There is a secret dragon fight in a place called the deeproot depths, warning however: it is scaled to midgame so it will likely be destroyed because of his unfortunately small health pool, also don't use summons no matter how weak they are
My brother (who had never touched a Souls game before) nearly beat her on his first try using my build + mimic tear. If you think she's just as hard WITH summons, I dare you to try without.

This was technically my first souls game (I played maybe 10 minutes total of DS3 not counting characters design) she’s tough with or without summons. You can’t make a mistake. You really have to know her patterns and be patient.
Nice job beating Malenia! 9:15 you got it man, the waterfowl evade! You're too hard on yourself, man! I have played many more hours than you and haven't beaten Malenia without a summons. Most of the time I actually summon other players - so much fun to beat her up like that! Still, I can't dodge waterfowl at close range, only when she's further away.
ya just for fun i summoned some other players (never got to do coop on the earlier games as barely anyone was on the servers anymore) and it was a blast. some got killed right away, sometimes i got killed. but i found one guy (not letmesoloher but ragesage69twitch) and he was really good. he used seppuko to reduce his health, then howl of shabriri for power boost. then rannis dark moon sorcery for insane damage to malenia. he sprinkled in some night comet for quick damage. i just hung back watching the magic happen. i had almost beaten her with tiche but just wanted to try summons. i hit her with some lorettas mastery at the end but it was really ragesage who did all the work. i may try her again on my own in a future playthrough. i did eventually best artorious melee which was tough but felt good doing. but now he seems easy compared to malenia and newer bosses. great game no matter how you play
When her hp reaches 70%, you gotta be extra careful to not be too close to her. Can throw some items to make her initiate waterfowl. And sprint away from the first burst, for the second burst of waterfowl you gotta dodge forward.
Dude, every time I get her to that health now, I get super paranoid. On my main character it is easier because he has health, but my Faith/Int caster, he is just so squshy...

I'm fine with people using mimic tear or summons against her - it's a mechanic in the game and it's fair to be used. What I don't like is hearing people say that Malenia isn't difficult....because they went online and searched up which summon is most effective against her. Jah didn't do this obviously, so not directing it at him. Though I will say, once you get down her movesets and finally figure out waterfowl dance (still BS) it is very satisfying and feels like you are doing a dance with her.

Well done beating the toughest boss in Elden Ring. Now all you have to do is defeat Orphan of Kos, Sister Friede, Isshun the Lord Saint and many, many more in your From Soft journey. The old games are good man. Bloodborne would be a logical follow up imo but you do you.
@@JahXplosive Both games are considered by most as more difficult than ER. What I learned is that both are also completely different in gameplay. Bloodborne taught me to be aggressive. Sekiro made me a parry god. Both made me a better gamer. Don’t care if you choose Super Mario Odyssey at this point. You’re good fun to hang out with.
If you want to beat her 1v1, what worked for me was giving up on a timeframe to beat her, i just kept going in and tried figuring out her attacks. Waterfowl and her clone attack in second phase were the worst offenders, the others get a lot easier to dodge the more you fight her.
After playing elden ring (on release) as my first ever souls game, I’ve been playing (and absolutely loving) the rest of fromsoftware’s souls games. And honestly, try not to pay attention to people negging you for using mimic and/or the blasphemous blade. Play the games however you’d like to, whatever you find to be the most fun or the coolest looking. Super fun watching you embark on your elden journey; good luck and savor it all!
For anyone struggling, the Waterfowl dodge that works best for me: Run far away for first slash Dodge into/past for second and third slash Dont forget about the last hit lol
I’ve actually found that dodging forwards at different angles sometimes lets you dodge the first slash if you’re too close. I can’t give specifics seeing as that move is still a nightmare and a lot more testing needs to be done but I just beat her recently and I was actually surviving the waterfowl a lot more than I thought I would.
@HughJPP yeah if you're too close you definitely have to dodge into the first one too. It can work, but running from the first one makes it a lot more consistent I've found. The hardest part is recognizing when she's going into Waterfowl and not the other floating slashy thing
For the third slash I never dodge I just walk forward as she goes up then when she dives just begin to walk backwards and she’ll go over you and miss, dodging for me sometimes puts me in her slash range
Get the summon from where you continue rannis quest. There is a high plateau with a summoning circle i think to the top left of godrics castle from the first boss.

Dude, you don't suck. It's the hardest boss in the game, it's the hardest boss in many games in general, and it's the first time you play a souls. Defeating her is an achievement, summons or not. I'm a veteran and it took me a week (7 days, two hours a day) of constantly dying until I could defeat her. There's always NG+ so you can try then. Also, you're missing a big one. You should go fight against Mohg. He's in a secret area that you can access thru the consecrated snowfield. He's important cause he's the one gatekeeping the dlc

One trick is to stop it by stunning her with a frost pot. Another is to just run if you are already far. Another is to circle around her at close range and dodge to the side while she prepares to use it to make the initial attack miss, then roll forward through the second hit and again forward through the third.
I remember when I dodged it perfectly for the first time. Such a rush. My problem is I still can't consistently dodge if I am too close, and because of the input que, it often messes me up more than if I hadn't dodged.
Unless they changed Melania you used to be able to interrupt her charge with a thrown consumable pot to the face but only on her charging at you, worked on a couple other bosses also, is why I became a fan of certain consumables. Yes, any hit procs her sword's regen power 😮😊

I think the biggest part of strength builds you’re missing out on is jump attacks and charged heavy attacks. It’s a lot of extra damage and crit attacks
Idk if u changed ur tailismans for this fight but there are some that make blocking better. Your guard breaks because you have no stamina so increasing that could help
When I did her I had maxed out rivers of blood before nerf and used ashes… beat her first try. Felt so bad that I reloaded and took the time to beat her by myself

Scarlet Aeonia (from Malenia's rememberance) is one of my favorite incantations, although it requires 3 memory slots just like Black Blade. IMO you should use it against the final boss.
14:45 - not very skilled, at least from my perspective. You just have to love the pain. Let it caress you. Let it love you. And pray to all the gods of luck. A few weeks ago, I decided to fight her again after simply avoiding her since I won with my mimic two years ago. I took that challenge, persevered, and finally beat her solo. Now I watch videos of others like @Quoppp play and realized that I haven't even scratched the surface.
***Spoilers*** Dude, congrats! Malenia is a tough one, and you played it well! Don't worry about what you used to beat her, Malenia is tough not matter what on a first playthrough! I struggled with her a lot, and I spent time studying her moveset. Thanks for the awesome content and don't let other people's opinions drag you down. You are an awesome player and a great youtuber!
Using mimic or any summon against Malenia in my experience just makes it harder. I always solo her because she gets health back from summons as they arent players and dont dodge. As for helping real players i usually like to take the brunt with the other summons because hosts are dumb and they always die lol. Good tries all around. This is one of the best bosses in the game , top 5 for me.
Fun fact for you, have u realized that she actual cant see you? Yes Malenia is blind and still ripps people into pieces. Imagine fighting her in peak of her power and health? That would be some scary shit.

If you go to the palace overlook I believe it's called on the blood level.you will see a huge black bird 🐦⬛ if you have obtained the golden scarab talisman you can get 13k runes every time you shoot it once and it jumps off the cliff. Go to site of grace rest exit quickly repeat that process over and over.. you will have endless runes to level up stats with. It's not a glitch it's a normal game mechanic. And if you use a golden pickle fowl foot .. you will get 17k . No reason to cheese the game or use glitches. Farming is easy when you know how. #aGoldenTrick

Using ashes on malenia isnt really cheesy, her ability to use them like juice boxes levels it out. The difference is just in the playstyle.

Played this co-op with a buddy, took maybe 20 tries with the both of us, very pleased with how quick it went

I think the biggest part of strength builds you’re missing out on is jump attacks and charged heavy attacks. It’s a lot of extra damage and crit attacks

Idk if u changed ur tailismans for this fight but there are some that make blocking better. Your guard breaks because you have no stamina so increasing that could help

When I did her I had maxed out rivers of blood before nerf and used ashes… beat her first try. Felt so bad that I reloaded and took the time to beat her by myself

Scarlet Aeonia (from Malenia's rememberance) is one of my favorite incantations, although it requires 3 memory slots just like Black Blade. IMO you should use it against the final boss.
I haven’t even fought her yet. I’m just grinding levels. She’s the only big boss left before the final boss of the game for me.

A few weeks ago, I decided to fight her again after simply avoiding her since I won with my mimic two years ago. I took that challenge, persevered, and finally beat her solo. Now I watch videos of others like @Quoppp play and realized that I haven't even scratched the surface.

Dude, congrats! Malenia is a tough one, and you played it well! Don't worry about what you used to beat her, Malenia is tough not matter what on a first playthrough! I struggled with her a lot, and I spent time studying her moveset.

Using mimic or any summon against Malenia in my experience just makes it harder. I always solo her because she gets health back from summons as they arent players and dont dodge.
As for helping real players i usually like to take the brunt with the other summons because hosts are dumb and they always die lol.
Good tries all around. This is one of the best bosses in the game , top 5 for me.

Have you been to the blood Level Yet? And what level are you?
If you go to the palace overlook I believe it's called on the blood level.you will see a huge black bird 🐦⬛ if you have obtained the golden scarab talisman you can get 13k runes every time you shoot it once and it jumps off the cliff. Go to site of grace rest exit quickly repeat that process over and over.. you will have endless runes to level up stats with. It's not a glitch it's a normal game mechanic. And if you use a golden pickle fowl foot .. you will get 17k . No reason to cheese the game or use glitches. Farming is easy when you know how. #aGoldenTrick
