Travelers upset over lack of bathroom, seats as Philly Greyhound bus switches to curbside pick-up

- In late June, Greyhound traded their Filbert Street bus terminal for a small office on Market Street. It now operates similar to other budget bus companies, with travelers waiting on the sidewalk for transfers and pick-ups. There is no indoor waiting area, seats or bathrooms.

This is ridiculous,no restrooms,no seating, who makes decisions like this…and the city government signed off on this ,a disturbing sign of incompetence and possibly corruption….
Greyhound is doing this all over the country. Sometimes they don’t even submit the required plans to the local government. They need to be fined by the Feds
Blame your HOMELESS!!!!
CONSEQUENCES of the HOMELESS....
Some cities have really nice Greyhound stations. 🚌
@@alfredsantella6477 Richmond va is really nice the last time I was there in 2011…won’t take the bus now though.
To the woman taking her family to Atlantic City, the NJT phone app is running summer discount tickets to Atlantic City on the train out of 30th Street. It'll be much more comfortable
DOES THE ( NEW JERSEY TRANSIT) STILL OPERATE BUSES TO AND FROM PHILADELPHIA TO ATLANTIC CITY??
@@ccjjock4002Yes they do
That's not a bus station that's a public side
This a damn embarrassment
To get to AC , you can jump on the PATCO Speed line, and get off in Lindenwold. There is a bus that will take you to Atlantic City, and at the Lindenwold Station, there are bathrooms. The AC bus is not express. Want to get to AC faster, then right in the Lindenwold station, look for a door, almost next to the Patco entrance. This is the commuter rail to Atlantic City. When you enter buy your tickets. It's less than 30 minutes to Atlantic City, for a nice comfortable ride. If you are hungry or thirsty, go outside and walk straight across the park lot, if you see a fast food place, Burger King , I think, then across from them will be a full service diner . Really good food and service, clean bathrooms. Open 24 hours a day. Don't forget to buy tickets for all traveling, before you board the train. There are machines inside the front entrance doors, and more I think on the platform. Bring cash, and a valid credit card. There's no ticket agents at the station, or on the train. NJT though very customer friendly on the train, does not take kindly to fare evaders. This is not Philly's SEPTA, or the MARKET FRANKFORD EL, or BROAD STREET SUBWAY.
For years, I road Greyhound buses all over the country. Not since they closed the station in Mt Laurel, N.J.
And I'm not going to Philly bus station to be treated like this. Sorry greyhound, but our relationship is over.
Urine, feces, needles are everywhere
This will kill the company. They are not giving you a super discount to make up for the lack of shelter and restrooms. People experiencing this will either switch to a true no frills discount bus service or seek another way to travel.
Assuming they are not idiots then they must know this and don't care.
PHILLY IS A BIG CITY ! ALL THOSE EMPTY STORES FRONT THEY CANT BE SERIOUS ?
its all the rich folk just sitting on their investments and being lucky enough to be in the "in" crowd so as not to be penalized or pressured from the city with rent an taxes etc etc etc during a major economic downturn and until all this blows over and they can conveniently come out on the other side smelling like roses with a 30% - 55% + increases in their employees salaries, product pricing and the company's margins, whilst whining about how the struggled through the resession or whatever
... its economic warfare, rich vs. poor.... the elites and their tyranical politician buddies along with all their tyrannical & traitorous police departments, sheriffs and corrupted judicial system that protect these "elite" criminals and enforce lawless corporate statute which in the end is produced, manipulated and maintained for the sole benefit of the wealthy few and _THEIR_ organizations and "secret societies" that JFK wrned us about .
This is happening everywhere, not just Philadelphia. Many Greyhound bus stations are closing because his parent company Flixbus, are selling off iconic bus stations just to save money. Congress are not stepping in and do something about it?
And I’m sure a lot of those stores only allow their own customers to use their facilities.
Amtrak would never treat customers that way
I hope not because I take Amtrak 3 times a year.
I hope Amtrak doesn't follow suit. Wake up peeps you need a change in your politics.
How is this legal?!? What provisions are being made for senior and disabled travelers?
Greyhound doesn’t care
Greyhound is mostly bankrupted right now.
They should switch to mega bus or Bolt bus terminal even amtrak is better than that
I walked past the Greyhound station yesterday in Philly and saw it had a barricade in front of the doors. I just assumed they shut it down because I know they want to build a arena in Center City for the Sixers and Flyers in that area.
all part of the orchestrated confusion and chaos to nag nag nag , annoy , annoy , annoy the community until everybody gets tired of all the inconveniences and stops fighting the arena plans so the area "elites" & "socialites" who want their stadium can have their stadium... scumbag communists run our country now
Even Camden has a terminal
Camden is own by New Jersey Transit not Greyhound
Kickbacks.
Philly style.
💯 When the "right contractor" comes into play, the work will be done.
@@citizenjournalist2401 And here we sit, despite EVERYONE & THEIR MOTHER knowing of the severe corruption that infests our government and society even down to our local level now.
Yet we continue to sit and do nothing whilst our selfish, complicit, go-along-2-get-along, order following "fellow countrymen/women" continue to benefit from their networks of nepotism generated criminal behavior, beit willingly involved or otherwise
good people need to start doing something _NOW_
Prayers to you all and philadelphia The elite shiting on its people.😢
My aunt took the Newark to Atlanta routes for many years, they added Philadelphia route years ago but the main layover was mostly Richmond Va, but after the stations continued to close, and you had to be drop off at corners, and stores parking lots, we cut that out! Greyhound has really went downhill!
What happened to the bus station next to the Chinese bus station
Unbelievable and now they’re closing a bunch of stations
Terrible
Flexbus is probably part of the blame. Since they have taken over Greyhound, they have been streamlining and, in some cases, outright closing some stations.
Took Greyhound cross-country sometime back; a bizarre experience to say the least.
THE GERMAN COMPANY THAT BOUGHT GREYHOUND HAS MESSED IT UP SO DAMN BAD - I WILL BE TAKING THE TRAIN FROM NOW ON. THIS GERMAN COMPANY HAS DESTROYED ONE OF OUR MAIN TRANSPORTATIONS! - WHY OUR COUNTRY WOULD ALLOW THIS, IS ONLY ... MONEY ... TO HELL WITH CUSTOMERS!
Philadelphia needs to invest in a modern bus terminal hub. The Government there has really run that city into the ground. Start charging for restrooms it may keep the riff raff out. They charged years ago and it's a common thing in The EU. Put an attendant in the lavs. Keep up with the waiting and seating areas and you can have a world class and great bus depot for the citizens who use it inbound and outbound and deserve it. And add a couple of FRIENDLY knowledgeable agents. 🚌 Have the station protected by Police or Security Guards. 🇺🇲 Good Luck beautiful Philadelphia!
Why did they close the other station?
@@yuriypasternak6641 not yet and Greyhound had already planned on vacating the Filbert St facility. Meanwhile the owner of the Filbert St terminal building, which isn’t Greyhound, had been marketing it since well before the 76ers announced their arena plans.
Try Amtrak (Amlate) next time true the trains run late often but the train does have food service cars and restrooms. Most cities have an indoor station for passengers to wait in.
I just rode the bus in Florida and it’s the same thing. Wait outside by the curb in the hot sun.
The business in that location must be pissed.
Sad treatment from rider of Greyhound from the 1980's 1990's for business & let's hope Greyhound stays
Slowly we see America deteriorating more and more each day.
Greyhound passengers will have to wear diapers and bring their own folding chairs.
The gray doggie has gone to the.dogs😢😮😢
All the money is going to take care of the migrants 😢
Most of our taxpayers money is going overseas to Ukraine and Isreal. No money for American taxpayers
There's going to be some pretty heavy urine smell there ,
Amerikkka in crisis !!! 😢😢😢
😲🚌🚽
Gotta thank the Jim Kenney administration for their contribution to this mess..
Dude, this is a national problem not a local problem. If anyone wants to be blamed for this problem is FlixBus, which took over Greyhound almost 2 years ago by cutting back and selling off iconic bus stations. that Amtrak ought to take over Greyhound and picked them up from the Amtrak stations across the country
The citizens keep voting the same way. So sad. 🇺🇲🚌
Wow Unbelievable 😢
What happened to the bus station?
Gross!
75 years on unbroken democrat rule!!!
Hows it working out?
Hahaha
And they'll vote the same way over and over again. They better wake up! Change is needed. 🇺🇲
