    So now that I have this plasma cutter I should be able to perform jobs quicker and more efficient than with acetylene! So I hope you all like this video of unboxing the plasma cutter and hooking it up in the next video I will be showing some cutting with it and after that I will show the accessories I bought for it and do a review of each of them

      I just bought acetylene, oxygen and a plasma cutter. I decided I really needed the gas for when I couldn't plug in. I bought a plasma that would run on 110v for thin metal and plan to use a small bottle of CO2 with a 110v MIG since it makes it so much more powerful and is a little cheaper than C25. Ideally, the small MIG would have an inductance control so you could make it virtually splatter free. Jody Collier recommends this setup for portable MIG without a 220v connection. He carries paintball cylinders which are refillable at Dick's Sporting Goods, but they sell adapters so you can refill yourself.

      That’s awesome! Sounds like you are getting quite the setup going!

      It’s holding up great! I have another video showing cutting with it and a third showing a follow up after 1 1/2 years of use and abuse

    Since they don’t supply the hose what size did you use to go between the barbed sitting and the regulator dryer? Thanks!

      I used I believe it was 5/16 air line I cut it from a old air hose I had around the shop so I’m not sure the exact size

    I would like to see a homemade air dryer project. I've been looking at old computer desktop cases as a shell.

      Hmm I have a idea there is s silica desiccant that can be put inside pvc filter tube or something to make a air drying chamber

      Yup we use them at my shop for bed liner chemical airlines because that has to stay at as low of humidity level as possible

    I got mine wired up and running. No time to test it out yet. Pretty sure I will need another air compressor. I have a pan cake nail gun type

    • @adamswelding5052
      @adamswelding5052  5 лет назад +1

      You can use a pancake compressor, for short cuts! As long as it profuces 60 psi, and 30 cubic foot a minute and most air compressors can produce that during run time while refilling it

      So you can always try it it might work for you if it doesn’t it should only burn out consumables faster but shouldn’t damage anything

      @@adamswelding5052 That is what I will do Adam. So I have a welder. Been practicing stick. Have a 9000 watt generator with a 240 converter adapter. Now a plasma cutter. I operate another small business. Thinking about blending in welding with it. Just have to get good enough at it. I dont have a gas tank yet to run the mig and tig. I love the challenge with stick

    Blue and brown both power on 240

      Yes with the brown going to the wider blade prong and the blue going to the narrower one, the green/yellow goes to the ground

    Is this the only low budget plasma there is?

    • @adamswelding5052
      @adamswelding5052  5 лет назад +1

      No there are others but in all reality all the cut 50 plasma cutters are the same internally but the build quality can vary this is one of the better build quality machines.

      That being said the Hf start ones are more reliable than the pilot arc ones from what I have seen

    your adapter, is this for your home? or what you think you will run into outside your home? if planning to carry it to job sites? or powering with a generator? I have seen over a dozen different styles of 220 outlets, but there is 4-5 more common than others

    • @adamswelding5052
      @adamswelding5052  5 лет назад

      3 prong and 4 prong is commonly used for dryer plugs and typically used in some garages to power tools. We have several 3 prong plugs at our shop and my Lincoln ranger has the 4 prong style but I already had a different style that goes from 3 prong to 4 prong(not sure on the name but it’s the round style smaller generators use) but yes will be using on job sites when I get a gas powered air compressor

    • @randymack1782
      @randymack1782 5 лет назад +1

      gas powered compressor? I would almost try to carry an electric if I could, depending on requirements, I do have a gas one, but it is HEAVY! but it was what was used on service truck to repair 18 wheelers, it has 1000 amps of cranking power, electric generator, & a 23cfm air compressor made by GOODALL. of course my Lincoln Ranger 9 has a 220 outlet, but I never got adapter for it, finally had a little time to even work on it last week to get it back in shape, I work too much, or it has rained when I had time, & it has sat since 2012.

    • @adamswelding5052
      @adamswelding5052  5 лет назад

      Yea there are a few I’ve looked at but could build a gas powered air compressor cheaper than buy one! Have a older electric air compressor that is run by a 3 horsepower electric motor and I can easily pull the pull off of it and the air pump and find a ratio that will make a small 212 predator motor work in its place

    • @randymack1782

      well if you do a home built gas compressor, put an unloader valve in it!!!! so it cant cause an over pressure issue & blow up. the unloader just allows all air being made to vent to atmosphere, once tank pressure is met, & it will close and open as necessary to maintain tank at correct pressure.

    • @adamswelding5052
      @adamswelding5052  5 лет назад

      Already has on of those valves in it this is a old machine older than I am it runs constantly from the second it’s plugged in don’t know might be someone else’s homemade project
