparing them to muse is an insult
Asking as an enjoyer of both bands: how is that an insult?
@@enntheelementale7461 sorry that was meant to be a joke. I haven’t really cared for a muse album since black holes.

I'm not a fan of shitting others, to make someone else feel better. In general.
