I miss inspector Mallory! So nerdy and funny! How did season 8 episode 10 not make number 1 ?! The Tower of Lost Souls was by far the best episode when all 3 inspectors were back! It has the highest fan rating of 8.8! I love Father Brown! I've watched it over and over and never get tired of it!

This is an enjoyable show, and I am still watching it. But it does have some believability problems. Most noticeably, Inspector Sullivan is so utterly and totally incompetent that no police force would ever keep him on as an officer, even to direct traffic, let alone to serve as a Detective Inspector. I can see making the amateur 'sleuth' manage things that the police cannot as a standard part of such fictions. But police forces do not promote to the rank of Inspector officers who never, ever get a single thing even remotely right.
