Bobby came to the front row & I handed him a beaded Native American ivory bull skull necklace. He thanked me, shook my hand & came into the crowd to shake peoples hands. Years Of Decay & Horrorscope are 2 of the greatest, most underrated albums in ALL of Heavy Metal. Overkill should've been in the Big 4 with MegADetH, MetallicA, & Slayer instead of Anthrax!
Overkill predates all of The Big 4. East Coast thrash is very different than West Coast. Bobby on vocals and DD on bass. Bobby writes all the lyrics, DD all the music. They never got enough love. Overkill is blue collar thrash, hardass and badass.

OverKill is one of the original 80s thrash metal bands. However they are from New Jersey instead of San Francisco where the Bay Area bands were from. And because of that, they had a slightly different sound than the Bay Area bands. They were more Punk Rock influenced than the Bay Boys. So that's why you're getting the fast paced rhythms and punk like vocals of Bobby "Blitz". The vocalist and the bass player are the only two original members, but their current guitarists have been with them thru most of the 2000s. The drummers come and go rather frequently.

Since the mid 1980s the band have been making consistently great music. Their work ethic is top level, and they have managed to produce fresh thrash music on a high level for 40 years .
If you like slower heavier grooves, you should check out Horrorscope or Playing with Spiders/Skull Crusher from OverKill. A good live song would be Necro Shine or Who Tends the Fire.
