    hi keerthana,i am studying in cbse class 12 in India, I got 97.5 in 10th cbse board exam and am predicting 97% in 12th as well,however I don't have any national level achievements, I only have a few non academic achievements will that still be good enough to get in?

    • @keerthanare
      @keerthanare  Год назад +2

      hello! i can't answer your question directly because i genuinely don't know what's "good enough" to get in but it would definitely help to have achievements that are non-academic. whilst it would be an advantage to be a national level achievement, it does not mean that you're application is automatically disadvantaged. my advice would be to still apply and wait for the outcome :) good luck!!

I have 7A*s and 1A in my O levels and 3As in my AS (best possible grades for AS) plus I have an 8.0 in my IELTS and a 1500 in my SAT. Hello
    I want to know about the Graduate Certificate courses offered by NUS ( for different subjects of Civil Engineering). Since you study there so you might be able to elaborate that more clearly.
    What is the relevance of that course in terms of job opportunities in Singapore?

    • @keerthanare
      @keerthanare  Год назад

      i'm still an undergrad, so i dont think i'm the best person to answer this question! however, i understand that generally, people tend to take up such courses to increase their own learning and by extension, the job opportunities available to them. these certificates are also stackable (ie you can take multiple) for them to qualify as a higher qualification, which might open up even more opportunities. i dont know much about them per se so i'd recommend emailing into the office/ finding someone who has done these courses specifically !!

    • @keerthanare
      @keerthanare  Год назад +3

      hi jason!! i didn't take too long on my nus essay - i think it took me less than a day! but but its completely normal to spend longer - i had friends who spent weeks, and months even perfecting their essay! if i'm not wrong, the topics of the NUS admission questions do change over the years! however, they're moving towards short-answer questions which would be much easier to tackle :) i'll be doing another video going through the applications earlier next year as well, and you can access the questions whenever the applications open to start planning your essay! hope this helps :)

      hello! there's no fixed mark that is a requirement but for international kids, most of my friends say that their scores are at the very least above 85%, usually above 90%!

      hi! congratulations on your grades :) like i mentioned in previous comments, there's no way i can tell you what the chances are that you'll get in or won't get in - whilst your grades are pretty good, the universities look at more than just your grades! your extra-curricular activities, other skills and accomplishments etc. still, just apply & see how what the outcome is! all the best :))

      @@keerthanareyou're so sweet, thank you! I've had swimming and tennis records since I was in grade 6 and I've also appeared for grade 1 and 3 of violin and passed with a distinction in each. Considering these and my 97%, do I have a possibility of getting in?

    • @keerthanare
      @keerthanare  Год назад

      @@dwbwdbfwbfe that's amazing! i think you definitely have a possibility of getting in (everyone does btw) but your portfolio definitely seems to better your chances. still, the decision is entirely made by the admissions team and would be affected not only by your own portfolio but also by how you compare to your peers applying! nonetheless, i do believe you stand a good chance at getting in but no promises :" all the best!

  • @avvcccc12
    @avvcccc12 Год назад +1

    Hi Keerthana, I am currently a high school student in his 12th in CBSE India. I just wanted to know a few things as I want to get into the same course as you that is business in NUS.
    1)I have achieved a 95% in my 10th boards and I am predicting around a 98 to 100 in my 12th boards is that enough because I have heard people say you need as much as 99 to even stand a chance as an international applicant.
    2)I don't really have much on the extracurricular side although I have managed to clear 9 papers of the UK's Chartered accountancy qualification and I have achieved an Advanced Diploma in Accounting and Business(which is equivalent to a bachelor's degree in short) is that enough to stand out from the crowd?
    3)I also have a keen interest in researching AI tools and how I can use that in the accounting and business sense and have done countless courses on monte carlo simulations, can I list that an extra curricular?
    Anyways thanks a lot It was a great video!

    • @keerthanare
      @keerthanare  Год назад

      hi rohit!
      1) 95 isn't too bad of a grade but you're right to say that most international students score higher than that :)) still, i think you should apply because there's truly no harm and if other areas of your application are good enough, you will be accepted!
      2) whilst clearing the papers are great, they are also looking at your involvement into other non-academic areas (sports, music, arts etc)
      3) i think you can list the courses as an extra-curricular but developing a strong non-academic area to your portfolio would be recommended !!
