Hey grubby, I am watching all your videos / replays in WC3 since 2005. I have a little hint for you. In dota the sound of skills is very important, eg the ultimate sound of lesh is very simple to distinguish from others :P thank you for entertaining me for decades.
Recognising the game by sounds before you've even seen every hero is quite unrealistic but grubster has the skills to go deep in Dota so this advice might seem trite one day
@@jamrollz no is not, you get it without even knowing. It's a human thing to do so, associate sounds, smells, feelings, to memories. It just comes with time, is not there for Grubby yet, but it will, given enough time.
Leshrac is truly one of my favorite characters in Dota for years. The flexibility of delivering AoE damage is so rewarding when you pull it off. IIRC his Aghanim's Shard used to cause Q to erupt and grow multiple times. If it still does, that item helped me achieve that nice flexibility of dishing out AOE damage to full extent.
At 55:30 the non ult activation initially probably even helped Grubby, since the enemy thought they could outdamage his lifesteal and committed hard on him, only to get out healed after he activated his ult mid fight. Then they were like headless chickens.
As a Zagara main, it makes me really happy to see you enjoy these pushers like Leshrac and Prophet :D And they both have really great aesthetics as well!
Sumail is a big Leshrac player, he always goes with: Split Earth Radius, +100 Lightning Storm Damage, +40 Pulse Nova Damage and Lightning Storm Double jumps. The +100 LS Damage synergizes really well with the 25 Talent.
There was a time when you could hide behind the Dire Team trees next to the tower at level 3 to just sit there with W, and slowly take out the tower cause the special effect wasn’t very visible.
It's good to see his map awareness and team play is improving. I just hope he remember some of what SirActionsSlacks coaching. He baited his team to die most of the time. The next thing I think is how to communicate to his team whether the intention is pushing or ganking.
Most of Lesh's spells have notoriously long cast point (animation). No matter how much you press "R" during those animation, it won't activate, that's why you thought you casted it during fights, but you never did have it up. At least I think that's what's happening. But still, GJ on your first try xD
Chat spamming bkb is really good when they have literally no spell except sven stun and rubick lift.. What you wanted to do here since you play vs a+ click heroes is to get shiva for armor+attack speed slow aura and aghs. This would literally negate 3of them making you unhittable while dealing more damage at the same time. Also about neutral items aquila is really a carry item. its mostly for agility heroes like luna. you had your choice between Psychic Headband: +15% int and +100cast range and Quickening Charm: -10% cd for your spells and items. there is no world where you keep that aquila its one of the best starter to get if you carry doesnt whine to have it but late its useless compared to the t3 items literally all of them have way more impact.

hey grubby, nice watch. just one tip, when you go for the runes, it's very risky to come back to lane by the river, specially vs huskar. he had tunnel vision and was most focused on hitting creeps, but he had two or three chances to kill you while doing that. also, maxing W early was kind of a waste, but you could do better with it. hide in the threes behind mid tower, unleash W

I've not played dota in years. After I finish the stint I have in my current game I think I will return. Lesh was one of my favorites too. You will be coming up on another of my favorites soon in Medusa. Though, everything seems a lot different than when I played back in warcraft 3.
the Ult has a distinct sound from W, so maybe listen to the rythm and sound difference of the 2 skills to tell if they're on or not, so you can focus on other things with your eyes.
I believe Natures Prophet hasn't changed, Earth Shaker also.. Actually there would be quite a list of unchanged heroes, Lycan, Undying, Mirana, Enigma and some more
I think the lightning changed, back then it was only for damage dealing, now it has a slow but the burst damage is reduced. Even so, still the same spell but with a slow now.
@@Stforv huh, i remembered this trivia from a while ago but either the trivia was wrong or i misunderstood it. because earth shaker, mirana and enigma indeed have no recorded significant change to their skillset. the rest of the heroes you named do.
Ooof, this was a tough laning phase to watch. If you're going to use aoe spells to last hit, try to hit your opponent as well. You want to be super efficient with your mana. Also, you don't want your opponent healthy, especially after you've used your only cc spell. A good Huskar would've punished you after everytime you used your Q on minions instead of him. Probably a lot to think of when you're still learning, but keep it in the back of your mind.
As a divine player you’re great at this game for someone who just started playing. I’m intrigued and surprised 🎉. The mistake I see is item buying speed which is common for new players.
Lesh is so strong late game that most pro teams run him in position 1 instead of going mid. He is quite item dependent but can also play as support if paired with someone with guaranteed stun
Can't wait till he gets to some of my favorite heroes, Rubick, Wraith King, and Undying. Unfortunately my favorites are all late in the alphabet so I'll be waiting for a while.

Never played dota 2, but it reminds me of -easy mode in the original game because of how much gold and items you get. It's a bit too much, at least it got Leshrac!
Antimage does not counter Lesh at all. In fact Lesharac pos 1 or 2 counters Antimage hard by ending the game before AM can do anything. Lesh is hard countered by heroes like Lina and Drow that can kill him easily but he have troubles getting close to them and ofc by Pugna and Oracle.
He is countered by AM if his team isn’t stupid. His abilities do little damage against him and AM destroys his mana and burst with ult. If you have a team that can defend towers (am isn’t good with a team that can’t defend towers) then u counter
@@chickenwarrior3067 Yea, ofc if you have AM into Lesh, his team will be very into defending towers. Usually even if they succeed and still have all t3s around time AM farms his 3 item timing. Lesh's team will usually come ahead still in NW hard due to superior map control, allowing for itemization counters like force stave for AM jump, hex, silver edge or whatever. Unless team lesh makes some terrible blunder like getting 5 men echo you are still playing with huge advantage. As far as I know Lesh have positive winrate vs AM both in Divine+ pubs and pro games.
@@chickenwarrior3067 We used to pick it in scrims few years ago, now I can't really tell, I play low immortal 5v5 pubs mostly and we only had like two Lesh pos1 into AM pos 1 games and both felt good.
The thing is, if people that are trying to climb the ranks start flaming other people for their playing, they're going to lower their chances of winning even further by tilting everyone else.
One piece missed mechanically is that you can toggle the ult every two pulses for more damage as you skip part of the delay between the second and third pulse. Drains the mana very quickly, but very useful for 3 ticks during a stun instead of 2.
Grubby is such a nice guy but is so painful to watch the even tho I do the same and even worst mistakes with 7k hours... I kno I'm messed up, don't ever be like me Grubby :cry: But for the love get that Timeless Relic and press R ROFL X)

I discovered grubby almost 20 years ago when I was in high school. He was Warcraft 3 legend and probably still is.
Sumail is a big Leshrac player, he always goes with:

leshrac is my favorite pusher, and when he has shard, zone denier. He makes it very hard for enemies to initiate unless they have bkb.
