With discovery it's great when you are hospitalized my mother stayed in hospital for 2n and half months they paid for everything including physio.

Shop around till you find the best, Discovery medical is up there.

In Pretoria we have Steve Biko academic hospital and Tshwane districs hospital which come highly recommended but i wouldn't advice an expat to depend on public hospitals because they get very busy as people from neighboring countries also use them.

I like the incentives they give, to encourage living a healthy lifestyle. But don’t like that they don’t cover pre-existing conditions for a year.

but some public hospitals are well managed and they are in the same level with those expensive private hospitals. the part she forgot to answer is public hospitals are free and also the medication is free

@@siyabonganxumalo4574 it depends on the municipality, you right about the long queues but we all know the public hospitals are under-staffed ,so we must try to cut them some slack..

@@DrAntoinetteLloydMD they're plenty ... the ones i highly recommend, sommerset hospital in cape town and the chris hani baragwannath in Soweto .

​@@neosiwela2046Lots of Good public hospitals around the country. Public Hospitals also cater for 80% of the population. Public healthcare in SA is also free.
