I would agree with the office space idea! When editing at home I always find myself getting distracted by things so I completely agree that leaving the house is helpful :-) are you allowed to paint or design your own walls? If not what do the walls look like? Very excited about seeing an office in these videos!
Yes. I think the back of the building design should be where, the creative room should be (the place where the sofa, cameras, go). And then the front of the building design can be like the where the meeting rooms are and the restrooms.
As someone who's last job was very flexible on working at home, I definitely feel working at an office is more productive and it's nice to feel a separation of work life and home life, however it is good to be able to work at home when it's convenient, having a workspace outside the home is probably beneficial I would set up both but focus on the outside place. And don't go OTT the simple the better 😊
For me personally, working from home isn't okay just because I do not get to socialise half as much as I used to and also when I'm supposed to be doing work I always get distracted by social media etc. I get a lot more done when I'm not at home😊.
parissr 98 I felt like that a lot when I started working from home! I ended up driving for Uber a couple times a week to get in some extra social time (I don’t have the option of working in an office).
I prefer working from home because I hate going into an office, but I do find it can become rather lonely. I do agree though that sometimes working from home you don't really know when to stop. I try to give myself regular working hours so I actually stop working at a certain time.
I think you should have a place for meetings, business, music and editing..but still do your videos at home. I think the “charm” of RUclips is being able to watch you in your daily life and feel so close to you guys. I cannot imagine your videos not being filmed in Byron’s bedroom 😭 I totally understand your point of view and that is draining to “work” from home... buuuuut do you know what I mean, or am I making no sense at all? 😂
First of all, hi Noa! Welcome back!!!!!!!!!! Second of all, JOE, I think she's right. Your best videos are the ones at home. You can make your music room a "byron bedroom" and film there
In your office you should definitely put up some art work. I feel that would show your personality to the fullest. You should put in some cool colourful chairs or even a hanging chair of some sort! I feel like if you made it cool and your style it would be the best place to let your imagination go wild. xx Also just had a new idea. Make one wall a whole green screen that would be so cool! xx
I really hope this office works out for you Joe!! it sounds wonderful and the logic about leaving your lounge space to your work space was 100 percent on point. GOOD LUCK! ❤️👍🏽
Was anybody thinking about Mr.Kate coming in to his office ( if he gets it ) ( she is a youtuber and has done lots of decorating for big youtubers eg. Lily Singh liza koshi laur diy )
A little while ago my Dad was thinking about working from home and he was taking in all the different aspects of working from home, he works in an office wih his co-workers currently and he finds it easier to work there, i think if you work in an office you can have more people to share ideas with. Howeverrr, if u work from home u can have more relaxing breaks but u could feel like u could overwork and get stressed because your office is there in ur home whereas if u have an office outside of home then you wont be constantly working, working, working. If it was my choice I would have an office outside of home, I'd just love having a space to work (well study cuz im in school) and i would enjoy designing it ❤️❤️
I think the office space is a brilliant idea, but it would also be cool if you and all the buttercreams had a huge office space where you all create videos and collaborations and the recording studio is also an amazing idea! I really hope this happens
I was in the same position for 2 years when I first started my PR agency. Working from my house was fine to begin with but I reached a point where it wasn’t feasible anymore, plus my productivity was being affected as I kept getting distracted. I then started working from a co-op venue in Sheffield with other creatives which was amazing and now I’m looking for larger premises. It’s helps being able to shut off when you leave the office. Working from home, I felt like I was constantly “on”
I actually was kind of expecting it, I knew he loved them from past vlogs. And I am obsessed with them too, so hearing it was so nice and put a smile on my face!
i dont even work but im in high school and working at school/friends house helps sooo much rather than studying/doing homework at home. it helps being in a different environment to keep myself from getting distracted. I hope this helps your decision (if it hasn’t been made already) btw i LOVE your videos and they always make me laugh and brighten my day!!❤️❤️❤️
I don't work from home but I work down the road from where I live, so that by the time the weekend rolls around all I want to do is go anywhere that isn't my town, just to break up to monotony, so I think office space is a good idea, even if it's just to make you move around more!
Happy 6 year anniversary! I have been watching ur channel for 5 yrs, so close enough, but I just want u to know how greatful I am for how inspiring you have been so I feel like I can just be me! I really hope you see this because I am not lying! You do mean this much to me!! Thank you for making me laugh when I was down, you and your sister have helped me with anxiety. (Even though u don't have it, I don't think 😂) thank you again and can't wait for this weeks video!! Love ya lotssss ❤ -Niamh Xx
I find the idea of an office really cool and I do think you'd be able to do more in the space of a day (due to actually having to get out of bed to get work done, instead of procrastinating and laying around *points finger at herself 👋🏼*). And I think that you're one of the nicest people out there for thinking of all of your friends potentially using it, despite it being something of yours 💖. Thank you for inspiring me during the last 6 years and good luck with the office. Sadly, I won't be sending you any ideas as to what goes where (I lack the skills 🤷🏻♀️), but I hope someone does and if the office comes to be, it will be something you will make use of while enjoying yourself 💖
I’ve worked from home for about 7 years & also have a shared office/creative space that I can work from along with other people on our team. All comes down to setting boundaries and hours that set aside for personal time.
I think you should have an office room if you want to have an office space but the office space sounds good as well you could have a sugg merch room where you have all your merch in and where you could think of more merch ideas then you could call the space ‘ the Suggy space ‘ I thought that would be quiet cool. Love ya joe 💗
Interior design is so much harder than it looks. I met a girl who studied it and it blew my mind the absolute talent she had that I didnt realize WASNT intuitive, but WELL EDUCATED, to make a space *PRACTICAL* and beautiful and stylish and that works with a humans mind and it changed my life forever about how i see my interiors now. I hope someone very talented gives you a helping hand!
I'm a filmmaker and I used to work from home, and it's definitely convenient, but I found it really difficult separating home life from work life, it's easy to get to distracted by stuff. As soon as I moved into an office I noticed I was a lot more productive and inspired. It's definitely worth it!
Obviously your job isn’t the average 9-5 where you can go to work, come home and then relax. But I think if you enjoy working from home and are able to switch off your working mindset and enjoy your home we’ll say “off the clock” then I don’t see how it could be a bad thing. But if you’re struggling to separate the two within your home then I’d say renting an office would beneficial if you’ll be more productive. A few years ago I found that to be the situation, I could separate home life from work, if I worked away from home better, I also got more done👌🏻😊
In my experience, having that separate place to go that is strictly a work space always helps with productivity. I think there's a few possibilities: either renovate an area of your flat to be a strictly work office space, or rent an office space. I'd suggest the latter. Overall I think it's important to be able to separate work and home, because like you said it does blend together after some time, and that can affect both sides of your life.
Well some of my family work at home. It’s great because i/ we don’t have to travel much. However it’s hard to relax in the area that you work, it’s haarder to stop working in your workspace. You could build an outside office or have 1 room in your house.
I would agree that investing in an office space is good. It makes you mentally ‘healthier’ as when you are at home, you can properly relax and destress and stop thinking of work 😄
i do agree with you with the office situation. i think it’d be a good idea for you to have an office so you can seperate work and home life a bit more whilst also evolving as a creator. It’d allow you have more productivity and then once you leave, that’s work done for the day. I think you could create a really cool new set up whilst keeping some of the pieces you currently use in part of your set up ( the lights in the background or something or same colour scheme ) I would love to see this so so much
I agree that you need your own space but i also agree that within your own home i feel like i personally get more distracted as there is more things in my house that put me off of me doing my work where as if i go to my “office” in work i get more done as there isn’t anything that is a distraction 🙂🙂
Having a creative space/studio to work is something I think is really important to separate work/home life... but also to work in a space where others work too so ideas get thrown around and to get constant feedback on what your working on. Would definitely recommend a creative office or studio space!
I’ve worked from home for a good year and it was a struggle. Like what you said, it’s a bit better to be waking up and go to work. Work gets done surely in an office space moreover if you’re ar home
Woow sounds great. Maybe finally you can release your song....😂😂😂 The whole idea of having an office sounds great. Hope it happens good luck with all of that Joe. Its cool to see that you want to be more productive as well.👏👏👏 Dont think twice and just do it👍....with nike😂😂😂jokes
Hi Joey! Couldn't agree more on the separate working and living spaces. I'm going into my 3rd year at uni now and have struggled a lot with studying. I have only this year started to actually study in the uni library (which is what it's for idk what i've been doing before lol). SO MUCH BETTER! Also makes you feel way more productive and happier. Like you said when i come to my dorm now i can actually chill and not constantly be in that 'i should be doing something' mood. So yes great idea on the office space, hope it works out for ya!
Having a space outside your home is definitely a good idea, personally I think is healthy to separate environments, at home is so easy to get distracted or tempted to do other things, plus for me getting out of the house is so motivational, fresh, you get dress and ready and attract so much energy to yourself, you feel like you've accomplished something already. In terms of spatial organization, well I'm not a designer but I was thinking levels within the office to separate all the different stuff going on. Good luck and looking forward to your chatty video this week, my favorite type.
Yes it is defiantly harder to work from home. 👍🏻 so many people always think that it’s easier to work from home because you can sit in your pjs, or chill out etc and it’s not true. 😶 you can’t draw a line, it’s always there and also to get up and dressed and drive/get transport to work is so much better personally for me. It’s like a get up and go thing. 🙂 its all mental, joe, good luck Xx
Omg! The songs you listen to! I listened to the exact same ones when I was 16 and the all american rejects was my first concert ever!! :D So good memories!! Thanks :D! xx
I’m a childminder so I work from my house. During the holidays, if we don’t go out for the day I go a little stir crazy. I use a playroom, so absolutely love shutting the door to it at the end of the day and being adult centred for the evening. I don’t think I could do it if it took up my whole home and I never went anywhere else. Everyone needs some work free space. Though not worrying about traffic is one of the best things ever x
I have an outside studio space so that I can seperate Business from home life. It's really important for your mental health and motivation. Sending my love x
Happy 6 Years on RUclips Joe! 🙌🎉 I think it's such a good idea for you to have your own office, it would be so good for your physically and mental wellbeing to get out of your house to work somewhere else & not constantly be at home it would be good for you. Xx
I appreciate the switch between office and working at home. I have more discipline working at the office, as you actually go to work and do that for 8hours. But sometimes you can be a lot more productive at home, when there aren't any colleagues to constantly ask you questions. Big tasks that I have to finish, I can do from home. If I have a day with just doing random tasks/answering e-mails/creative thinking, then at the office is better. At the office, I can be a lot more social and creative as you have colleagues to bounce ideas of off (??). In the Netherlands we have a lot of flexworking spaces, with creative freelancers collaborating. I'm sure London should have these! That way you can go to an office whenever you want, and meet like minded people, without having to pay for office space that you don't use half the time.
Ooooh omg, I'm an aspiring graphic/interior designer and am definitely gonna give this a shot (I'm the one who tweeted ya about my shipping container batch that I designed haha) Can't wait to start designing this office!!!
I’m not self employed, but I do work from home, and I have a volunteer job that I spend about 20 hours a week on. I have an office in my house that I only use for work. I do my volunteer work at a coffee shop, specifically so it’s not in the same spot. Before you sign a lease on a space, have you tried one of the places where you can rent an office for a week? Just to get an idea of whether you feel more productive in a space other than your home. I have a schedule, I get up at the same time every day no matter when my first meetings are, and I have a routine that helps me be more productive. Hope some of that helps!
I enjoy working from home but I did work longer hours. I now hotdesk in an office and I do enjoy it. The thing that gripes me is how much of my time I waste commuting to and from.
I think an office space is really needed, when your surrounded by your own things you have more of an opportunity to leave what your working on and get sidetracked. Home should be home 🌺
I think it’s great to be surrounded by creative and hardworking people because it puts you in a similar mindset🙃I think it’s also good to get out of the house work around a place that isn’t your home
There is such thing as a common office space where people who work remotely can pay a monthly fee to work in a creative office space with other people. I’m sure there’s loads in London. You could also look into those as well
it has pros and cons working at home is comfortable and i feel like i can focus better instead of being a bit self-conscious but changing things up once in a while is also really nice i guess keeping a good balance of both for me is pretty ideal.
I'm a freelance automotive journalist and couldn't agree more on the idea of having a dedicated space to work. It's ok to have a room only for work at home, but nothing beats having a separate office. It helps you having a real sleeping pattern because you have to get up earlier to be there on time, it helps you socialize if other people are working at the same office than you and more importantly, when you're home it means your day is over. You're free to do whatever you want. Yes, there are some days where you'll stay in your pyjamas and work like a maniac from your couch just because you have to get that shit done. But knowing that the next day you will be able to separate home and work is just an incredible feeling. Working only from home gets really tiring and puts you in a permanent stress. Get that space, and bring your friends and colleagues there! Your creativity will thank you :)
You can also display your artworks in your office, Joe! To make it a bit more like your home since you also put up on your walls some of your works but in a different location (office) yet can still feel “home-y”, if that makes sense.
I work from home and it's a struggle at times. Quite anti-social tbh and its not so healthy having my bedroom as my office. Gets quite difficult to separate work from my own time but having an office space to work in would make a huge difference to that and would prob increase productivity so go for it if you can mate, its a good idea.
Happy 6 years on RUclips joe!! I love your videos so much and thankyou for continuing to inspire me! :)

I think he's right to switch up his filming space because it feels right for him, he can still vlog at home :)
In your office you should definitely put up some art work. I feel that would show your personality to the fullest. You should put in some cool colourful chairs or even a hanging chair of some sort! I feel like if you made it cool and your style it would be the best place to let your imagination go wild. xx
Also just had a new idea. Make one wall a whole green screen that would be so cool!

Happy 6 Years on RUclips Joe! 🙌🎉 I think it's such a good idea for you to have your own office, it would be so good for your physically and mental wellbeing to get out of your house to work somewhere else & not constantly be at home it would be good for you. Xx
Love you!!
Happy 6 years! Working from home is great, getting out is better! Thanks for sharing your life with us.
Yayyyyyy joe likes panic!
That way you can go to an office whenever you want, and meet like minded people, without having to pay for office space that you don't use half the time.
aw joe, are you a lil p!atd fan? how cute
Ooooh omg, I'm an aspiring graphic/interior designer and am definitely gonna give this a shot (I'm the one who tweeted ya about my shipping container batch that I designed haha) Can't wait to start designing this office!!!
the title is me trying to grow my channel 😭😂
I’m not self employed, but I do work from home, and I have a volunteer job that I spend about 20 hours a week on. I have an office in my house that I only use for work. I do my volunteer work at a coffee shop, specifically so it’s not in the same spot. Before you sign a lease on a space, have you tried one of the places where you can rent an office for a week? Just to get an idea of whether you feel more productive in a space other than your home. I have a schedule, I get up at the same time every day no matter when my first meetings are, and I have a routine that helps me be more productive. Hope some of that helps!
HI JOE!! CONGRATS ON 6 YEARS OF RUclips!!
I enjoy working from home but I did work longer hours. I now hotdesk in an office and I do enjoy it. The thing that gripes me is how much of my time I waste commuting to and from.
Love your vids Joe 💙💜
I think an office space is really needed, when your surrounded by your own things you have more of an opportunity to leave what your working on and get sidetracked. Home should be home 🌺
Look up mr.kate’s channel
I think it’s great to be surrounded by creative and hardworking people because it puts you in a similar mindset🙃I think it’s also good to get out of the house work around a place that isn’t your home
Hi Joe whasssssupppp bro 😎 😊
There is such thing as a common office space where people who work remotely can pay a monthly fee to work in a creative office space with other people. I’m sure there’s loads in London. You could also look into those as well
Panic 😘❤️🖤💕💙💜💜😍😍😂
it has pros and cons working at home is comfortable and i feel like i can focus better instead of being a bit self-conscious but changing things up once in a while is also really nice i guess keeping a good balance of both for me is pretty ideal.
ly joe xxxxxxx
Babe babe babeeee 😍
You can also display your artworks in your office, Joe! To make it a bit more like your home since you also put up on your walls some of your works but in a different location (office) yet can still feel “home-y”, if that makes sense.
Please shout me out. I love you so much. 💖
I work from home and it's a struggle at times. Quite anti-social tbh and its not so healthy having my bedroom as my office. Gets quite difficult to separate work from my own time but having an office space to work in would make a huge difference to that and would prob increase productivity so go for it if you can mate, its a good idea.
