In 1988 as a Flight Attendant for a Brazilian company, I was in Argentina when I bought the LP "Johnny Hates Jazz". It remains one of my favorites in 2024, now retired, back in my small town.
Love this song! Great remix! I was a teenager when this came out & I had a girlfriend that told me she wrote this song, but it was a lie lol! I was young & gullible & believed her for awhile. Well I found out she was crazy & we broke up. Oh to be young & innocent again!

My mom used to work as a janitor in my uncle's office and when I went with her to work at night, we would listen to K-BIG 104.3 (SoCal adult contemporary station). This song played all the time. Another great 80's tune. Underrated but, awesome nevertheless. For some reason, I always thought this song came out in 1985 or '86. Didn't know it was a late arrival to the party.
Since I heard this back in the day, I have always liked it. Something about it though - it always sounded too bright, to the point of being harsh. Your version is warmer, fuller sounding with a more forward bass, wider imaging field and balanced vocals, percussion and synth that brings out the best of that cool '80's pop vibe. Your version is definitely the hi fi audiophile version, not the tinny waiting at the doctor's office version.
This one belongs to that special group of the finest classics ever produced on Synth Pop style. Lucky ones all that could grow up during childhood and teenage years in the 70's 80's and 90's.
