Hey, Happy to hear you recovered well. I had the same surgery about 4 months ago as a 19 year old, how long did it take you to start walking like before surgery? And is a little pain normal after starting to put some weight on the leg while trying to walk after recovery?
@@saadatsn4523 idk if you meant after surgery, it took 3 months before I could weight bare, pain will be there for awhile until you get it back to normal. I’m back at work and I do lift, bend, squat, kneel, with very little pain.
I had this surgery when I was 11 due to a broken hip and now I’m healing well, I am thirteen now and can’t even feel the screws, this isn’t even painful, and even though it’s near the femoral artery and the growth plates I’m still not struggling😊
@@bhaveshbhavsar848 My fracture took about three months to heal with the screws, but I have low bone density so it took longer to heal. It might take you about a month or two to regain strength because of the position of the fracture. Physical therapy will be quicker but expect X-rays maybe every one or two weeks. Hope that you recover well, but if you don’t mind me asking, how did you break it?
can anyone help me with the instrument names in this video? So the surgeon would use a pin guide (first instrument) to insert the first k wire inferiorly then attach a multi pin guide to insert the other two k wires. Is the parallel pin guide another instrument used if they do not have the multi pin guide available or is it used after the multi pin guide?
@@skmoulali9626 i had same type of injury. I am able to walk in 2 months. Don't worry stay positive and eat healthy, avoid any kind of pressure on injured leg. Don't do anything without doctors consultation.
Mom went through the surgery and it seems successful. She was drousy for two days after surgery due to the Lumbar punture anaesthesia (partial) (LP because she is chronic asthmatic patient) After two days she is back to normal. The doc discharged her but she insisted staying because she was afraid of the pain when revisiting. She is doing well now generally.
@@sarahbrennan1342 The surgery was successful. After few days she encountered bedsore in a couple of places on the fractured thigh. The doctor prescribed an antibiotic cream and ordered to change wound every other day. The bedsore dried in a few days and now the absorbable cat gut is falling down and the surgical wound is almost totally healed. The doc said that she will try walking in 3 months after surgery which now is a month and half away.

I already had a total knee replacement on the same leg as the fracture. After 9 mos of PT and every remedy known to man, the knee still hurt 14 mos post op. Then I fractured my femoral neck. I’m 75. I’m walking 6 weeks post op. Even the surgeon was amazed. Great surgeon for fracture. Not same one as knee who refused me pain meds after two weeks post op. This surgeon helped control my pain which enabled me to recover rapidly. I only had PT for two weeks, then did exercises by myself and go to the pool every chance I have. Walking in the pool and doing leg exercises as well proved most beneficial. The fracture surgery was nothing compared to the knee.
My specialist had explained this in detail. A total hip replacement is generally catered for older aged people as they have weaker bones which may cause more complications if they were do this type of surgery using cannulated screws. This type of surgery is mostly catered for younger age people, where the chances to save the femur head joint is significantly higher.
@@thammishettyrammohan well my once broken side still feelf different, but dont let that keep you down. Im going to the gym regularly and im hitting legs two time a week. Altough I have to train a little bit different compared to the time before my injury. But dont let this injury keep you down and try to make the best out of it. Walking and regular activities are no problem. Im guessing this is also because I gained some muscles on my legs again which is quiet important. If you have any questions feel free to ask me, im glad to help because I know how you feel. :)
My papa had an accident today (aged 70) and broken same bone...we are in worst tension...we dont know what happen next...dr said for surgery after two days as papa has sugar and bp problen .. pls pray for my father 🙏🏻🕉️🙏🏻

Seems in alot of these wouldn't it be easier to do a total hip replacement?

Are these screws for lifetime?
Yes
The only way they wouldn’t be is if the hip is replaced later in life
