- My cover of Elton John's 'Honky Cat' from the Honky Chateau album. This cover was recorded live at the Shanghai Theater in Branson, Missouri, with the Urban Cowboy Band during Mickey Gilley's show. Bernie Taupin wrote the lyrics of this song as an analogy of fame. I hope you'll enjoy my piano & vocal cover of it!

Would you consider learning some Mickey Gilley? I’m from Pasadena, Texas-where Mickey’s club “Gilley’s” was, which was partly the inspiration for the Urban Cowboy film. Gilley was a wonderful country piano player, much like his cousin Jerry Lee Lewis. Thanks
I'll definitely consider learning some Mickey Gilley songs! I could probably do them from memory, my family and I have been to see him perform live probably 30 times without exaggeration, haha. Thanks for the comment!
