Patrick the Picker here - My wife Amber and I, along with our twin sons, go to garage sales, estate sales and thrift stores looking for things we can purchase to sell online for a profit. We sell on Ebay, Amazon FBA and Facebook Marketplace.
We are only part time, so this is part of our reseller side hustle. 2023 is going to be a great year for sales!
Gosh those Micro Machines were pricey, Spock has some wise words to make it clear...
You can't afford the luxury of being anything less than perfect. If you do, they lose faith, and you lose command.
I had honestly thought I overpaid for them, but so far as I got through the lot I keep finding individual cars that are selling for $20 or more! It's been great!
The best deal is the one that brings the most profit!
Micro machines paying for daycare on Oct. wow, massive find
Yes Sir!
Hi Patrick 🙋🏻♀️ Im surprised at the amount you got for the Tabitha DVD! Great find for sure.
Hope all is well with you and your family. Much love from San Antonio Texas ☀️☀️☀️
Me too! I was shocked! You don't find DVD's with that much value that often.
Love to your and yours!
$6 for a CD at the micro machine estate sale is insane pricing!
You're not wrong!
Hey Oh!!!
Hey Oh!!!!
I went to those 3 sales in that same order lol. I must of been right behind you. I grabbed that batman ornament set for 300 and some lladro from the fancy estate sale. They didnt have phone service in that house so they couldnt look up the pieces ha!
Ha! Too funny! I really wanted to buy more stuff from that first sale, but it was obvious that they know what they had and what the actual prices were.
Will you make any money on the Batman set? Or was it a personal purchase?
@PatrickthePicker I'll make some money on it. Two pieces are worth 350 anyway. They had a huge sale a year or two ago and I spent thousands on their themed dept 56 items. Lots and lots of disney dept 56. I did very very well
Yeah, I remember seeing the ad for that last one, but I think it started on a Friday so I usually skip those. I just happened to have some spare time Saturday morning so decided to stop. Kismet!
That's awesome that you got all of those Dept 56 sets. I love to sell those!
Hey Patrick! I notice you selling DVDs on Amazon - how did you get ungated there? They always ask me for 'receipts' before I can sell...but I get mine from yard and estate sales like you. Howwwww?? lol Nice finds
So what I had to do was purchase 10 from a wholesaler that Amazon recognized. No easy feat as most of those want you to spend at least $1,000. I bought CD’s, some video games, some electronics and some books too. Ended up taking a loss of $500, but I’m ungated! Made my money back pretty quickly honestly!
I'm curious how you decide what to sell on Amazon vs eBay? Looks like fees are quite high on Amazon?
So I'm ungated on Amazon for nearly all CD's and DVD's, so most of them will go there. The comps that I show are after fees, so that bottom line is what I'll actually make off each DVD. I mostly still brand new CD's, DVD's and Board Games on Amazon, but will still sell some on Ebay. Some items are close and I might actually make less on Amazon, but since they do most of the work, I'll still send it in to them to just get it out of the house.
Ah got it. Thank you for taking the time to reply! Always something to learn. Happy hunting!
My pleasure! I should probably find some time and do an overview of how I use Amazon for sales. :-)
@@PatrickthePicker That would actually be super helpful, thank you! I'll stay tuned!
Now I just have to find a little time to coherently talk about it! :-)
That whining child was horrible. Why bring kids to an estate sale??
I cut out the part where she started taking the Micro Machines out of the cases to play with them
@PatrickthePicker oh wow...not cool.
I hit two estate sales this weekend - one $$$$ in West Hartford (two days - spent $5 the second day) and one in East Granby where I paid over asking. It was a real estate sale and the stuff was actually old. A big no early birds "antiques" tag sale in West Hartford didn't show - good thing I was going to avoid it anyway; I knew the address. The last indoor estate sale - the Pyrex with the cornflowers is the old borosilicate glass, i.e. the good stuff. Still using mine; it's older than Patrick. The modern pieces are crap; they can shatter if you use them like the old ones. The cassettes? You had me at Coolio!
Sounds like you did pretty good at the one in East Granby! Great to see you Saturday morning BTW!
Teach me the ways!
