I'm going in 2024 was checking to see how the camping is. Thanks for the video.
Great video! Thanks for featuring us! The opportunity to play at such a great festival was huge for us!
I will keep saying this over and over! Amazing videos!
Thank you so much!
Always look forward to these vlogs. Your camp is luxury compared to the crap I used to throw together at Reading/Leeds festival... Waking up on the floor with a rock for a pillow!
Ha! It's somewhat glamping, but made easier bc we could pack everything into the van. e had a pretty big space to spread out in as well. If I had to lug everything, it would be a small 2 person tent with a sleeping bag.
You have made our Monday enjoyable
Thank you!
Wow. Can't wait for the rest!
We have about 4-5 more Rockville videos to edit and post.
Can’t wait to see your videos from the weekend! Always enjoy them! I almost went! From up in Canada on the east coast! Maybe next year!
We met people that flew in from Canada and the UK. It’s become a big destination show.
@@ViewFromTheCheapSeats I flew from Colombia! Its for sure a big show
Excellent video...can't wait for the rest of the days!
Thank you! The other vids will trickle in as I have time to edit and post.
Great video. Can't wait to see the other Rockville videoes.
Thank you!
Yes!!!! I was waiting all weekend to see how this went for you guys!
Yes! We should have 4-5 more videos from the weekend to edit and upload.
@@ViewFromTheCheapSeats excellent! I'll wait with bated breath!
Awesome video! Am looking forward to the rest of the Rockville videos. :)
Thank you! More to come!
My type of vlog! Man i havnt been to a big rock fest since Riot Fest in my hometown Chicago! Awesome seeing The Word Alive and Conquer Divide there. Seen them gurls rock out hard many times🤟
Duuude!! that's awesome to be there man with you guys...hey your video editing is like Edgar Wright ""fans, chair, sunglasses, ice, painkiller" hahaha love it...and the rain always on time XD...man great performance right there...can't wait for the next day video
Thank you!
@@ViewFromTheCheapSeats thanks to you man
This cool thanks!
Thank you!
Greetings! I recently found your channel, it's awesome! I have been binging on a ton of your older videos. I'm a huge fan of Metal, Horror, Comics, Star Wars...and I'm thinking "These folks are pretty cool!"
I really like that you guys do so much as a family, excellent! Keep up the great work 😎
Thank you very much!! Welcome to the channel!
@@ViewFromTheCheapSeats Cheers!!
$15 for ice is criminal, good lord
The ice pricing is insane with the track charging $15 for 20 lbs of ice at their camp store. That said, the gas station across the street sells ice $4 for 7 lbs, which is almost as bad.
Gas station lucky campers don't group up and carry away the whole cooler, fridge unit, ice included! At least give a 10# bag!
If only a guy close to the cause could provide a deversion..like a wall of people grabbing them fireman brigade style..if the bands do it it's advertising 😅!
Really looking forward to this series! As always! I was there Thursday + Friday. Awesome fest, per usual!
Thank you!
I would like to thank you I wanted to run in to you guys and buy you a beer!! Thanks to your video on tips I was mega ready for my first rockville we traveled from Puerto Rico and being ready was must so thank you for what you do from all of us ✊
Thank you for watching!! I hope you had a great trip!
🤘🤘Cool video! Following
Thank you!
23:41 yo that was my vw parked right there! Awesome time man. Fuckin SLAYER!!!
How do you like the Air mattress? I'm debating if I should get an air mattress or a cot.
The air mattress worked out great. We’ve used one for a while when we camp. Ironically, I’ve always wondered how a cot would be.
How would you get camping wrist bands if you dont have a car walk up
How did the signings work
At the Revolver tent, you pay for a poster and then line up to have the bands sign them. I think the posters ran about $40, but we didn't do any of the meet and greets.
@@ViewFromTheCheapSeats ok thanks cause I know it was different than last year
Damn I wish I ran into y’all been following for awhile!! Will you be at LTL or bourbon and beyond 🎉
I think this may have been our only festival for the year. We have a bunch of other standalone shows coming up.
Where did you get the inflatable mattress? Looking for blue ridge rock fest
Awesome video the Daytona Rockville vlogs are my favorite. And I'm not sure when hatebreed last played before they played Daytona but I seen them October 16th in Knoxville Tennessee. At a venue once called the International. That my friends friends once owned before changed over to a winery.
You guys have the Ultra Pimp Camping Set Up!!!
Appreciate your attention to details. You address issues/questions that I usually have. I've been to a lot of concerts. I should probably do a video about how much they've changed over the years especially the big outdoor venue/stadium experience. My very first concert was the Eagles at Cincinnati Riverfront Stadium. Yes, it was years ago. I think '77/'78. The overall experience is very different from then especially the cost. VIP used to be given. Yes, just like in Rock Star. Now, anyone can buy the "experience". Well, except a back stage pass. It's now about who can afford the most. It's no longer about the fan that doesn't have the big bucks. I know you understand. Nothing against you personally.
Just read an article that Michael Sweet wrote about the cost of touring. He said venues want more & more of the band's part. I believe that. I highly suggest a video I just watched about the cost of touring. This channel broke it down by bus, driver, fuel, etc. It's crazy money. Looks like the best job to have is to drive the buses. They make great money. Can't remember the channel name. Just wanted to say thanks for taking us a long. I appreciate it. I really do!
We were right next to you during this and didn't even know 😂 Great shows all around at this event!
Oh no! I’m glad you had a good time!
I was under the impression this would be a meeting of REM cover bands as an ode the Athen foursome’s fan favorite ditty “Don’t Go Back to Rockville.”
Shot horizontally😀👍
Sorry if I missed it in a previous post, but what model portable charger are you using?
Portable charger for the phone? It's a cheap no name 30k mah charger from Amazon. Portable power bank for the tent is a Jackery 2000.
what tent do you have? I am looking for a good one for this year
We used a Gazelle T4.
One question me an my cousin are goin to Rockville 24’ an do they charge for parking?
How far are the walks from one main stage to the other? I have a lot of bands i wanna see this year and was curious cuz someone said it’s about a 15 minute walk. I was hoping it would only be like 5 minutes because that’s how long in between the sets are
The walk is at least 15 minutes as the stages are on opposite sides of the grass field (maybe 3/4 of a mile) and there are a TON of people to try to navigate through.
Good stuff, thanks for sharing. It's sad how many bands are relying on computers for backing tracks. Stopping a show, that is just ridiculous.
The use of tracks to replace main instruments or vocals currently is frustrating when I’d rather hear someone play live, for better or worse.
A lot of them do now days. Not only do you have things like a click track that plays to keep everyone in sync but also those are tied to all the automation when it comes to video and lighting. In the metal world what you see a lot is backing audio tracks because some of the albums are like 5 guitar parts layered or you have the machine gun sounding drums... that kind of stuff.
Yikes is that embarrassing
Not sure if you live close to Melbourne but Frank from Hatebreed part owns a record store there. It’s awesome, has some cool records
Very cool! Thank you for the heads up.
Been waiting on this.can’t wait to see the performances
Thank you!
I thought I saw you walking around out there!
We were there! I feel like we started to live there.
Man I miss Balz being in Motionless but very happy to see him have so many successful businesses. Also what air matress did yall use?
I seem to miss it every year!!!
Nice set up, I hope you guys don’t come back to a drunken sailor crashing your tent!! lol
We had locks on tent. ;)
Bud light was cheaper than ice 😂
In fairness, every beer, including their craft beer was cheaper than ice.
@@ViewFromTheCheapSeats this is true lol
@@Utubeisazzho ice is probably higher demand than beer lol, gotta keep your drinks cold somehow
@@benw9621 good point ice is key!
Hey man I saw you while we were all evacuating on the first day. U were wearing like a black and yellow shirt and a hat. And you were walking with someone with a blue shirt.
That was us!
Kyle, great vlog as always. Can't wait to see how the rest of the weekend turned out. Remember when Led Zeppelin stopped their concert because their tracks stopped 😂😂 "metal" bands today are ridiculous.
Ha! This is the comment of the week! lol
Hate to burst some bubbles here, but most metal bands playing today use backing tracks. It's technology and thats just the way it is
It always rains at Rockville... Feast for the Crows was definitely for the birds. Did you get the Rockville Magic shirt?
I sure did.
WTF! you never finished the "Where's my mom" bit. -HeartThrob
$15 bag of ice? Boy I'm in the wrong business.
Dude prices were crazy this year. I paid $17 for a "Polish" sausage the tasted like a $1.50 Costco hotdog.
The ice prices are nuts, but they kind of have you hostage. It's $15 for 20 lbs of ice inside the track camp store or $4 per 7 lb bags of ice across the street at the gas station.
The food and drink prices from the vendors are just insanity.
Awesome vid Kyle. But holy crap music sucks now.
Thank you! There is a pretty wide variety of rock/metal at this annual festival. We usually call it a musical buffet.
No way bro... no private bath/shower....😐
The showers are all separate with locked doors.
support rinus veekey from the netherlands at di indy 500
It’s great to see you, my friend!
Ok Catch Your Breath sounded good but i guess i know why.....backing sound track. I guess a lot of bands do that now but still...........if you cant sing without it then you cant sing......
ngl but camping at this fest looks boring af and miserable
I honestly wish it was more boring bc the parties at night kept us up all night.
