- CRASH TEST VOLVO XC90 - REAL LIFE Survival Story DOCUMENTARY. Martin and Anna - a survival story.
Introduced by Volvo Cars in 1959, the three-point safety belt is estimated to have saved more than one million lives globally, not just in Volvos, but in numerous other cars thanks to the company’s decision to share the invention in the interest of improving traffic safety. Since then it has continued to prioritise societal progress over financial gain alone.
In the 1980s, Volvo Cars started to focus on side impacts, after its data showed that too many people were injured in such accidents due to the short distance between impact and occupant. This resulted in several innovations starting in the 1990s, such as the side impact protection system (SIPS), side airbags and inflatable curtains. All these innovations, based on Volvo’s research data, now form an industry standard.

I crashed a 2001 Volvo v70 at 75mph into a ditch then hit a tree
Walked away with just seatbelt Mark's on my collarbone area
All airbags deployed
Thank you Volvo.
My next car was another Volvo v70.
Swap that with the 1991 ford sierra estate, you would be crushed alive inside the car, the ford sierra estate from 1991 has no actual airbags so you can imagine getting your face absolutely smashed by the steering wheel
Thank You For your story. Volvo name is synonymous with 'Safety.'
My brother-in-law had the xc90 in 2005. In it they had an accident with his pregnant wife. All to avoid colliding with another car that deviated from your lane. The eighty turned on itself. Both my brother-in-law and his wife were unharmed, the baby is a healthy gentleman without any sequelae. Frankly after that experience I don't think so much about horses but about the safety of my family.
plural noun: sequelae
a condition which is the consequence of a previous disease or injury.
"the long-term sequelae of infection"
Volvo saved my big sister and me as a kid from a high speed accident caused by a careless German driver when she was 18 in Germany driving my Dads volvo. Then again with my Mom in the car when someone hit her on the side and we all were untouched no injuries. This is going to be my next car. Safest car in the world since the 70's. Thank you Volvo for saving my family. My Dad went to Sweden personally to buy a Volvo and imported it back after buying his first Vovlo.
Hi! Why your dad didn't buy volvo directly in your country? Isn't volvo cars not sell in your country?
@@user-jj4zt1rv7e they are German I think and Germany offers Volvo
It was more of a gesture getting it directly from Sweden
Volvo is best, my friends always ask me how do you do love Volvo, i just now play this video. :D Family is 1st
So true, brotha!
Did you just say FAMILY !!!!!
Good Job Volvo For Having Such Safe Cars
I agree
Just bought a XC90 T8 which gets delivered next week. This will be my 3rd Volvo in a row. Previously owned an XC70 and a XC90 Mk1. Volvo for life, as they say!!
Volvo Forever! Thanks for sharing your story.
Volvo: For Life.
Just bought a 2020 volvo XC40 and I’ve never felt safer
Xc90 please, anything smaller is a no.
My wife won’t drive any other car but a VOLVO!
My XC90 will arrive in 1 week time, looking forward to keep my family safe
Couldn’t you just get a Volvo V 90?
Volvo for life !!!
I only buy Volvo cars! 😎👍
Volvo for life
We drove a 1987 245DL 5 speed manual and we would be traveling to Virginia, Pennsylvania, you name it we were probably there. Great family vehicle.
Volvo 👏👏👏👏👏
👌
My parents were in a 1996 850 turbo and they were t-boned by a ford f-250 4x4 which meant it had a big tow hook in the front. That hook hit my father right in the hip. Unfortunately the air bags didn’t work but by father survived and somehow still walks and I pretty much fully functional so now we own three of them. A xc70 c70 convertible and a xc90r polestar tuned
Had my Honda Accord totaled while driving with my 3 year old daughter, just used the insurance payout to upgrade to an XC90.
Bravo wonderful people for having the courage to speak of such s traumatic event 🙏❤️
VOLVO FOR LIFE. I only buy VOLVO CAR FOR MY LIFE
very good Bro
Complimenti a Volvo
Veramente ottimo
Good
Four cars in our driveway: 240, S70, S90 and XC90. Enough said…
Lovely to see so many great stories in the comments. Volvo truly is the safest car in the world. Even though they don’t look the best, safety>looks
I personally love the looks of their wagons lol, they're safe and reliable!
@@jesusisking1741 I do to, i love the front but I think the back can be improved
Now. I took my decision about purchasing my next car, greeting from Canada
Ottimo
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Wiecie o tym że NCAP robi testy przy 15mph volvo się widać nie pierdoli w tańcu dostosowuje swoje auta do normalnego ruchu a nie warunków labolatoryjnych
Liked- "pierdoli"... well said
What is the song at 1:44?
Safety must be priority in Sweden because SAAB were also very safe cars
also the reason why Saabs had the ignition in the middle was so that the key wouldn't fly into your head during a crash.
@@GiordanDiodato
Very smart!
Wow
80kmh offset. Wow!
The cars in the crash test are second generation, after 2022. That said, I am purchasing an '08 XC 90 this week. It has high miles . . but, Volvo for LIFE!!
Good but very expensive
used ones are reasonable. and there are a lot
Your life has no price.
@@famaccount479 Well Said.
Cheaper than American cars like Tahoe, Lexus, Cadillac, etc.
@@p0urr1 Lexus isn't American
Почему после теста, нет видео как открываются двери!
Зачем открывать? Они отваливаются сами как надо 😂
Ну так посмотри евро NCAP там все увидишь
Pics or it didn't happen
Шляпа...Полная.
Idk but at the moment i think Mercedes is at the same level, if not higher than Volvo
Arved Ludwig Volvo is 1st! Believe me
About the same also Mercedes invented the airbag so naturally there will be more in a Mercedes but Volvo invented the seatbelt in 1959 and something to do with child seats
@@arvedludwig3584 This S-class, costs 50% more than the S80, right? The same S-class that hasn't been tested by Euro NCAP (going by 2018 data) to insinuate that the S80 is less protected by not including a side airbag which it apparently has (according to IIHS 2007 model tests)?
Just google for "small overlap crash" and you will see, that there is no alternative to Volvo in safety.
S80 havent been made for many years so that is irrelevant.
