I don’t enjoy online play in football games because it usually just comes down to spamming a handful of broken plays and reacting to them or not. Just feels like you are abusing game mechanics to beat your opponent in most situations.
That's how I felt in Madden 24, even I was using playbooks and hot routes where it was one easy read or a handful of OP runs. I just feel like I want to know if we're going towards always on X-Factors like Madden before I buy it.

In online gameplay, it is either abuse broken mechanics and win or avoid broken mechanics and take more losses than you should. I just have never felt like football games are good to play online. It’s fun to play with friends as long as you both agree to not use certain things but this game at a competitive level is not it imo.
It’s due to the amount of cheese that plagues online. RUclips metas and cheese plays promoted by certain RUclipsrs ruin the games every year. This game was fun for the first few weeks until the cheesers found out what’s broken and exploited it. The “skill gap” has a different meaning now.
This issue is present in other games too. I can’t casually play Diablo 4 without finding players using the same exact build. As much as I blame RUclipsrs for making the meta as popular as it is, there would be no meta if everything was balanced
Online games have become unbearable to play because of the sweaty try hards that play like it's their last gahdamn game on earth. When I play a video game, I want to relax and have fun, not play a game against punchable basement dwelling sweats.
I think a lot of the offline gamers are sick of metas and gameplay being forced to change for online play only. A couple of kinda cheesy plays are fine when used in moderation especially when the cpu can still stop it sometimes but online ruins it because it forces it to be destroyed completely
Defense frustrates me sometimes too but I think offense being op is better than defense being op not a lot of good pass rushers in game rn once people mate able to unlock Perkins I’m sure there’s gonna be a shift

This mode is either if you lucked out on the glitch and have the best team and millions of coins or spend 50$ weekly for “deals” that aren’t great for them to hit their quotas. I started 5-0 in gauntlet then got back to back glitched teams with the best cards possible so unless you’re okay with mid rewards you can’t compete. The mode died 48 hours in… crazy. Yes not every game is the best team but once you get to the good to great rewards I’m literally seeing the best card in every position so it’s impossible. That glitch is the Christmas Day glitch of madden 23 but the difference is this was 48 hours in lmao. I’m telling you by September this mode will die and you will see the same group of players that’s it. You can’t get to the good rewards without playing the best team due to a glitch.
Sounds like your own fault. If you're not spending money or hitting glitches what are you doing playing h2h so quickly? You shouldn't be playing h2h until your team reaches a certain OVR. I'm 26-1 in CUT h2h as a NMS player that missed every glitch.

Same. I haven’t done an online game since its come out. Much better gaming experience. Gonna play an online dynasty with some of my friends in the sim community, but until then offline dynasty is where its at.
Basically styles: Sim vs Arcade...I think if there was a way to match players based on how they played the game, that could help. Sim players are less likely to use glitches. I'm mainly offline but enjoy the occasional online game to possibly find other like-minded players to play against in an online dynasty.
Online H2H is too much cheesing glitches. I play in an online dynasty that has sim rules, that prevents running the same glitchy play over and over. Play online and all u see is Bama, OSU, Oregon, and Georgia. It’s not fun at all.
I think it comes down to personality differences. Offline individuals would personally rather play at their own pace/ difficulty in situations they can change, whereas the online players usually like playing other people, shit talking, and the dopamine hits from winning. It doesnt help the h2h / mut community have solidifed themselves as one of the most toxic groups of people on online games all together, lose, they call you a slur, win, they call you slur

I think the thing is that we don't want a classic EA conundrum, which is fix one thing for online players and then it messes something up and the gameplay/ai becomes worse for offline players
As an offline player, I have no issue with online players. Quite frankly, it doesn't matter to me how others play the game. However you enjoy it, I'm happy for you. You game your way, I'll game my way. That said, I have had a theory for a few years that may be a reason for the offline/online beef. It mostly pertains to EA games (although its spread towards other publishers as well), and the beef should be fully against EA but I think could be misdirected towards online players by offline players. The insane rise in popularity of Ultimate Team completely changed how EA creates games. They stopped caring about trying to create good quality franchise modes and instead spent all their time and focus on Ultimate Team because customers were willing to drop so much extra money on packs just to keep up with the best online play. And offline players have misguidedly taken some of this frustration out towards online players thinking "if you all didn't turn Ultimate Team into such a profitable venture for EA, they might still be focusing on trying to make a decent franchise/career mode in their games." While CFB 25 is far from perfect and there's still features from the NCAA franchise's past that would make it a much better game (plenty of features from the Road To Heisman modes in the mid-to-late 2000s would make this seem less monotonous), it clearly had more time and love taken into the development of the actual gameplay than anything we've seen from EA in a long time.
Spent the first week or so grinding road to CFP online it was fun and I’ll be playing more. Now I’m playing road to glory and I’m equally if not more engaged in the game. Both are fun to me.
The biggest difference between online and offline plays when it comes to these glitched plays is offline you can choose to not run them and the cpu doesn't run them but online 4/5 games are kids that all they do is run the glitched plays and it makes every game the exact same
My biggest disappointment is all they are releasing are current Madden players, its like they didnt get any rights for big college stars, like an Archie Griffin
They literally said more college athletes will be added to CUT when the season starts. They've already added a few season 1 college athletes as well as conference stories college athletes, do you honestly expect many to get an upgrade before they play a game? Common sense isn't so common.
Gut, this isn't against you personally or any online guy this is just coming from my person feelings on the situation, and I'm open to a conversation. Generally it seems like the majority(not all) of content creators are focused on online play. Either playing normal online or in ultimate team. While there are a lot of issues i have with the game and some i wish to be fixed it feels like unless content creators bring these problems to the attention that a group of a player base can be overshadowed becsuse they arent the main sorce of income. This isnt specifically a college football problem this is every ea sports game. "Pros" and other influential will push for changes to how ganeplay is affected. EAFC in particular had this happen several times this year to the point the game us absolutely horrible and it has created the worst gameplay in years in my opinion. To me this is where the problem starts (even though i understand it from a companies perspective), the games modes that generate money may have 5 patches by the time a single offline patch drops. And by the time that it drops the playerbase may be exhaustee with hiw game breaking or immersion breaking those issues where. Lastly i think a lot of people see streamers or anyone who puts noney into an UT in a really really bad light. I know I do, i want the best sports game but if the community spends 500 million a year on points or the equivalent then they have a free safety net to never get better. I think a lot of people assume the online community are the people putting money into the game which isnt fair but i sympathize with the negative feelings they likely have against UT. Madden, EAFC, NHL, have not brought foward any chnages in a meaningful way to the offline player base in years. The only thing that was major that changes was the difference between a normal player, a star play and the x-factor. Personally I hate that entire system but what I'm getting at is the biggest chabge was something that was already developed for the online player base. Im sure i misspelled quite a bit and my grammar was likely horroble but these are my quick thoughts. You have a good one and I do hope the game gets the fixes it needs, i just hope the ogfline playerbase doesnt get left behind again.
Madden was the worst game I’ve ever played last year lol college football is a close 2nd.. to think that either of these two games would be a precursor in getting me to buy the newest EA game next month is HILARIOUS . I haven’t spent a dime on ultimate team in 2 years and it’s been marvelous.. it’s sad that I can’t compete anymore online but at least I’m not wasting 1000 dollars to not be able to play the game in a year lol
I havent played CFB 25 but I think offline players in general see anything put into online as taking something away from the offline experience. Which there may be something to because offline experiences in modern sports games are awful.
I’m waiting for madden 25 the new hit system and Steelers roster is the only reason why I’m playing it this year. The glitches and animations from EA haven’t changed in over a decade.
Online in all games is no wheres near sports realism. . Take suck you in with fancy card art,pack opening etc. I found a system for me that molds the 2 together. I want excitement of pack opening to go with offline stress free football 1. I will use 8 teams during year in ncaa UT 2. First month will build up enough coins so can build decent roster 3. Ex. Will use notre dame first. Once have all players from notre dame on roster i begin 4. Play squad battle games on 2nd hardest level for 4 weeks 5. Upgrade players when can etc 6. Log my own scores. 7. When month over,sell all players, start team 2. Ex oregon. 8.when done top 2 records vs squad battles i will put in ncaa title game Sounds crazy right. But think of it this way,you are playing and enjoying ultimate team, but marrying it with offline
Also fifa ,madden,ncaa football only have exact legends in ut. Created are just not the same imo. So yeah if you love packs,building rosters,use this method. Also a hybrid of it could be do same thing only play online, but think of it as notre dame vs them ,not you and will be less stressful.
at the end of the day it’s a video game everyone just enjoy the game before they ruin it. college football sees a lot a high scoring games in real life just get better. also more than half the players won’t make the nfl so i could understand the missed tackles
A guy winning the Madden championship with a punter as QB is all you need to know for why some people don't think it's legitimately a good barometer for how good you are at the game. Offline you can set some house rules about how often you can use a play, online you might start it trying to buy if the other guy is spamming 2 plays your going to start going to it because you don't want to lose by 75

I havent bought CFB 25 yet, ive been thinking about it, but i also feel like its just a clone of Madden 24, with either better offense or weaker defense from what ive seen with a lot of reviews. I dont like where MUT/CUT are headed with micro transactions. Plus ive watched tons of pack openings and havent seen anyone pull one TTU player.
I think both are fun. Building up a shit team in dynasty and getting glory in a 5 seasons and finding funny ass recruit names is great. But as a college fan...punishing someone with my favotite two teams brings pride and passion. P.s. tuten at VT is underrated with his spin move. Mini judkins.
Defense is broken, zones don’t play their zones, I even pick a cover 3 and I got my deep blues playing a damn slant route, like why are my zones playing man.
I play both, really shouldn’t be an issue like it is but like you said this shit is like politics. Both are good in their own right, people just want a reason to be mad it seems. Definitely issues in both but it’s not something to attack the other side of the community over.

No way should you get anywhere close to the same rewards as people winning h2h because it's simply harder to play a human than to go against the AI. Humans can correct for mistakes where AI can't. No one should tell anyone to kill themselves, but stop complaining about taking the easiest route but not getting rewarded for it. I can understand why many would have a problem with you.

More people attend games as well. Why do you think college stadiums are bigger than NFL stadiums? There will be people such as myself and many others that will still play after Madden drops. Its been like this since the ps2 online days between casual players who wants to have fun playing normally and some hardcores that that has this mentality of winning at all costs from from using the same plays to finding an exploit and putting a defensive player at a certain spot to guarantee an successful blitz. I ONLY play with friends online cause i know they will not do that shit. The hardcores of college football games have the same mentality of Call of Duty hardcores: Toxicity, superior complexed attitude of " you just suck at the game because _____, " or sayjng its a skill issue. Every online game is someone running the same offensive formation with the same 2 plays just flipping them to the side of the field with more area and defense they run some glitch where their defenders are always coming free. I think online everyone should only be able to use coach suggestions and not be able to make audibles .
Yeah you shouldn’t be able to call the same play on the same drive more than once. That should give a little variety in play calling but everyone just wants to cheese their way to the win.

Exactly, Playing the CPU is mind numbingly boring and easy. I complete at least 90% of my passes every time on the hardest difficulty. Humans are definitely more of a challenge.

I think the thing is that we don't want a classic EA conundrum, which is fix one thing for online players and then it messes something up and the gameplay/ai becomes worse for offline players

As an offline player, I have no issue with online players. Quite frankly, it doesn't matter to me how others play the game. However you enjoy it, I'm happy for you. You game your way, I'll game my way. That said, I have had a theory for a few years that may be a reason for the offline/online beef. It mostly pertains to EA games (although its spread towards other publishers as well), and the beef should be fully against EA but I think could be misdirected towards online players by offline players.
The insane rise in popularity of Ultimate Team completely changed how EA creates games. They stopped caring about trying to create good quality franchise modes and instead spent all their time and focus on Ultimate Team because customers were willing to drop so much extra money on packs just to keep up with the best online play. And offline players have misguidedly taken some of this frustration out towards online players thinking "if you all didn't turn Ultimate Team into such a profitable venture for EA, they might still be focusing on trying to make a decent franchise/career mode in their games."
While CFB 25 is far from perfect and there's still features from the NCAA franchise's past that would make it a much better game (plenty of features from the Road To Heisman modes in the mid-to-late 2000s would make this seem less monotonous), it clearly had more time and love taken into the development of the actual gameplay than anything we've seen from EA in a long time.
Spent the first week or so grinding road to CFP online it was fun and I’ll be playing more. Now I’m playing road to glory and I’m equally if not more engaged in the game. Both are fun to me.
All you have to do is get rid of the abilities and the game would be 100x better abilities has ruining this game gameplay
The biggest difference between online and offline plays when it comes to these glitched plays is offline you can choose to not run them and the cpu doesn't run them but online 4/5 games are kids that all they do is run the glitched plays and it makes every game the exact same
My biggest disappointment is all they are releasing are current Madden players, its like they didnt get any rights for big college stars, like an Archie Griffin
They literally said more college athletes will be added to CUT when the season starts. They've already added a few season 1 college athletes as well as conference stories college athletes, do you honestly expect many to get an upgrade before they play a game? Common sense isn't so common.

Gut, this isn't against you personally or any online guy this is just coming from my person feelings on the situation, and I'm open to a conversation.
Generally it seems like the majority(not all) of content creators are focused on online play. Either playing normal online or in ultimate team. While there are a lot of issues i have with the game and some i wish to be fixed it feels like unless content creators bring these problems to the attention that a group of a player base can be overshadowed becsuse they arent the main sorce of income.
This isnt specifically a college football problem this is every ea sports game. "Pros" and other influential will push for changes to how ganeplay is affected. EAFC in particular had this happen several times this year to the point the game us absolutely horrible and it has created the worst gameplay in years in my opinion. To me this is where the problem starts (even though i understand it from a companies perspective), the games modes that generate money may have 5 patches by the time a single offline patch drops. And by the time that it drops the playerbase may be exhaustee with hiw game breaking or immersion breaking those issues where.
Lastly i think a lot of people see streamers or anyone who puts noney into an UT in a really really bad light. I know I do, i want the best sports game but if the community spends 500 million a year on points or the equivalent then they have a free safety net to never get better. I think a lot of people assume the online community are the people putting money into the game which isnt fair but i sympathize with the negative feelings they likely have against UT. Madden, EAFC, NHL, have not brought foward any chnages in a meaningful way to the offline player base in years. The only thing that was major that changes was the difference between a normal player, a star play and the x-factor. Personally I hate that entire system but what I'm getting at is the biggest chabge was something that was already developed for the online player base.
Im sure i misspelled quite a bit and my grammar was likely horroble but these are my quick thoughts. You have a good one and I do hope the game gets the fixes it needs, i just hope the ogfline playerbase doesnt get left behind again.

Madden was the worst game I’ve ever played last year lol college football is a close 2nd.. to think that either of these two games would be a precursor in getting me to buy the newest EA game next month is HILARIOUS . I haven’t spent a dime on ultimate team in 2 years and it’s been marvelous.. it’s sad that I can’t compete anymore online but at least I’m not wasting 1000 dollars to not be able to play the game in a year lol

I havent played CFB 25 but I think offline players in general see anything put into online as taking something away from the offline experience. Which there may be something to because offline experiences in modern sports games are awful.
I’m waiting for madden 25 the new hit system and Steelers roster is the only reason why I’m playing it this year. The glitches and animations from EA haven’t changed in over a decade.
Haven’t touched online gameplay once or even opened UT, will be the same with Madden

I want excitement of pack opening to go with offline stress free football
1. I will use 8 teams during year in ncaa UT
2. First month will build up enough coins so can build decent roster
3. Ex. Will use notre dame first. Once have all players from notre dame on roster i begin
4. Play squad battle games on 2nd hardest level for 4 weeks
5. Upgrade players when can etc
6. Log my own scores.
7. When month over,sell all players, start team 2.
Ex oregon.
8.when done top 2 records vs squad battles i will put in ncaa title game

But think of it this way,you are playing and enjoying ultimate team, but marrying it with offline
Also fifa ,madden,ncaa football only have exact legends in ut. Created are just not the same imo.
So yeah if you love packs,building rosters,use this method.
Also a hybrid of it could be do same thing only play online, but think of it as notre dame vs them ,not you and will be less stressful.
at the end of the day it’s a video game everyone just enjoy the game before they ruin it. college football sees a lot a high scoring games in real life just get better. also more than half the players won’t make the nfl so i could understand the missed tackles

A guy winning the Madden championship with a punter as QB is all you need to know for why some people don't think it's legitimately a good barometer for how good you are at the game. Offline you can set some house rules about how often you can use a play, online you might start it trying to buy if the other guy is spamming 2 plays your going to start going to it because you don't want to lose by 75

I havent bought CFB 25 yet, ive been thinking about it, but i also feel like its just a clone of Madden 24, with either better offense or weaker defense from what ive seen with a lot of reviews. I dont like where MUT/CUT are headed with micro transactions. Plus ive watched tons of pack openings and havent seen anyone pull one TTU player.

I like offline because my opponent doesn't spam the same glitchy blitz that sacks my QB before my WR can cut on his 10 yard in route.
I think both are fun. Building up a shit team in dynasty and getting glory in a 5 seasons and finding funny ass recruit names is great.
But as a college fan...punishing someone with my favotite two teams brings pride and passion.

No way should you get anywhere close to the same rewards as people winning h2h because it's simply harder to play a human than to go against the AI. Humans can correct for mistakes where AI can't.

Cfb was always a bandaid so ea could make more money throughout the summer. Once madden drops the online use will completely die down and only the offline components will be played. The millions of dollars spent on packs will be useless as ppl won’t even play cut anymore

How to say this is your 1st ever college football game without saying. Never has been the case. Might come as a surprise to you but college football is more popular than the NFL. More people attend games as well. Why do you think college stadiums are bigger than NFL stadiums? There will be people such as myself and many others that will still play after Madden drops. BTW, back in the day NCAA football games were always better than the madden releasing the same year.

Its been like this since the ps2 online days between casual players who wants to have fun playing normally and some hardcores that that has this mentality of winning at all costs from from using the same plays to finding an exploit and putting a defensive player at a certain spot to guarantee an successful blitz.

Every online game is someone running the same offensive formation with the same 2 plays just flipping them to the side of the field with more area and defense they run some glitch where their defenders are always coming free. I think online everyone should only be able to use coach suggestions and not be able to make audibles .

In football games , loser nerds get on RUclips and look up man beaters and unstoppable routes and will do the same thing over and over. That takes zero skill.
