What if this really was INnoVation's master-plan from the start: to establish a reputation as the most "standard" player in the world, then surprise everyone as the actual master-cheeser years later. His whole SC2 career would've been one massive cheese in itself. Pure genius
no its zerg late game has become so op vs terran that even Innovation can't win properly. Its either cheese or all-in. If zerg manages transition to late game that's 100% gg because in late game zerg have every possible advantage over terran and then some. its so bad its ridiculous. I was ill during the previous week-end and spent most of the time watching stream of very good terrans, over 5k mmr. guess how many times terran won a game vs zerg in a late game scenario? Not A Single Freaking Time.
林仕翰 everyone thought rogue will win 3-0 but this is different case. Innovation is playing high level mentally game and chesse was apart in his plan. Now it's time to reconsider about innovation. Who know with this he might won StarCraft2 tournament. I'm bet he has more then this.
INnoVation is actually an AI: He developed a perfect macro style that he pulled off every time. Then when people started to counter it he tried out a handful of other strategies and settled on the one with the best success rate to fall back to whenever an opponent counters his default style too well. It's just a simple "if (counter too stronk) do (triple barracks bunker rush)".
they didnt realy learn to counter it, it seems just not to be either good enough anymore or bio is not as strong as It used to be. besides the strongest counter to terran cheese is sending out drones on 0:01 to kill/harras the scv's from building the barracks and youre good to go
Why are people mad? I think that was a brilliant plan..... I mean, I’m new to SC2 so I don’t know what’s in and out but I think mind games is part of RTS. Isn’t that why fog of war exist?
People are mad because they feel the pain of the zerg player. Because they miss the old Innovation. Because they wanted the Terran to lose. Because this is the internet and people will find litterly anything to be mad about.
tarch aluchard The real problem is, while I think cheese is funny and a legit strategy. Terrain has the best defense and offense when cheese happens. This match is a perfect example, he cheese 2 times successfully. One of the only ways for Zerg to counter this is the last match counter. Go into a quick spam of zerglings and swarm the proxy. At this point in pro lvl a counter to terrain cheese is an all in. But if the terrain goes standard and gets full wall the ling's will die as they get blasted from behind the wall. If a Zerg fails a proxy it's over 300 for a hatchery. If protoss fails a proxy they loose all there buildings at the very least, 250 lost minimum. If a terrain fails, they just lift up there buildings and fly back to base, in most cases. Loss around what ever reactors and tech labs costed.
I'm kinda mad because I only play Zerg, can't really play with the other races properly (because I haven't bothered when I began, I went straight into Zerg and... well, I can play terran like a bot on easy, but Protoss it's just gg always) and I notice that reacting to cheese from both Protoss or Terran is really, really difficult to counter. Most probably because I was a noob, but when watching these last games from Inno, I still have no clue how to defend against a Terran bunker/proxy bar build And that'd be just one game. I can't imagine how tilted I'd be if I was in a tournament and my opponent began to mix between a 10 second cheese and a normal build, to the point where I'd have to pretty much guess in the first 3 seconds for a 50/50 if I need to go pool first, 6 zerg rush, or hatchery first. Again, I'm a noob, so no worries lol but I can feel the pain
On the other hand , late game micro for terran looks a lot harder, even on there lvl. What they have to do to just survive a fight, when a swarm of ling banes is charging in is insane.
not when its the 3rd 4th 5th time in a row, its like seeing mass oracle every dam zvp it gets boring when one side has such a massive disadvantage, i hope this strat gets patched out its old
@@thiefofa1073 Because Rogue was expecting INnoVation to cheese again. So without scouting and knowing for sure that INnoVation was actually cheesing. So Rogue went for 13/12 which is early lings. normally you don't want to do this against Terran because Terran usually walls off their entrance which would easily defend against the early lings, this leaves Zerg at a large economic disadvantage because he spent time and resources on the early lings instead of drones and another hatchery. Rogue could have tried to catch up but he was probably so pissed off and was at such a disadvantage at that point that he just gave up.
INnoVation is like playing an existential crisis here. He must be before his screen mumbling " I don't have time for this, what am I doing with my time ? Should close this fast and live the dream. "

okay let's add in: -Both players are at a similar skill level if the 1st Terran Macro guy strugles at late game than it's Terran is just too weak at lategame...
Lowko what's beautiful about Zerg late game being so OP vs terran late game that even the best macro player on the planet is forced to cheese every game? So to answer you question what was done to Innovation - ask what Blizzard balance team have done to terran. We are being forced to all-in or cheese in both non-mirror match-ups (less so in TvP after marauder buff, but still if toss manages to go sky its gg, thus 1 or 2 base attack that will delay or cancel 3-d is mandatory). Now Zerg is even more oppressive than it was in the beginning of LoTV: back then our mid game was stronger, we had WM, Liberator without million of nerfs it received since then and a Raven, while zerg haven't received yet plenty of buffs they got over the years since lotv release (both mid and late). Now its a lot harder to get any sort of advantage in the mid game so zerg transitions to late game where he have every advantage possible over terran and then some. All-in or die trying - that's the current meta.
if you watched latest GSL Season 2 2018 Maru v Rogue, Maru won 2 games in 5mins, and a 3rd because he killed 17 drones luckily with hellions at the start. The 2 games he lost to Rogue however, he played a long macro game going early CC and lost. Maru has been winning because he plays very aggressive, while Inno is now being forced to
In al honesty, there are only two games I have seen where a protoss seems to dominate a zerg. One was neeb, doing what I just described, never letting the zerg control more than about a third of the map and constantly slow pushing him back, the whole while having minimal drones and in the end none before closing it out. The other being Mana who somehow snuck around behind the zerg after they took 5/6ths of the map and destroyed his tech structures, so when the zerg went to remax he could not build almost anything he wanted to. That gave mana the time to actually push across about half the map and destroy the zergs new mining bases. The old bases ran out of minerals so the zerg could not rebuild even once the tech structures were rebuilt. That strat could probably work for Terran too.
yeah but you can't consistently pull out the "If I do a perfect drop i win" scenario, so you either gamble 50% 50% at all in, or you go for a long game hoping you'll pull out a great drop (wich is rare) before Zerg overpowers you...
Good God, that was hilarious. I thought surely Innovation would lose 0-3 are that start and only a 30 minute video. That is awesome. Zerg trigger activated.
9:43 it's like I always said, Terrain should build more than 1 turret when they see groups of mutas. Well worth it to spend 200-300 on a turrets than lose a bunch of scv's as well as lost mining time and forcing marines to stay at home. Mutas usually kill 1 turret but they take too many loses when there are multiples.

so the race with the slowest wall, half decent rush is greedy against terrains that have always had marine rush and protoss that has oracles (not to mention cannon rushes on lower ladder)? how do you even figure?
Ever since the 40 drones macro, zerg has established itself as a greedy race. Because they have magnificent early defense strategies at the start of every game (wall isn't that needed. And BTW you can wall with two queens. The strongest unit in the game), as long as you expand really quickly, zerg have the upper hand because they can set up your economy faster. The only ways to stop zerg from getting a huge army are harass successfully which is really hard because zerg is amazing at defense, or cheese, when zerg may get caught off guard for being greedy. That's the point of this game. The fact that zerg surrendered for that is annoying as fuck. Like, do your scouting man. Invest a bit more in army. Cancel your fast expo if you see cheese. Or how about expand just a tiny bit later and don't be greedy if you expect all ins.
i dont know if that can be called greedy if its integral to victory, but yeah i mostly agree just disagreeing with 1 thing harassing doesnt have to do damage, preventing expansions and keeping them in is already damage, so yeah, i can accept zerg being greedy if the neccesary risk is also acknowledged any harassment against a zerg is effective because it means we are not making drones its the cost that backfires
Sometimes when watching Zerg matches it just looks like attack move and beat the enemy army due to sheer mass and quantity. Personally why I don’t like Zerg matches and prefer TvT, TvP or PvP.
You can get more susceptible to colds if you frequently go from cold AC indoor to quite hot outdoors (for Dutch standards at least). Grass polen isn't too bad here right now, nor are most other alergens, so I suspect an AC-thing.
This was the greatest worst most wonderful thing I've seen in a very long time. I don't know how it makes me feel, but Lowko always demands that I smile, and this video made me smile, so...
I love Rogue, I asked you, Lowko, to cast him a bit more last year and you told me, that he doesn't have that many replays avaliable, so I most definitely enjoy these games.
He folded like a lawn chair. That was the best player playing another player, he read him like a book. That was always the plan, I'm sure he didn't know it would work out so well. He took advantage of his opponents greed for as long as he could.
I'm really glad muta/ling/bane isn't the meta because I used it all the time to get to platinum. Really caught them off guard. Even if I just made 6 mutas, a lot of terran would overreact and waste all their resources on missile turrets. I struggle a lot with it late game though.
Hey Lowko, I know it's hard to follow this level of play, but could you give us a little more time to see what's going on? You know, we all don't have your apm! Anyway, awesome games! Thank's for sharing it with us and adding your commentaries! With love from France
When I hit my peak years I was rushing about 90% of all my games. All critical timing attacks. Of course I lost at times, opponent defends the rush, stops the 1st wave, stops the timing attack, defends the drop... I'm so far behind it's over.
I usually don't complain about balance, but if Rogue loses to a cheese he already knows is coming, I think there might be something wrong. Aren't cheesy builds supposed to be really strong if unscouted but easy to hold if scouted?
You used to upload a some videos in 4K resolution earlier. Is there any reason why you stopped doing that (or so it seems)? I think it was really great!
Hey lowko a good way to clear your nose and unstuff it is to put some vics vapo rub on a qtip and put it inside your nose, works all the time for me, as well as eating some black halls mints
735-8 looks more like a control interface mistake than a judgement mistake, especially since recovering from a judgement error is almost instantaneous and happens naturally at the next data point while a control scheme issue requires abandoning the sequence and re-establishing integration with situational awareness.

M. voors or it is a Colombian cold.
Yeah, he has a cold like every week. It's snowing in June, apparently.
You can get more susceptible to colds if you frequently go from cold AC indoor to quite hot outdoors (for Dutch standards at least). Grass polen isn't too bad here right now, nor are most other alergens, so I suspect an AC-thing.
lol had the same problem, if you have tons of "colds" (that seemingly aren't contagious at all) you probably just have hay fever
I don't even know his normal voice, every single game I've seen him cast he said "i'm having a bit of a cold right now"
Wow what a series, thanks Lowko for the cast :D surely INnoVation is one of my fav players
INnoVation hit puberty.
This reminds me of BoxeR's triple bunker cheese toward YellOw in Brood War. Classic cheese never gets old; a traumatic moment for Zerg players.
Havent played starcraft for like 10 years, then suddenly i chain watched 10 lowkotv videos hahahaha so good!
Dammm that was so awesome!! Did not expect him to win that like that
I'm excited for the Innovation v Lowko confrontation where Lowko goes full Obi Wan and curses at Innovation for joining the dark side.
I will take this chance to say this:
Power overwhelbing!
I could notice it when you said overwhelming.
More like : cheese overwhelming
31 min vid, rouge must win 3-0
Anarchy Seeds well...
Did u even watch?
woooosh
oh boy , were you wrong
Not quite the case
I need to take a shower and wash my eyes with soap. because this is the dirtiest match i have watched 30:28
Rogue be like
"You're kind of an asshole!"
Next Level Warfare...such great display of counter strategy.
Lol that drone all-in rush
Phenomenal. Lowko, this was some next level s*** for sure. Thanks! Excellent casting as always.
New gold standard, Cheese constantly then force your opponent to rage quit
First thing that came to my mind as soon as I read this was: He is INnoVating, Lowko.
He folded like a lawn chair. That was the best player playing another player, he read him like a book. That was always the plan, I'm sure he didn't know it would work out so well. He took advantage of his opponents greed for as long as he could.
I love it. The best irl plot twist.
Omg Lowko this is one of the most awesome matchs I ever seen! Love you vids.
I just wish we can see the faces of the players.
Brilliant mind games from Inno !
Ohhh man great game, I'm also surprised of the cheese of innovation ,but like confusio says "in love as war anything is possible"
Holy Void! That was sooo badass! Innovation is one of my favourites now. I love these mind games :D
I'm really glad muta/ling/bane isn't the meta because I used it all the time to get to platinum. Really caught them off guard. Even if I just made 6 mutas, a lot of terran would overreact and waste all their resources on missile turrets. I struggle a lot with it late game though.
Why have lowko not 300k yet?
top 10 questions science can't answer
waited all day for the epilogue …. oh well i still enjoy these ! have a good day everyone love from Canada !
Hey Lowko, I know it's hard to follow this level of play, but could you give us a little more time to see what's going on? You know, we all don't have your apm!
Anyway, awesome games! Thank's for sharing it with us and adding your commentaries!
With love from France
THIS WAS LEGENDARY, THIS GUY LIVES IN 3018! 9000 Mind game level
13:46 That marine micro tho.
Edit: Jesus Christ this match.
INnoVation is by far my favorite pro player, anyone can copy the meta, but only the best players can do what they want and make it work
Lowko you should watch Slayer vs Yellow. The Inventor of the Bunker Rush. Was done on pro-stage.
When I hit my peak years I was rushing about 90% of all my games. All critical timing attacks. Of course I lost at times, opponent defends the rush, stops the 1st wave, stops the timing attack, defends the drop... I'm so far behind it's over.
Lowko: Where's the INnoVation I love!
Me:Derping out.
Go cast the Homestory Cup, InnoVation vs Stephano, or the Grand Final, both insanely good matches!
This was entertaining as hell
There's nothing more satisfying than winning the game after your opponent bunker rushes you.
Ah yes Improvise Adapt Evolve
-Adolf the great painter pointing at a colored camera 1936
I usually don't complain about balance, but if Rogue loses to a cheese he already knows is coming, I think there might be something wrong. Aren't cheesy builds supposed to be really strong if unscouted but easy to hold if scouted?
Indeed, but terran cheese is really strong because of there defensive capabilities. Especially vs early zerg.
Oh man, the mind games from Inno
You used to upload a some videos in 4K resolution earlier. Is there any reason why you stopped doing that (or so it seems)? I think it was really great!
I'm sorry Lowko, but it is always a pleasure to see a terran player cheesing zergs despite the dirty way XP
The Weighted Companion ThorCube is not sentient, and in fact, cannot speak
toadofsteel and if it talks dont follow its adwises
Innovation just became my favorite player
Hey lowko a good way to clear your nose and unstuff it is to put some vics vapo rub on a qtip and put it inside your nose, works all the time for me, as well as eating some black halls mints
I don't if you have heard the mystery force of east… it is really famous in China SC2 circle…
Those mind games 😰
This was amazing to watch
735-8 looks more like a control interface mistake than a judgement mistake, especially since recovering from a judgement error is almost instantaneous and happens naturally at the next data point while a control scheme issue requires abandoning the sequence and re-establishing integration with situational awareness.
INnoVation is so fucking badass, i mean his name IS INnoVation!!!! I wanna see Inno and Stats play against Rotti and Nate.
Lowko thank you for this great video
When your opponent thinks you will cheese but you don’t, then it is also a cheese lol
30:20 that no attack win in less than 2 and a half minutes.
