That track incredibly suited the AS-OceanFloor and DM-Oblivion maps. 00:00 - 01:48 : The song just fits the environment perfectly because it catches that atmosphere where you feel so small in a very extreme environment with the use of sonar sounds with no answer to the calls made, and the fact that 90% of the song is just beats in that part which catches also the *cold* and *void/empty* aspect of the area in which you are. And this suits to being alone in a spaceship at lightspeed or at few meters from the ocean floor because in both situations, you're in a cold and cruel environment. 01:48 - 02:20 : The song just progressively reminds you that you're accomplishing something big despite being in these crazy conditions by adding the little periodic beep melody which sounds inspiring to me and giving some sort of determination as if it was some answer to your sonar emissions but the signal is still weak, it s only a short 6 notes melody. You lose that signal again at 02:11 and try to get it back. 02:22 - 02:48 : No more sonar sounds, you're communicating but you're not done yet ! You can still hear the hard drums from the beginning (00:00 - 01:48) of the track telling you that you're still in an extreme environment ! 02:48 - End : The beeping melody is now complete, you hear it fully, that's a sign of hope ! You're getting closer to your objective ! You're gonna make it ! It almost sounds like a discussion with several persons when you hear the introduction of that instrument at 3:44 It's just perfect... like all the other tracks of this masterpiece game.
This is amazing. After almost 20 years since I've first played this game, I've stumbled upon its soundtrack by accident a year ago. I'vr been listening to it for months at work and at home. On repeat this son and Foregone Destruction (the music of the map with the two towers on an asteroid). This is a gem of a game. It's just a game. You play it as much as you wish. It has no psychological trickery alluring you to play it (achievements, grind, time-limited energy, purchasable content..). I was lie, the last generations which came prior to the games being cancer with their toxic treatment of the player becoming standard..
This track is as cold as ice
I feel what you mean. I feel the same, check my comment in that comment section. It’s probably one of the only songs i did write a breakdown of
Greatest techno song ever for a game. I still play this game on pc til this day!!!

@@007kingifrit Dude, it really isn't the same game. Unreal Tournament [this game] came out in 1999, while Minecraft first came out in 2009.
@@colelarson4443 oh so its a mod for minecraft that came out a little before hand while it was still in beta. same game just a mod lol
