What about Octavia Butlers “Parable of the Talents,” a charismatic leader who promises to “make America great again.” His rhetoric focuses on division and xenophobia, scapegoating marginalized groups. As a fundamentalist Christian, he uses religion to justify his policies, reflecting the rise of religious nationalism in a world suffering from climate change and economic disparity in moribund capitalism.
I guess the devil still has work for him to do🤷♂️. It's always funny to me how so much of the aura around him is Christian in origin but ever so slowly, or maybe not so much anymore he seems to be supplanting Christ in his followers minds. I mean...if you're to believe Evangelicals belief system, he's either playing the role of the anti-christ, or whatever he does is laying the foundation for that figure to appear. Their worship of this man is literally rewriting their religiosity right before our eyes. It's fascinating, and indicative of how cults play themselves and others.

Homelander is the weakest strong character in the show thats kind of the point. and regardless of how they make the character he would of been deified. The people that we are talking about will see what they want to see regardless of whats in front of them
I’m curious Maye are you someone who is agnostic that believes in the idea of Satan or hell, does your view on God have a western Christian influence ?
My view does have a Western Christian influence. I grew up here, so it's hard not to. I went down an NDE rabbit hole a few times, and they tell stories of heaven and hell, reincarnation and pre-birth memories. I don't know how that works, but I'm also not going to discount all that eyewitness testimony
