    The roads are empty because in summer it's 35C outside, many are on vacation somewhere along the coast, others are on some beach just outside of the city, or at home in air-conditioned rooms. We go out in the morning and in the evening, during the day only if absolutely necessary.
    Our people continue to find better-paid jobs in EU countries, while others return, foreign workers also come and expats from Western countries move here because of the better quality of life, so migration is no longer in a negative trend.
    The beach you went to is by the main harbor and we don't consider it clean, only older people go there, after all the whole bay is shallow so they can get wet up to their knees while men play popular game called "picigin" in that shallow water.

    I don’t understand how anybody can visit any city without reading about its history online? At the very least, you could include a link from Wikipedia in the description of your videos...
    I assume this was filmed during the summer of 2024, definitely before September because that's when it suddenly got colder.
    Only tourists were wandering around the city, while the locals weren’t swimming; they either stayed indoors with the AC or worked.
    That being said, the summer of 2024 was the hottest summer ever because the nights were unbearably hot. So, daytime temperatures were over 35°C, and at night around 30°C.

    Why do people leave these seemingly paradisiacal corners? It's very simple, there is no job. You can only work in the service sector, but there are very few good, highly qualified jobs in this area, so people leave in search of better places to live. Thus, the economies of such countries are in decline and they are becoming more and more dependent on the industrial powers.

    • @dzonikg
      @dzonikg 4 месяца назад

      Job is not a problem,problem is worker rights in private sector.Becase after end off Yugoslavia also ended worker rights at least in private sector .People who work for government they dont live a country,they still have rights like in old Yugoslavia but you can now only get job there if you have a connections .
      SO people who dont have connections need to work for private boss who act like he is Kim Jong Un so u dont have life.So people refuse and live a country and go to some west country which have worker rights and then they import workers from low income countries in Asia like Nepal who dont ask questions.

    Well you asked do we have slums/getos . Hm.. Split Center that is now touristic hot-spot in 90ts was called "geto" - for reason. There was lot of drugs and crime there. About "slums"/"favelas".. We have let's say locations that we call slums/favelas in Split or around Split, I grew in one of those, because in 90's everyone was poor and buildings we built without much order or regulations. Today you can still see that they are not in perfect shape but it is much better now.. crime rate is low now, it was much higher in 90ts like in rest of East Europe after the fall of communism, economic transition, plus we had a war
