this is really awesome. though for travel, you would be better off with just a pair of 7x50 binoculars. gives you about the same total aperture as this scope. the only thing you dont get is a stable base.
Uh... this is an 8” ie 204mm Aperture. 50mm binoculars have as much as aperture as a 50 Times Square root of 2 single lens/mirror, ie just over 70 mm. This telescope has about 8 times as much light gathering capability as dual 50mm refractors do. 140mm binoculars would be roughly equivalent (but binocular vision doesn’t actually work that way), but 140mm binoculars are not particular travel size.
Hello Susan. I make these. I dont have any plans at the moment. I have made some improvements to the design since this one here is a link to another video. ruclips.net/video/CfIUltv80vY/видео.html
Thank you for your comment. But what's wrong with my back yard? I quite like natural weeds and plants. What if I like it like that. or maybe it's not my backyard. I'm incredibly sorry that this has ruined the video for you I will time travel back to when I made this video and hire a good gardener to sort it out. would that please you? Thank you for your observation. Have a wonderful day and I hope you find love and happiness. Yours sincerely. Mr P J Smith
The idea was as light weight and compact as possible. Also it is the prototype the new ones are more stable. Also it's just a bit of fun. Cheap and easy to make. It only took a day to make. Hope that satisfies your concerns.
Man, you are the best. I've seen a lot of ATM scopes in my life, but your's is the, ...astronomically, the most ingenious. Thanks for sharing.
Superb cool telescope 🔭❤️ dear, thank you for informational video... Fully enjoyed 😀💖🎁🎁🎁🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Así imaginaba mi diseño, excelente trabajo, saludos de México.
Muchas gracias
You should sell it as a kit. Great design.
That was truly inspired. I’m in awe of your creativity and skill.
Ingenious. You must have had a lot of satisfaction in building it. A stalk for a secondary support?
That's beautiful and extremely impressive. Well done!
You need to design a lawn mower lol. Seriously though really cool design and craftsmanship.
Piece of art!
Are there things you would improve, if you were to do this again?
nice instrument, c'est pratique aussi pour transporter. bonne continuation.
very clever design.

@@JasperJanssen does the wife believe your 4.5" unit is an 8" unit? check the title of the video again.
nice instrument!
Where can someone get one of these? Or get the plans to build one for themselves?

@@PeterSmithwoodsmith Snakes can hide. As you said it looks natural I agree. Subscribed too.
Seems pretty clean to me? The lawn could do with mowing, I suppose.
Looks flimsy to me!

Peter Smith I presume the primary mirror takes a bit longer to make though?
