Lovely to see my county featuring in this episode. I was in Whitstable last weekend with my wife, enjoying a couple of drinks on the pebble beaches with that unmistakable whiff of fresh oysters in the air. There’s lots of local produce produced in Kent, especially beer & fizz due to our great growing climate. Chapledown beer & brut is definitely worth a try! Beating off competion from across the channel too 🇫🇷

my mam whose long dead now was a great baker and cooked all sorts of savoury and sweet pies , i particularly remember her wimberry pie was absolutely lovely smothered in sweet thick custard , thanks for bringing back memories of a much loved and missed mam

Hi John, Happy Friday to you! We have that in common, my mom was a great baker as well, she seemed to lean more towards baking sweets over savoury but I did enjoy the occassional meat pies she made. I looked-up the flavour of the wimberry, I think the closest thing we have to it is regular blueberrys (we can easily find those) but a recipe for wimberry pie said the wimberry has a fuller taste than the blueberry with a special edge of bitterness. Sounds good, would love to try wimberry pie with some custard or vanilla ice cream. Thank you too for bringing back memories as well, my mom hasn't been able to bake like she used to in years. Appreciate every comfort food :) Hope you have a great weekend!

@@FinnLovesFood Yes they do taste of blueberry but slightly more tart i'd say , my mam passed away in 1973 when i was just 16 but i still miss her and my dad ,who passed away in 1971 when i was 14 , it's been a hard slog but i've come through it all and own my own house and have a lovely family , how long has your mom been gone ? , i also see you're now spelling savoury and flavour correctly 😀

I'm with Tina on the oysters, they look horrible and I've never tried them, wimberries/bilberries used to be a popular thing years ago but you very rarely see them these days, well not in Manchester, I'm always interested in to how they get the flavours into crisps and i don't see a lot of them because I don't shop at some of the stores Richard has been to, I think the chorizo and tomato sounds nice but my favourite has to be the cheese and caramelised onion flavour, have a nice weekend and thanks for your video.

Cheese and onion - always a classic. It is a mystery how they make the different flavors. Dried blueberries are listed as an ingredient on those crisps in addition to the grouse and whinberry flavoring. Have a great weekend.

Huh!! *my mad face 😡😡😡😡* I blimming LIVE in the County of Kent, where the crisps are made in Canterbury (30 miles away!) - but have I seen them in my local shops sell them?? Whyyyy, Of course not!!!!!!! 🙄😵‍💫😨
we went to an animal park last year - about 35-40 miles away, stopped off at the cafe to get a snack and a cuppa when I spied the said “Kent Crisps” so - having never seen them before where I shop (remember, I used to work in a v large superstore!) I had to try them…
And I plumped for the oyster & vinegar …… ohhhh scrummy yummy!!
I wished I had bought more packets to take home with me! When I got home, I went to the Kent Crisps website to see the stockists and saw that I could get them online and from Waitrose in our famous and large shopping mall called Bluewater (ten mins away from my house!) … but I have yet to buy them! (Just never got around to doing it 🥺) but now! Yessssss!! You ought to look at the Kent Crisps webby as it tells you all about them and the flavours available
Oh and it’s pronounced Whit stab all - a really lovely town on the Kent coast (about 50 miles from me) - famous for the oysters and sailing…and fish n chips and day trips to the seaside. The beach is all pebbles but it’s a “grand day out” (as Wallace woukd say! 😃
Pleased to see you are still liking my ex employer’s Taste the Difference range! I have tried those ones and they tasted good in an avocado dip! (We were having a chili tea night! 😁)..

I live on the Isle of Man and unfortunately hardly ever see these varieties of crisps. I really want to try them after watching these videos, so might have to order a few myself.

Amazing how they are not more readily available, but glad you know where to find them now. I did take a peek at their site and the ham and mustard flavor sounds like one we'd like to try. I wish our store would carry that flavor. We don't need another sea salt, give us some interesting flavors!
I think we need to try those crisps with avocado dip.
