Peter, I was moved by your story and can somewhat relate to the anxiety and insecurity that you felt growing up. Your parents were misguided and that had a big impact on you. You are resilient, and that is why you have survived. Just love yourself and be kind to all because there is a God who loves us all. You will rise above your torment and enjoy life as you progress with the healing process. You are a good person.

Watching this actually made me nauseous. You've been through hell. I was baptized in it at 17. At 24 they pulled the slander game telling everyone in the congregation I could be doing more, that I was spiritually dead and bad association. I even had an elder's wife say that I should shit or get off the toilet. In other words do more or get out. Recently I've had two other ex JWs say they heard the same phrase so it must be a Jehovah's Witness thing.
I'm sorry you have been through all that.

My grandfather wasn't supposed to age in this system. My dad wasn't supposed to age in this system. I wasn't supposed to grow old in this system. Today, my son is not supposed to grow old in this system.
Soon my grandson will not expect to grow old in this system.
The credulity of Jehovah's witnesses is transmitted from generation to generation and knows no limits, it is even by this that we recognize them. Indoctrination at its splendor.
Fortunately unlike in the past, today more and more JW parents no longer want to contaminate their offspring with the toxic doctrines of the Watchtower.
Breaking the vicious circle of transmission will lead to the downfall of this fundamentalist “church”.
Let's not be afraid to say it, the Watchtower is a real fundamentalist sect so its slogan is the imminent “end”. Today after more than 140 years this recipe no longer works. Bye, Bye Watchtower.

Imagine how the members will feel when they realize they abandoned their own children because a 'religion' conned them into it. All those years they could've actually focused on family and growth, they spent at meetings and walking door to door. I can't wait for this organization to get fully exposed in the near future.

@@anotherhealingjourneybegins In 1994 Watchtower magazine proudly showed pictures of dozens of child martyrs who had refused blood transfusions. These children and teenagers were sacrificed on the altar of the Watchtower. I think of the poor parents who wake up 20 or 30 years later after letting their child die...a real nightmare and what unfathomable sadness for the parents. The Watchtower will sooner or later have to respond to its murderous religious madness, and that day is drawing ever closer. You will see it with your own eyes.

@@spencerthomas5762 if you really believed that, then you shouldn't be here watching this then. If you think elders having sexually explicit conversations with minors (which they did with me several times), if you think JW's selling their Kingdom Halls that their members paid for with their donations (which that money doesn't go back to them, it goes to the organization), if you think the governing body lying during their CSA investigation is justified, that thousands of people like me have this same experience or worse, that Jesus would tell wounded people that the people who harmed them did so because they deserved it, then by all means you do what you do. But you won't come to me telling me what I did or did not experience. This was made to help people like me heal from years, decades of abuse. I paid attention as a JW. In fact, I paid TOO much attention.

In the thumbnail it looks like a happy family portrait of 4 leaning in towards each other, centered with the hutch in the background. It looks like you were digitally added to the picture later. It's obvious by their body language that they didn't accept you. I'm sorry you were treated that way.

You know what's weird is when I found this picture, I noticed the EXACT same thing. I could even tell by my expression that I was miserable and I was all skin and bones. I very much took note of the fact that they were all leaning towards each other and I was kinda just...there. That's actually why I chose this pic to be the thumbnail. Very perceptive of you! I am not JW, and I think it's a cult. However, this testimony seems to be much more than "Why I left JW." More like, "Why I left JW, abusive family, hellish bullies, molesters, and a loveless upbringing." Although it may be all intertwined in one life experience, these are two very different things.

    • @anotherhealingjourneybegins

I appreciate your take on this. However if you read through the stories of others in the comments of other ex JWs, you see a pattern. Their environment is a breeding ground for all you mentioned. Luckily not all ex JWs had this experience. Some just felt lonely or wanted more education. But many, many ex JW childhoods sound like mine.

@@anotherhealingjourneybegins Yes, it seems you experienced the worst of that breeding ground and all that cultivated it. You are a special soul called by God to the vocation that all Christian souls ultimately need to realize (and you may its shining exemplar) - that ultimate fulfillment, divine companionship, and inner blossoming comes through a relationship with God/Christ alone, and only after that may one find kindred spirits and fellow sojourners, perhaps, along the way, all of whom will have shortcomings, as well. Yet, even then, God is all and suffices for one's life path and joy and unto His heavenly embrace into eternity, as it always must be regardless of how we may find ourselves in the world or among people. Nothing can separate us from God. We just need to bypass the distractions. Little steps for little feet. Courage! God bless!

Im sorry for what you had to go through. I guess we all have a story to tell. And because of situations like this, people tend to push away from seeking God because of past experiences.
With that said, i believe in the bible and i believe that God is real and in order to know him we have to read the bible. Sin is still sin and that’s what separates us from God. We must read and learn ourselves to learn to please God. Unfortunately our bad experiences wont be an excuse to be saved. Pray to God and ask for guidance. He is willing to heal you from your pain but most importantly give you salvation through the blood of Christ if you repent and believe.
Wishing the best for you, God bless!
Ps. God was never the problem, your parents didn’t do the right thing. Hope you were able to forgive. It hurt more not doing it.

Your life isn't over yet! Even if it's too late for you to raise your own children, you could care for children in different ways.
Also, it is never too late to have a meaningful marriage/ life partnership with someone. We welcomed a 93 year old into the family two years ago as the new partner of one of my relatives! They are both making every day count!
It's never too late to remove the holding power of your controlling parents, and reclaim your human right to ownership of your own life. Yes, it is natural to grieve and rage ovee all that has been lost, but mental and emotional freedom now is up to you. You have a right to appreciate the life you have from now on. It's yours to make of it what you will.

If I could run this comment through a shredder, I would. The problem isn't me. You just came up here telling me I'm lying. Where were you when all this was happening? You seem to know so much about me that you could tell if I'm just 'making it up'. THAT'S the problem. If you told me something that was done to you, I would believe your pain unless I was directly shown otherwise. You guys on the other hand just point a finger and call me a liar.
Meanwhile, my 2 hospitalizations are on record. My JW mother's attempted overdose is on record. The letter my parents wrote to me to let me know I'm disowned is on record. My former therapist met with my parents and kept detailed notes on everything. So no. These are not lies. Jesus would never turn his back on someone the way JW's are taught to turn their back.
I will never ask for "forgiveness" from my abusers. And for you to suggest such a thing, is disgusting. You are in no position to judge me. God knows the REAL truth and what I've been put through. Keep your nose stuck in the air, just aim it away from me.

    • @anotherhealingjourneybegins
      @anotherhealingjourneybegins  2 года назад +5

There's a lot of ignorance to unpack in your comment 1) Other religions do not force you to abandon your family because he or she smoked a cigarette. I once was forced to stop talking to a good JW friend of mine because they disfellowshipped her for smoking. I had to literally treat her as if she were dead. Would you do that to your mother? Your kids? Cut them off and give them the silent treatment because of something so trivial? Funny thing? You can still talk to someone else who isn't baptized, even if they smoke. So they force you to get baptized and become a member and then you CANNOT leave without losing your family and friends.
      2) I find it interesting you wanted to pick apart the basic remarks like the cigarettes, but had no problem with the child abuse.
      3) Sharing my trauma in order to heal from it is not sick. And I am not making money to do this. I did this because I've spent the past 15 years suffering from being traumatized from abuse that this religion helped justify. You don't get to tell me who I am and what my motivations are. You. Were. Not. There.

@Tonga Khan : uh oh... don't let your God (or elders) find out you're watching apostate material!!
We wouldn't want you to get shunned and get disfellowshipped. You would have to start your own youtube channel, as well...
How any 'Christians' can hear this young man's story and still say that their cult is the 'chosen' one is amazing to me. WWJD much? (Spoiler: He'd be accepting and loving)
My prediction is that the Internet will herald the end of Jehovah's Witnesses... mainly by them discovering the rampant child sexual abuse cases coming to light, OR by JWs hearing the truth about the failed past predicted end times, OR by realizing that eight elderly men don't have a hotline to heaven, OR they see apologists like you here, clearly on the wrong side of what is moral and right, slinging shade on an abused, disfellowshipped ex-JDUBYA.
Maybe we should be grateful, for in your own apostate-video-watching-and- responding way, you are helping, if even in a small way, to bring about the end of JW.
How? By showing you to be just another hypocrite in the cult. Congratulations, and thank you.

    • @daniellamcgee4251
      @daniellamcgee4251 2 года назад +8

Tonga Khan, are you aware of the Australian Royal Commission? I recommend you look into that before judging whether Jehovah's Witnesses are more moral than other people.
If you think child abuse and rejection is moral, you have some warped values that violate human rights.
If you think human sexuality is immoral, you might want to take that up with Jehovah whom you believe is The Creator of All, including the biology for sexual urges and same sex attraction.
Also, if 'man' is created in God's image, I am pretty sure God would be pretty empathetic about sexuality.
