No need to close accounts lol. My PayPal is linked to my checking account lol. I never keep more than $1000 in my checking account. Just link an account you don't keep money stashed in.
I have a small business, and used PayPal since 2003. In October 2020, I received an email from them saying I could no longer use them, and that they would hold onto my PayPal balance (around $450) for 6 months in case there were any chargebacks against me. I called them, and asked them why this happened. The guy said that it was a separate department at PayPal who does this, and that I could not contact that department because "they have no phone and no email". Yeah, right. He did say that it is usually because of violating the terms. So I read the terms, line-by-line. The only thing that I could see was "engaging in a business that generates complaints". EVERY business gets complaints! I've had a few complaints during those 17 years, but 90%+ of those complaints were ruled in my favor. Anyway, after 6 months, I was hoping to get my PayPal balance returned to me. But PayPal kept it. Their reason was "damage to Paypal".
They did the same to me, but with $2k. Damn near put me out of business! PayPal should be shut down and its owners and people who make these decisions should be jailed. No exceptions.
