when it comes to performance they are so similar. And yet, the 8060 is much smaller and lighter. that makes a difference for us boom operators as we are always looking for ways to bring the weight of the boompole lighter. in the age of digital media and directors loving to improvise and take long takes and we boom operators have to carry that boom for longer times now, every ounce counts and makes a hige difference.
Either one would work for an interview. I didn't hear much difference between the two but the 8060 is supposed to have a slightly warmer sound. The main difference between the mics is the build. The 8060 is made well and is shorter/compact. The 416 is pretty long but rugged. If you are going to be filming outside in bad weather I would say the 416 would be a better choice since it's a much heavier, more durable mic.
Listening on some old $200 headphones through my iMac the 416 has an artificial sounding top end, making it seem like it has less body too. The 8060 sounds much more natural. Again, on what I'm currently listening through.
That was interesting. Thank you Laurie.

Use a professional monitor speaker with a high quality DAC, you'll hear the difference easily
Y cual es mejor?

That is a very good observation. Lots of variables that can come into play. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!
