    Thanks for the great video. Very informative considering a lot of people sell these but never provide actual and specific information on the water parameters. I'm now tempted to get some and run them around 83 degree water. Do you notice less activity with different lower water temps? My only complaint about this fish is like any typical exotic pleco is that they just hide and sit by their spot all day.

    • @AquaMalik
      @AquaMalik  4 года назад +2

      they do tend to be less active but there are things you can do to get them to feel more comfortable! you can keep them comfortably at about 80F ! ill try to cover more of these on the upcoming videos! cheers!

      These fish come from the Rio Xingu and live in crevices 10-20m below the surface; they are shy, timid and nocturnal. They NEED water between 81-86F.

    How good are those lemon tetras compared to other dither fish for H. zebra. Is it just aesthetic, or do they function better compared to rummynose and cardinals.
    I had rummynoses for a while, but as the tetras got mature, they started overpowering the zebs during feedings.

    • @AquaMalik
      @AquaMalik  4 года назад +2

      The lemons are just what I have right now .. any small tetra works the same way more or less and yes they can become more aggressive feeders as they get older. Cheers 🍻

    • @wyliecoyote1696
      @wyliecoyote1696 4 года назад +2

      Best to keep them alone; or with Cherry shrimp or some other shrimp. They DO NOT compete well for food. Also with dithers you risk disease.
