  • This is my favorite humidifier and diffuser combo. I have 2 of them and will be getting a third. They are very easy to use and last for up to 12 hours on the highest setting.

    Are you supposed to use distilled water instead of tap?

    • @neverinthemoment

      You can use tap water or distilled. Using distilled means you won't have to clean the inside of the base as near as often as you would with tap water.

    Thanks for the video. Lavoit seems to have several models in this rpice range. The 150 and the one you review here. Differences? Or just a different year but same unit?

    I just read the PDF manual and concur with top comment:
    You definitely do _not_ put any water or essential oils in the base.
    Plz do the honorable thing and remake this video with the correct instructions and take this one down.
    Also, you can fill it with a jug- ideally with distilled water

      The user manual that came with my machine (which I still have) state to put the essential oils directly into the base chamber.

      @@MyProjectWeekendwell, maybe it varies by country, maybe it's something to do with the electrics, but in the UK, manual states to only add water/oils to the tank

      @@SpiritPhoenixRoseI reached out to customer support and they told me the online instructions were not updated. They used to recommend putting the oils in the tank but found it caused issues. They now recommend only putting oil in the base of the Dual 150 model.

      @@MyProjectWeekendfound my paper manual: Like I said, maybe it varies by country but, thrice it says never to add water to the directly into the base chamber;
      "only add water to the water tank. The humidifier will automatically release the correct amount of water into the base chamber"
      But you're right about the essential oil; it (optionally) does go into the base

      In the grand schemes of things two drops of oil will not matter where it goes base or tank it will still be in the water.

    How often the sponge needs to be replaced?

      @MyProjectWeekend  10 месяцев назад +1

      The manufacturer does not have a recommendation on this except for when trouble shooting. If there is little or no mist coming out you may need to change the filter. I personally change mine about every 6 months or so. If you have hard water or you notice it getting dirty you mat consider changing it more often.

    The provided directions are horrible and this video is an excellent guide on how to setup.
