I love how Lingxiao’s way of comfort is just hugs. Like from the start we see that Lingxiao us rather reserved and quiet and he rarely shows too much affection. But he finds comfort in Jianjian since a young age and from the scene we see how Lingxiao really needs Jianjian as just an emotional comfort
he sure does, and I love how you showed it in your comment. His mother blamed him for the death of his sister, than when she got into an accident, she started to control his life. He sure does need hugs, lots of them.

@@armyuq1518 theres only 40 episodes. 46 is mango tv/hunan tv version. because each episode is only 30 minutes, while standard episode is 45 min. so if you watch all 40 episodes on iqyiyi or youtube then you are good.

all C-dramas were made 1 or 2 years before. After all process set, they're just waiting for airing. Like this drama, Go Ahead was made since 2019 and aired in 2020. (sorry for my bad English) 😄

Jianjian was the light in the darkness, the calm in the storm for both Ling and Xiqui. In this episode & not the only time, Ling is hugging JJ tight, hanging on for dear life shortly after his argument with his mom.
In another episode, Ziqiu was upset, LX & JJ searched for him & found him, JJ immediately realized he was missing one shoe, she found the other shoe, checked his foot for scratches & then put his shoe on his foot, Ziqiu hugged her so tight, hanging on for dear life that JJ said she couldn't breathe. I so LOVE the relationship these three have, and also the relationship these 3 and 2 Dads have!

@@janhavizambre11 I loved this drama so much, I can't get over it! It's one of those dramas that leaves an imprint on you that you don't forget. A combination of awesome family dynamics, brotherly love, special friendship, and a beautiful love story of childhood sweethearts... because we know JJ considered LX her brother in a sense, but she looked at him differently & they said in one episode LX proposed to her as a child & Ziqiu at one point mentioned how LX & JJ were already betrothed to one another. Just the 9 years apart & psycho mom put a damper on things for awhile.

Nobody is talking about JJ's roke when it comes to dealing with long xiao's mother... Although she also feels hurt and is annoyed, she acts as if she's fine coz she has to help long xiao deal with his emotions. It's really sweet to see how our carefree JJ suddenly shows maturity when it's the need of the hour...

@@reneejoshenoch 对，非常生活化，但是又略带一点点偶像剧的元素，不是那种纯粹的家长里短大妈剧，偶像剧成分也不落入俗套。我很喜欢这种风格。太智障的纯偶像剧看不下去，感觉特别地摊文学，观众审美和智商常常被冒犯。

What i really hoped is that they added a scene where they visited the daughter who died.. just at least for closure since the destruction of their family started there. Ling xiao could’ve finally let go of the guilt he had since he was young and his mother couldve also forgiven herself and finally move on
It's been over a month since this drama ended and I still can't get over it. I can't get out of this drama and I honestly I don't want to. It's honestly one of the best dramas ever this year. It's a family centered drama, yet includes a dash of sweet romance, similar to an idol drama. I love the main cp! Their romance is so different from any idol romance drama. Their relationship started off as family love that slowly developed into something more. Unlike other dramas where the cp falls in love within a week of knowing each other so their encounters are awkward. But there's no awkwardness between this cp. It's so natural and comfortable. I love looking at this couple. Idc what others say, this couple is my ultimate bias.

Yes, this relationship is very rare in other dramas because they usually favor a new lovers relationship with another man rather than developing the sibling relationship into a lovers relationship. Kudos to the script writer and the director who have been able to gradually develop their relationship from siblings to lovers smoothly and make us accept it easily. It’s a relationship with a beautiful mixture of siblings and lovers feelings. And the main cp acted this relationship so naturally .Beautiful drama.
I only finished it this early this week, but I can't count how many videos like this I've seen, even with no English subtitles, I can't stop watching it! Absolutely loved it & not only do I hope for season 2 (hopefully without mommy dearest) but hope to see them together in another drama!

Kind of. Multitude of reasons. I think it was more to show Jianjian and his Mum that their relationship is solid and can't be broken (basically his Mum has to accept it but unfortunately it provoked his Mum). It was also to reassure her not to be intimidated by his Mum & that he's not hiding and coz he was grateful for the effort Jianjian went to bring his Mum & Sister sendoff gifts. Also I think it was to comfort Jianjian & himself to control his building anger at his Mum's emotional blackmail tactics.

Actually, this was from episode 35, I remember as it such a heart-wrenching scene. It wasn't to provoke his Mom, but below I'm sharing a comment found on ep.35 that explains it better than I can. Including the name, so not taking credit here.
"The scene where LX kisses JJ in front of his mom and sister is very important. He does not do it to show off. He suffers from extreme anxiety and panic attacks whenever he faces his mom and her creepy behavior. His only escape is JJ. He finds comfort in JJ's love.
We see, immediately after his mom leaves, he goes and hugs JJ tightly, as if holding on to the only piece of hope. Grasping for breath. He is suffocated by his mom's toxicity and her decision to settle back made him all the more anxious and uncomfortable. He tries to calm himself down by hugging JJ. He tries to regain composure. He finds his home and calm in JJ.
When they hug, we see Light shining through them. That's the sign that JJ brings in light in the dark world of LX. Amongst his immense childhood trauma and traumatic experiences while living with his mom, she is his only piece of strength and calmness.

I felt the same, but she just put it in words much better than I could. :) He didn't kiss to provoke mom, you will see often Ling will hug her TIGHT mostly when he's stressed & that kiss was a bit stressed... it's like she is his light in darkness, the air he breathes... (oh my that reminded me of a song i love (The Air that I Breathe), JJ is his calm in his storm...

I think its to release his frustration toward his mother, jian jian is like a healer for him.
It’s like Jianjian is his source of energy. Dealing with his mother exhausted him so he really needed a refill. He didn’t do it because his mother was there. That’s how vital she is to him.
