The events in Beast's Castle takes place before Gaston even shows up to fight Beast and considering Beast turned human based on the credits I'm guessing they skipped the Gaston stuff off screen
Just like the Rest of the Organization, Xaldin is one badass and difficult boss. I always saw the Organization kind of like the Akatsuki... But more unknown in power.
Beast had a score to settle with Xaldin in that fight. He tried to have Beast fall to Darkness, he tried to steal the rose, drive a rift between Beast and those who care about him and he tried to escape with the rose with Belle as a hostage. That fight with Xaldin is Beast settling the score with that Organization member.
People may have trouble with Demyx but this guy was my first major roadblock. His damn teleportation and DM in phase 2 made Swiss cheese out me on my first playthrough in 2.5. Even with Mickey’s help, Xaldin always kicked my behind to the curb. Compared to Demyx, he spams his DM more than Demyx does his water clones!
I got knocked twice and couldn't even beat him with Mickey, he helped me lower his health bar but i had to spam valor and master form to actually kill this bastard

AntiHoodBravi actually this isn’t true. In the first Kingdom Hearts game, Xemnas was a secret boss in Hollow Bastion. If Beast is in your partly at that time, he will fight Xemnas with you.

He got benched in 3 but Xaldin was one of the best villains in 2.....his presence made the Beauty and the Beast's world feel important, and he was menacing. His boss fight taking place here instead of the org castle also helps this world stand out. I feel Demyx and Luxord should have been more like him, as in, more involved in the Coliseum and Pirate world respectively
Benched in 3? The only members that got benched were Demyx and Vexen. Xaldin regained his human form and became Dilan again. He chose not to go back. He can't be benched if he isn't a member.
Xaldin is the only Organization 13 member I hated the most took me 10 tries nearly broke my controller and stood up all night just to kick his ass proud mode hate him so much

I remember being stuck on this boss for so long as a kid but, now after replaying the game for the first time in forever, I beat him first try lol. This game brings so much nostalgia.
I'm the opposite way, lol; beat him relatively easily way back when on my PS2 on Proud, now I'm struggling to beat him on Proud on my PS3! I've died dozens of times, but just can't seem to crack him! It probably has something to deal with the fact that I skipped the return to the Land of Dragons...^^;

It would have fit his character since his boss fight was harder than Xigbar's and Saix's, him being the strongest member after Xemnas in KH2, him being more cold than the others and have the second highest seat

I'm shocked that i actually beat him in one go on critical final mix, while i died a million times to him in standard mode on the ps2 version. Demynx was actually harder in my critical run. I died like 6 times to Demynx on critical, but somehow beat Xaldin in one round, the one boss fight i thought would give me trouble.
I just got screwed fighting this guy when my drive gauge made me the worthless dark Sora. He literally had one HP but wouldn't go down. What a bullshit mechanic.
I know Dilan feels regret for what he did, but I gotta say Xaldin was great as a villain, really playing his part in the lie he was told. Almost _no_ interest in gaining a heart, independent among the members, sadistic, cold, and loves to manipulate others through their weaknesses’. Makes me wish he stuck around in the organisation instead of being reduced to a background character with no voice.
Even if I haven't played any Kingdom Hearts game yet, I heard that Mickey can appear when you die against Xaldin, and I'll be lucky to beat him and Demyx Years later, I found both of them. I actually lost to the first fight against Demyx once. Second fight none at all. Xaldin... I almost died twice. Mickey saved me twice without a game over.
What I appreciate about KH2 vs KH3 storytelling was that it wasn't just a retelling of the disney movies. They used the movies to help push the story of KH2 along which added to the enjoyment of each world. But with KH3, every single disney world felt like some boring filler.
Just noticed that Xaldin's beard and eyebrows creates an "X" shape on his face, but only when a nobody. Dilan has less pronunced beard edges and eyebrows. This is amazing character design damn
to people who say this boss fight is hard you clearly don't know how to mash the reaction command. When it says learn you can literally mash it 8 times and use jump on him 8 times in a row almost taking out 2 health bars then you reck his face. there you go now you can beat xaldin easily you are welcome.
I love the fact that Beast is the only guest party member from Disney who actually fights against Organization members (Xemnas in KH1 and Xaldin in 2). He's super badass.
Still the toughest mid game Boss fight that I can think of.... If you aren't good at Reaction commands like myself, you can be in a load of shit REALLY QUICK in this battle.... This is my first Crit mode playthrough and I just defeated him...out of absolutely PURE FREAKING LUCK.

I think all 3 organization XIII Boss fight songs are amazing (Chain of memories, thirteenth dilemma, thirteenth struggle) and I have a hard time deciding if this is my favorite or if thirteen struggle is better. It’s really hard to say and tough but I think this slightly edges that one out but barely. I like the one from Chain of Memories a lot but compared to both in this game, it can’t be in consideration despite it being great on its own.
I had so much trouble fighting him, and the reason I won was because of Mickey on my first play through. When I came back to this game to play on proud mode I was not looking forward to fighting this boss and was made more harder that Mickey only saved me either twice or not at all throughout that whole fight, and the only reason I managed to beat him was on a lucky hit as he was teleporting.

Switch out Beast with Donald and Goofy. Equip both Donald and Goofy with powerful items and abilities. After that, beating Xaldin is easy.

Xaldin is one of the biggest reasons why the Dragoon class is god tier.
I just beat Xaldin and then my game crashed, and my last save point was before I had to persuade Beast, so now I have to do that all over again. ;3;

This was the battle that taught me how good Reflect and Duck Flare was.
Just noticed that Xaldin's beard and eyebrows creates an "X" shape on his face, but only when a nobody. Dilan has less pronunced beard edges and eyebrows. This is amazing character design damn

to people who say this boss fight is hard you clearly don't know how to mash the reaction command. When it says learn you can literally mash it 8 times and use jump on him 8 times in a row almost taking out 2 health bars then you reck his face. there you go now you can beat xaldin easily you are welcome.

you are probably very under levelled then for the fight you can literally destroy him with jump x8

I love the fact that Beast is the only guest party member from Disney who actually fights against Organization members (Xemnas in KH1 and Xaldin in 2). He's super badass.
The Learn move was your best friend in this fight.
Still the toughest mid game Boss fight that I can think of.... If you aren't good at Reaction commands like myself, you can be in a load of shit REALLY QUICK in this battle.... This is my first Crit mode playthrough and I just defeated him...out of absolutely PURE FREAKING LUCK.

Anytime I watch Beauty and the Beast now, I get PTSD flashbacks from seeing this goddamn bridge.
I think all 3 organization XIII Boss fight songs are amazing (Chain of memories, thirteenth dilemma, thirteenth struggle) and I have a hard time deciding if this is my favorite or if thirteen struggle is better. It’s really hard to say and tough but I think this slightly edges that one out but barely. I like the one from Chain of Memories a lot but compared to both in this game, it can’t be in consideration despite it being great on its own.
I had so much trouble fighting him, and the reason I won was because of Mickey on my first play through. When I came back to this game to play on proud mode I was not looking forward to fighting this boss and was made more harder that Mickey only saved me either twice or not at all throughout that whole fight, and the only reason I managed to beat him was on a lucky hit as he was teleporting.
